Literature Text

It started out a beautiful day for me. I lost my school ID, misses the bus, had to walk to school, and it was pouring rain. Yes, it was a VERY beautiful day.

Before I go any further, let me introduce myself. I am Trystan Hope. I am 14. I live in Glen Ellyn, IL. And I know almost every single name of every single pokémon (but not in order). Anyways back to the story.

On my 2 mile wet walk to school, I got this sudden burning feeling in my leg. I stopped behind a power box on the side of the street, so no one could see. When I pulled my pant legs up, there was light blue fur sprouting up from my legs. I couldn't think of any good explanation for this, so instead I just ignored it and worried about what people would think at Gym.

After 50 minutes of walking through the rain, including the slight "detour", I finally got to school 10 min. into first period. 2 periods later, came Gym. Luckily we weren't changing into our gym uniforms today. That was close. So in the next 2 periods is Lunch, and I was going to ask my friend, Brandon, if he's heard of people changing into real pokémon. If anyone knew it was Brandon. Brandon is a serious, die-hard pokémon fan and Hunger Games fan. He knew all there is to know about pokémon, like pokémon names, types, moves, abilities, you name it.

So when Lunch rolled around, I tried to ask him, but when you have rec first before lunch, and your playing soccer, it's kind of hard to talk to someone. So I pulled him to a separate table, away from our friend, to talk.

"Have you ever heard of people turning into real pokémon?" I asked, seeming to bring a slight worried look in his eyes.

"I don't understand what you mean by "real pokémon"?", he exclaimed, while gradually speeding up his talking, " it's impossible to turn into a pokémon. They are fake, not real, fictional. It's impossible to be a pokémon.", now itching his left fore arm a lot with a very worried and scared look on his face.

"Brandon, what's wrong?", I asked.

"Nothing, I- I need to go to the bathroom.", he said, heading towards the bathroom.

I followed him in, to see what was up. And when I got in I saw his left arm covered with very pale yellow fur.

"What happened?", I asked, in a concerned voice.

"I don't know. Today I just woke up and this happened.", he said, in an annoyed and scared voice.

"Don't worry because you aren't the only one.", and with that said I showed him my legs. He didn't know what to say to this, but he seemed a little less scared knowing he wouldn't be going through this alone. "There has to be other people than just us two," I said, "there just has to be." Then the bell rang, ending fifth period.

"Well you have more important things to worry about like, what are you going to do about track." he said, then he walked off putting his sweatshirt back on over his arm.

Then I just remembered track and field started to today. Crap, now what am I supposed to do? In track you have to wear your gym uniform, which included a blue or white t-shirt and a pair of shorts, rain or shine. Luckily today was raining, so I may have a chance of getting my coach to let me wear sweatpants during practice.

For the last two period of the day I have class with Brandon. Whenever we had the chance, we would try to figure out how to stop our transformations, but nothing seemed logical. Another thing we discussed was who we could trust with our secret, but we came to the conclusion that we couldn't trust anyone, not even our parents. So we just turned around and sat there. Me with my head laying on my arms and Brandon listening to Skrillex and Deadmau5 with his head on his desk, dreading this entire day, and hoping it was all just a dream.

When the final bell rang we rushed out of class and off to track and field. It was drizzling outside, so our coach let Brandon and I wear his sweatshirt and my sweatpants. After we did all our stretching, warm-up run, and technical warm-up we went off to practice our track/field events. I first went to shot put. Since it was pouring earlier, and now it's drizzling, the field outside was extremely muddy. I knew after not throwing the 8 pound ball of pure steel for a year I would do a little terrible, but instead I did the opposite. I threw that thing 50 feet out of my usual 31 feet. After that throw I moved to my next event, the triple jump.

I decided to jump from the 28 foot mark rather than my usual 24 foot mark. But when ever I go for my final leap, I'm in the sandpit already. So I moved to 32 feet, sandpit, 36 feet, sandpit, and  40 feet, you guessed it, sandpit. So when I did it at the 44 foot mark my foot always landed just behind the foul line. And when I land the final leap, I was at a new record of 68 feet 5 inches. That's not just my new record, that's a new conference record. Amazed I went to do my final event, the high jump.

I thought I would beat my record here too with flying colors. High jump was indoors because of the rain. So I easily got over the bar at  the 5 feet 8 inches mark, my usual. But I couldn't get over the 6 foot mark without using all 3 of my tries. After practice I met with Brandon, he mainly does the 100 meter and 200 meter dash.

"dude so I was doing the 100 today and guess what happened." He said, very excited.

"What?" I asked.

"So I did the 100 and when I finished I had a 9.38." He yelled. "Dude, that's faster than Usain Bolt's World Record."

"Seriously," I said, in disbelief, "dude, threw the shot put 50 feet today and jumped 68 feet 5 inches at triple."

"What about high jump?" He asked.

"I did my usual there. Why?" I asked.

"follow me." He said. So I followed him into the boys bathroom. "I think, since we're turning into Pokémon, that our power, speed, and strength are growing."

"Then why didn't in do better at the high jump?" I asked. That got him thinking.

"I got it! It's raining outside, right." He started to explain, "If you did better outside, wear it's raining, but not inside, where it's dry, then you must be a pokémon with the ability torrent because your better in the rain. Trystan, your a water type Pokémon!"

After he said that our old and retired math teacher, Mr. Stiles, burst through the door and shouted, "You're one of them!" And sprayed us with a purple gas and we fell into a deep sleep.
I can't believe I got this done in one day. I'm still new at writing these type of stories, so give me a little slack. There are small spelling and grammar errors, so don't worry I know. (that's what I get for writing this on my iPod.) Oh and sorry if I started to ramble on about random stuff. I tend to do that in real life and in my writing. Please comment with advice so I can use that for my 2nd chapter.
