Chapter 1

As I walk down a asphalt path, I see a figure ahead of me. Getting closer, I recognize the figure to be a woman. No older than nineteen, I assume. Her hair is light blue with streaks of green.

"Hello" I greet her. She keeps walking on, ignoring me. "Are you lost?" I ask.

"Leave me alone" she whispers.  She lifts her head and gazes at me. She lifts her head and gazes at me. She has beautiful eyes, one icy blue and the other shimmering gold. I see scars and dried blood. I gasp softly.

"What's happened to you?" I ask.

"I don't want to talk about it" she hisses.

"Can I help you?" I ask. A tear creeps down her right cheek.

"Its been so long since I've felt compassion" she says softly.

"My home is just down the road. Come on, let's get you cleaned up" I say.

"Ok" she whispers. It's a nice day. The sun is out and gartros are chirping. Gartros are completely harmless avian creatures. This is a typical day in the land of Aruza. I look up and glimpse one of the moons, Folor. We arrive at the front of my house. I remove the key card from my pocket and inserted it into the key card slot on the door. The door opens, we enter the living room.

"Sit wherever you would like" I say walking into the kitchen. "32 ounces of water at 100 degrees Fahrenheit in a glass bowl with a cotton cloth on the side" I command the computer. While I wait for the computer to prepare that, I walk back to the living room. I find her sitting at the far end of the wooden table. I pull out a chair next to her and sit down. "Would you like a drink?" I ask.

"Yes please, Tihar if you have some" she says. Tihar is a popular alcoholic drink in the land of Aruza.

"Computer, please" I say. A slot opens in the middle of the table. A platform with a icy cocktail glass with Tihar rises about six inches above the table level. While I hand her the glass, another platform with the bowl and cloth rises from the same slot. She drinks the whole glass in one gulp. I dampen the cloth, lifting her chin as I wipe off the blood.
"What is your name?" I ask.

"My name is Fiona" she answers. "What is yours?" She asks

"Mine is Orion, named after the constellation" I answer.

"Who or what caused these wounds and scars?" I ask.

"I was attacked by a group of Nexus. I barely made it alive." She answers, her voice breaking up.

"Hey it's ok, it's over" I say, trying to calm her down. Nexus are feline creatures with claws which could slice a human in half. "Ok so you've been injured by Nexus, you will need medicine for those cuts to prevent infection" I say. "Computer, get me 100 grams of Bacitracin" I command the computer once again.
