Description

Sorry guys about the lack of updates, busy life means less of everything else. i was working on it over spring break a little but the whole file corrupted magically and splendidly so i had to start from scratch again. For those of you who know KA's work Negima, it ended with somewhat of a abrupt ending leaving many loose ends and not explaining where many of the characters went. Well this card doesn't fix this problem, but it did make me feel a little better that luna was completely omitted like she was in the manga, since she's got the number 32 in the card. Based on KA's print in the volume, anything already known was created with the card, the only things I don't know are her last name and her title. The colors are based on my preferences and from the prisma color shown on chaos card. As you know when the artist doesn't give me names i make them up. So, finally here's the explanation for what i came up with.

Luna Bella Nemorensia - This was took some time to come up with but, as you know Luna means the moon so in the roman myth, the goddess of the moon is Diana. One temple built in her honor is the temple, was near the Lake Nemi, beneath the cliffs of the modern city Nemi. And actually around there she is called Diana Nemorensis, which means "Diana of the Woods/Grove". This was my first reference because I remembered that Luna lived a quaint mountain/valley village that had trees, definitely enough to be considered a grove, and was very lush, so this concept was part the first reason. Continuing with the story of Diana, the lake that the sanctuary resides around is referred to by poets as speculum Dianae, which means “Diana's Mirror”. For me this was another reason since it can be a reference to the fact that Luna, as a mind-reader, with the help of the bookmark, could mirror the existence of another person. Thus I picked Nemorensis, as part of her last name. But as I felt it was quite masculine, I added Bella in reference to "Bella Luna" and feminized it to makes "Bella Nemorensia", meaning beautiful grove (I hope that it means that at least with my latin googling it does).

biolectrix amica - Referring back to her artifact Signum Bioregen, which means life-ruling or life stealing seal, i used the bio portion and added it to lector, making biolector, or life-reader/mind-reader. After this i feminized it to be biolectrix. Amica as a noun is female friend, girl friend, sweetheart, patron; mistress, concubine, courtesan...at least thats what the dictionary said... so it was related to the type of character that she was. But the main reason that i picked amica was for the adjective definition which means, friendly, dear, fond of; supporting (political), loyal, devoted; loving. These definitions are many if not all the traits exhibited by luna at some point. Thus her title became the "devoted mind-reader", or "devoted life-reader".

I'll put a shiny version too, since it seems that KA had a whole set of them with volume 37, and i wouldn't want luna, exchange student, number 32, to miss out.

Your pactio cards are REALLY good! Have you considered making cards for the rest of Fate's girls? Like Koyomi (my favorite), Homura, and Shirabe?
