La Espada Del Diablo

I remember the day I met the Cap'n... I was in a tavern located in a small port town an' was drinkin' grog from a flagon when I overheard two men near me who were talkin' with each other. I couldn't help but listen to what they were sayin'.

"I saw a pirate in town earlier lingerin' around near the docks."

"Ye did? What was doin'?"

"I guessed he had stopped in this port town for a short break from sailing, but I heard him asking for any willing man or woman to speak with him if they wished to join his crew."

"Well, did ye join 'is crew?"

"Of course not! Do you think that I'll join a group of pirates and risk dying of disease, being shipwrecked, and being wanted by the Navy? Not me!"

When I heard this, I placed my now-empty flagon on the table an' thought for a few moments. It had been a while since I had the chance to join a crew where the pickings are good an' I do 'ave a love for adventure...

I rose to my feet an' left the tavern. With the dock in sight, I began makin' my way towards it as I searched for this pirate I heard the two men talkin' about. I didn't see any pirate lingerin' about like I heard, but I continued my search for 'im. I saw a ship anchored away from the rest of the ships an' saw a flag flyin' high. It was a skull wearin' a black hat with two blades crossing behind it. I couldn't help but smile at what opportunities lay before me when I joined this crew...

I took a jollyboat an' rowed over to the ship. I pulled up alongside it and climbed onto the deck. When I approached the captain's cabin, I knocked and waited until I heard footsteps approaching the door from the other side. It was opened by a young man who looked surprised at seein' me. He spoke to me.

"Is there somethin' ye needed?"

I replied. "Aye, I thought I heard of someone lookin' for crew members. Are ye the one I speak of?"

The cap'n nodded. "That would be me. Me name's Cap'n Chenbeard! What might yore name be?"

I smiled coldly as I told him my name. "I am Salazar, La Espada Del Diablo."
