Description

Previous part: [link]

Okay so I'm continuing this story from where we last left off. It'll start with Greed attacking Bradley at his house, and then everyone knows he meets up with Ed and blah blah blah, you know the story if you've seen FMAB and read the manga. The ideas I just spoke of are not originally mine and belong to Hiromu Arakawa. However, I am going to paraphrase some stuff and add my oc to this so anything written involving my oc is from my mind. Here we go...

*Storyline*

All was peaceful in the Bradley mansion. Just like any other quiet night at home, King Bradley sat on the couch, reading his newspaper while his wife told their son Selim about all the different books that their bookcase held. It wasn't until he heard the slamming of bodies outside the door that King Bradley realized who had decided to pay him a visit.

In a loud banging sound, the door slammed open and hit the wall, alarming Mrs. Bradley as she protectively grabbed onto her son. Bradley saw the dark figure standing in the doorway and picked up his sword, prepared for what was to come.

"Bradley..." A deep voice mumbled as the figure came into the light. Who it was did not at all surprise the Furher, but instead angered him and his son who was actually secretly the homunculus, Pride.

"And just what might you be doing here at this hour, Greed?" Bradley asked, his eyes glaring on his brother homunculus.

Greed panted for a moment before activating his ultimate shield and lunging out at Bradley. Fortunately for him, Bradley drew his sword out in front of himself and stopped Greed's attack half-way before it could touch him. Now Bradley could see the truth hidden in Greed's furious expression he held on his face.

"Maybe you can explain this, Bradley..." The Avaricious man began and pushed his claw harder at Bradley, "What the hell is happening to me? These images I'm seeing...they keep clawing at the inside of my skull!" Greed snarled and managed to push Bradley back just a little bit by increasing his strength.

The Homunculus had remembered everything about his past; His gang...his old friends. His old self. Everything about his past. Killing Bito had made him remember. However, good memories of his friends came with bad ones. He remembered Bradley and what he had done to his gang. Now he was mad as hell and wasn't going to hold back like before.

"DAMMIT-WHAT DID YOU DO TO MY GANG?" The younger homunculus shouted, feeling the rage erupt from within him.

Bradley's glare intensified at his brother's words and he twitched his nose in disgust, "You miss those pathetic sewer rats? You should have just left the past the way it was...Over and dead!" Now Bradley added more strength to his sword as he continued to block Greed's attack.

At the sound of a cup breaking on the floor, Greed looked towards the sound giving Bradley the chance to strike back. The Furher slashed his sword at Greed and with that, the homunculi brothers went at it. Tearing across the room, jumping on and over the furniture that blocked their ways. Backing each other up to a corner and slashing their weapons at each other. Greed had made a decision thanks to what Ling had said earlier. He WOULD get revenge on the bastard who took his only friends in the world away from him. No matter what he had to do. However, as things stood now, Greed knew he wouldn't be able to beat him by himself...

"You bastard-" At seeing the door fly back open, revealing two of Bradley's guards, Greed ceased his attacks and jumped out the window and then ran off into the night.

"King Bradley! Madam Bradley! Are you and Selim alright?" One of the guards asked in a frantic manner, "I'm so sorry but he overpowered us..."

Bradley sighed and looked out the now-broken window, "I'm not surprised. The man came close to doing me in as well..."And with that, Bradley put his sword away and made the decision to go pay a visit to a certain bearded bastard under ground...

"There...finished." Emeara sighed, patting her hands together and dusting off her clothes. The black-haired girl looked down at the poorly made grave that laid in front of her. Just as she had promised, she had buried Greed's deceased friend. It was deep in the forest where it seemed almost peaceful, where no dangerous animals could mess the grave up. It fits well, Emeara thought as she looked back down at the grave one last time.

"Like I said before...please don't be angry with him. Or upset..." Emeara's smile turned very sad at that moment as she talked down to the pile of dirt, "I know what he went through all too well. He had his memories suppressed so he really didn't know who you were when he...killed you..."

She stopped there. Now it just sounded like she was making excuses for the homunculus and she wouldn't do that. Even if she DID know what he was going through, she wouldn't disgrace Greed or Bido like that; Despite the fact that she knew neither of them very well. But still...it was BECAUSE she knew what Greed was going through that she felt she had to at least do the right thing and bury Bido.

"I guess I should figure out where I'm going to from here..." The girl turned and began walking away from the grave. However, she immediately stopped when she heard foot steps coming from behind her.

Out of pure instinct, Emeara launched her body towards a bush and hid herself in it. She stared out it for a few seconds and suddenly saw the reason behind the foot steps appear, walking slowly across the grave she had just made.

'Greed?' Emeara's jaw dropped open but she quickly closed it when she saw him walk past the bush and onward. When she was sure he was gone, she got out of the bush and stared in the direction he had gone. The Song twin scratched her head in confusion and rose her brows upwardly,

"What the heck was that all about? Earlier he was really upset but now..." The girl swallowed a lump in her throat, "What happened...?"

Elsewhere, the Fullmetal Alchemist and two of Kimblee's men who had joined up with Ed recently, stood in front of the abandoned, dark house that had been blown half-way to bits by Gluttony back during the fight in the forest.

"What are we doing here, kid?" Darius, the man who was half-gorilla and half-human, asked the smaller boy beside him.

"We're here because this is where Alphonse is!" Ed replied, pumping a fist.

"Oh really? And how can you be so sure?" Heinkel, the other man who was half-lion and half-human, spoke sarcastically, doubting the alchemist's abilities.

Ed smirked proudly to himself and placed his automail hand on his hip, "Please, I know Al better then I know the back of my own hand. He's here. TRUST ME."

Only...what Ed had said was only found out to be ignorant stupidity; Because when the three entered the home, there wasn't a soul to be found. Not even a mouse.

"There's nobody here!" Darius screamed in annoyance then hit the Fullmetal alchemist, "Oh yeah, you REALLY know your brother! MY ASS YOU DO!"

Heinkel shook his head, unpleasantly, "We busted our butts for hundreds of miles only to find a dusty, crappy, run-down house? This is bull-" At catching the sudden smell of a person approaching, Heinkel turned around and pointed his gun.

Ed and Darius both looked at the man for a moment and then understood. Darius switched the lantern off while Ed got behind the doorway.

Just like Heinkel had smelled, a mysterious figure entered through the doorway, but didn't get far as he fell to his knees and dropped to the floor in an instant.

"What the..." Ed leaned towards the figure and could see the night sky's light reflecting on the man's face, "Ling? Er...wait, no Greed."

~GROWL~

The man lying on the floor smiled sadly at Ed and in a weak voice, mumbled, "Hungry...NEED...FOOD..."

Ed chuckled to himself, "No, it's Ling."

Just as Ling had wished, Ed gave Ling all the rations he and his partners possessed and in a matter of minutes, the idiot prince was as good as new,

"WOOHOO~ Thanks Ed! You're too kind." Ling grinned widely at his blonde friend as he patted his stomach, happily.

Ed rolled his eyes, "It's incredible you're not a huge fat-ass, idiot prince. What the heck are you doing here, anyways?"

Ling's smile fell off his face and was replaced with a somewhat disappointed frown, "Well...to be frank, Greed had a falling out with his brothers and I needed some place close to hide..."

With that, Ling went on to tell his entire story about what happened with Greed to Ed and the others.

_________________________________________

"What the heck should I do...? I have no place to go back to..." Emeara mumbled to herself as she sat on the edge of a cliff that showed a great view of the moon.

It was true. Emeara DIDN'T have any place to go; No home to return to. Hell, even before she was kidnapped, she really had no place she could call her refuge or shelter. That had been taken away a long time ago. From the moment she had been deported from Xing...

Emeara narrowed her dark green eyes to what was at the bottom of the cliff, "Oh yeah...I remembered something else when I was burying Greed's friend."

The same memory from earlier on flashed in her mind. She had seen part of it before. It was when she was a bodyguard for Ling. She was fighting against a bandit. However, during the fight, she was shot through the head and fell off a building, in which, should have ended her life. Thinking back on it and how things were now, in a sense, perhaps the gun shot DID end her life.

Eme then remembered waking up to the Emperor of Xing at her bedside, staring down at her with cold eyes. She had asked the man where she was, who she was, and so on. That gun shot had indeed caused her to lose her memories. But then the memory ended.

"I died...or I thought I did. I think...the Emperor was the one who sent me here to Amestris." She told herself, stroking her chin in thought, "Why would he do that...? And I remember when I 're-met' Ling, Lan Fan and Fu, they had been shocked. Maybe they thought I had died..."

Emeara's drooped her head in hopelessness. During her time in Amestris, Emeara had regained so much of her past; When she met Ling, Lan Fan, and Fu; Her sister and her death; Meeting Shen and all the things he had done for along with how they felt about each other and then his death; The fact that she knew alchemy; Becoming a bodyguard; and getting shot through the head and losing her memories. Despite all the memories she had recovered, she still didn't know too much about what had happened the year she left Xing. Nor did she remember why and how she even got to Amestris in the first place.

"Dammit..." She swore as she ran her fingers through her hair, "Why did I even have to survive that lethal gun shot?"

Seeing as there was no point to continue sitting on the cliff, the Xing commoner rose to her feet and began to walk South,

"I guess...I'll just go wherever I can..." At that, the girl continued off into the night.

Back with Ed and the others, their talk had ended and Greed had retaken control of Ling's body.

"Pain in the ass prince. He needs to keep his fat mouth shut..." The homunculus snarled as he rose from the wooden floor.

At seeing Heinkel point his gun at him, Greed rolled his eyes and made for the doorway,

"Whatever. I'm out of here. Later."

"Wait!" Ed shouted, shooting up from the floor which caused Greed to turn back and look at him. Ed continued, "Why don't you try and capture us?"

Greed tilted his head slightly, "What? Did you totally ignore everything Ling told you? I'm on my own now. Which is probably best because all those other homunculi are class A bastards and I'd rather not be around any of them. So what's done is done."

Greed shoved his hands into his pocket and began to take off once more. However, the next thing Ed said stopped the man dead in his tracks,

"Do you want to be allies?"

Both Darius and Heinkel looked at the alchemist in wonder. Greed looked back at him with a look of surprise. Ed's expression turned serious and he continued,

"You've got no where to go...Why not come with us?"

At feeling the memories of his old friends flash in his mind again, Greed slowly turned back to the short teen. For a moment, he stood there, staring at Ed. And then, his usual, loud laugh broke the silence,

"Follow you? You want ME to follow YOU?" Greed looked back at Ed with an insane smirk, "Up yours, kid! This world is MY possession, not yours. However..." Greed turned to leave, "If you want to join my team, you're welcome to it. Hehehe...later." Then the homunculus was gone.

Ed stood there in silence for a moment, thinking hard about what Greed had just said. Then he made a decision and rushed after the homunculus at full speed; the two chimera running after him.

~xXx~

"Join THEM? Do I look THAT desperate? It doesn't matter anyways...I'm completely alone now..." Greed mumbled, his voice trailing off sadly.

Inside, Ling smirked and crossed his arms at what the homunculus said, "Well if you're going to pout about it, then why don't you join up with Ed?"

"!" Greed stopped, his red eyes widening,

"Tell you what, if you give me my body back, I'll go take my place as Emperor of Xing. That should be enough to fill up that hole in your heart." Ling spoke proudly, smiling.

Greed rose a brow in fake curiosity, "The ruler of a whole country?"

Ling's smile grew, "Hehe, not bad, eh?"

Now a smirk came to Greed's face, "Ha! Get over yourself, idiot prince." A vein popped on Ling's head as his expression turned angry.

Greed walked to the edge of a cliff and looked up at the bright moon in the night sky. Bringing up a fist, Greed's expression turned determined, "Now ruler of the world...I could enjoy that."

Just as Ling felt himself get anxious at the homunculus' words, both men heard the familiar voice of Edward Elric calling as he ran up to Greed with the chimera trailing behind him.

"Ling!" Ed shouted, finally making his way to the homunculus.

Greed twitched, "I told you before, I'm GREED. Not Ling!"

"It's too difficult to keep track of!" Ed replied, "Hell, I'll just call you Greeling from now on!"

The homunculus sweat-dropped, "No! You will not-"

"Listen to me, Greeling." Ed starting, crossing his arms, "I'll follow you, got that?"

"Huh?" Greed was utterly confused now.

Ed smirked, knowing that Greed would have such a reaction, "I thought about it and this seems like a good opportunity. Plus since these guys always follow me, you've also got two chimeras on your side!"

Ed laughed and motioned his thumb at Darius and Heinkel who became immediately ticked off by the pipsqueak's remark,

"Who died and made you our commander, you punk?" Darius screamed, pounding Ed to the ground with his friend,

"You can't make these decisions, micro-bit! Squirt! Bean-sprout!" Heinkel followed, kicking Ed in the abs.

After the two were done with beating on Ed, the alchemist wobbly stood up and looked at Greed who now stared back at him as if he were a complete moron. Ed grinned at this and went on with their conversation,

"I realized something. I've been bowing at other peoples feet ever since I became a dog of the military. See, I lost all my pride a while back so I'm already used to following orders. I really can't let my ego get in the way. And besides...I can't let any information you have slip through the cracks!"

Greed frowned, looking at the kid for a moment. Then, he remembered something he had told Edward back when they fought when he was the first Greed;

*Flashback*

"What a waste. Keep losing your temper like this and you're gonna end up losing both my info and your precious brother."

*End flashback*

Finally, a wide grin came to the Avaricious man's face and he let out a laugh, "Alright, kid! You've got yourself a deal. But working for me means you have to live in the shadows- I don't wanna hear any regrets!"

Ed smirked back at the homunculus and waved his automail hand in the air, "Give me a break~ I've already got a million of those. What's one more gonna make a difference?"

Greed crossed his arms and smiled at Ed and the others, "You three are nutts. But you seem like strong guys so its all cool." The homunculus turned to the two chimera who stood behind Ed, "So, what kind of chimera are you two anyways?"

"I'm part gorilla." Darius answered.

"I'm part lion." Heinkel finished.

Greed chuckled,"That's pretty cool!"

Ed smiled at the older men and cupped the back of his head with both hands, "Well, this looks like a new beginning. Looks like I won't be able to see Al or Winry for a while but even so..."

At hearing the rustling of bushes come from behind them, Ed and the others immediately ceased their talking and took a step back in alarm. Heinkel pulled his gun from its holster and aimed towards the sound,

"I smell someone again..."

Ed clapped his hands and made a weapon on his automail, "Jeez, an enemy this soon?"

However, Ed's assumption was wrong. Out of the bushes and dark descended someone Ed never expected to see,

"Oh my god...Emeara?" Ed asked, squinting his eyes in the dark at the figure with short, black hair.

"Edward?" She asked back, looking at Ed in alarm, "What...What are you doing here?"

Ed deactivated his weapon and rushed over to the girl, "Never mind me- What about you? Weren't you kidnapped by Envy and-"

"I was but I escaped."

Greed's eyes widened at her claim while Ling on the inside simply watched with relief on his face,

"Thank God she's okay..." The Xingese prince mumbled causing Greed to stare blankly at the girl.

Ed's eyes went from the girl's face down to the tattered clothes and multiple injuries that covered her arms and legs,

"Holy crap. You're beaten up pretty good. How did you get all this way like that?"

Emeara ruffled her hair and shrugged, "It wasn't hard. I just followed Gr-" At noticing the homunculus was right behind Ed and the others, she jumped back in fear, "O-OH! G...Greed. I...I didn't know you were here..."

Greed said nothing and stared back at the girl.

Emeara felt over-overwhelmingly nervous now, "I...um...You're not going to...take me back to your brothers and Father are you?"

What the girl said caused Greed's red eyes to widen and his arms to drop at his sides, "Huh? Say what now?"

Emeara could feel another lump beginning to form in her throat, "A-Aren't you going to capture me or something...?"

Greed's expression turned from confused back to uncaring and he sighed, "Look, I split from the other homunculi so you don't have to worry about that. I'm pretty much working on my solo career now. Well, actually, these guys just joined up with me to work as my henchmen," The long-haired homunculus pointed at Ed and the others, grinning devilishly.

Emeara looked to Ed with a questionable look which only caused the Elric brother to smile and shrug in response,

"It's just he has some information on Father and the others. I can't let info like that slip away so I agreed to 'work' for him. So did these two idiot chimera, hehe." Ed smirked widely when he noticed Darius and Heinkel had taken offense to his remark again.

Emeara's eyes softened at seeing how calm the others were. Edward Elric had certainly changed in the past few months. He wasn't as hot-headed now and actually thought before he did something. The girl of Xing wondered if any of the others she had met before had changed like Ed had. Somehow she doubted it. Even so, none of this meant anything. She was still alone. She still had no place to return to; And she most likely wouldn't ever again. Not after the little incident with her and Lan Fan from few months previous. They all knew that side of her. Ed had even called her the very thing she knew she was. None of them would, in truth, accept her or want her to be near them. She truly was completely on her own now.

"Well, it was nice seeing you again..." Emeara faked a small smile and turned to depart from the others.

At seeing this, Ed quickly grabbed Eme's arm with his automail hand, "Hold on a second! Where are you going?"

The girl stared back at Ed who seemed to wear an expression of worry and pity. What a laugh, he can't honestly care; Emeara thought to herself, sighing inward. The Xingese commoner pulled her arm free and took another few steps away from the fellow alchemist. Before trying to leave completely, Eme turned to Ed with a knowing frown,

"I don't know where I'm going, to be honest. I just know that I have to keep moving..." Emeara felt her voice trail off as another flashback suddenly appeared in her mind;

*Flashback: Eme-chan's POV*

'Great, yet another memory.' I thought to myself as I waited for the flashback to be over. Although what I typically expected to come didn't. This flashback was...different from the others I had had in the past.

I scanned my surroundings with my green eyes only to realize I was no longer outside with Edward, Greed, and those two chimera guys. I was in what seemed to be a dark room. In it was a single bed, a desk with random objects upon it, a light, and...At that moment, something on the floor caught my eye. What I saw made my heart drop to my stomach.

"A transmutation circle...?" I asked myself, trembling. Then I heard a familiar voice come from beside me,

"There. Finished!"

I looked over only to see myself standing beside me. Only myself didn't notice me which meant I wasn't really where I thought I was. My mind was. Which meant, this memory I was experiencing head on. Not physically of course but mentally. Such a thing had never happened before, which surprised me. As I studied my other self with squinted eyes, I noticed I was a bit shorter and younger looking then what I am now. Which meant one thing; The girl in front of me was a younger version of myself.

I analyzed my surroundings once more and then realized; I had had this flashback before. No...I don't want to see this again...

"Once I bring her back, Shen can meet her. Then we can all live happily together..." My younger self clapped her hands and slammed them onto the wooden flood at the center of the chalk-drawn circle. In a matter of seconds, blue light lit up the room and a massive wind circled around myself.

'No...it can't be...Not this again...' I thought to myself, tears forming in my eyes.

Just like I had remembered from other flashbacks; The blue light faded to an eerie black light and the wind went straight at me. Then the door to the room burst open, revealing my dead boyfriend Shen. A look of horror appeared on his face when he saw what I had done. I was attempting human transmutation to bring Naraku, my twin sister, back. That was one of the things I had remembered during my time in the homunculi home. However, this memory would have been one best forgotten...

"Emeara...!" Shen cried as he ran from the door and covered me, using his own body as a shield.

A big flash of light blinded me from seeing what happened next but it soon faded. What I noticed next made me scream. Just like in the flashback before, I sat there on the floor, covered in blood; A half-dead Shen lying before me with emotionless eyes staring back at me. To the center of the room seemed to be a mysterious, disgusting figure moving around, clawing at the crimson wood as it breathed. That thing was suppose to be my sister that I had attempted to bring back.

"S-Shen...?" I asked in a shaky voice as he reached up to stroke my bloody cheek.

As he always did, Shen tried to smile but this time, no smile would come. He held only one look on his face; And that look is one I can never forget for as long as I live. He looked shocked and disappointed at the same time. As tears streamed down my face, Shen mumbled only four words,

"Thank God...you're safe..." At that, Shen's hand dropped to the floor and then, he was dead.

While my younger self shook Shen's dead body, unknowing as to what just happened, I dropped to my knees and sobbed. Remembering the anxiety and horror I felt the day Shen died. It was true. I had killed him. That pain would never go away. No matter how badly I wanted to. This flashback...this DAY marked the one thing I should have always known. Not even Shen's past words could make me believe I wasn't this anymore; I AM a monster...

I ceased my crying for a moment to look up and see the door to my old bedroom bust open once more. Only this time it revealed Fu, Ling, and Lan Fan. They hadn't even taken a step inside the room before looks of dismay appeared on their faces. My younger self looked up from hugging Shen's dead body and stared insanely at the three,

"...I...I didn't mean to...I..."

Fu saw my face and motioned for Ling and Lan Fan to wait outside. They reluctantly walked out of the room, leaving Fu there as he stared back at me. I then remembered what I had felt at that actual moment. I feared he would be horribly furious with me...just like he had been when I had hurt Shen during alchemy practice. But it was quite the opposite in fact.

"Fu...I...What happened, I mean I-"

I was then interrupted by the old man pulling me away from Shen's body and bringing me into a tight hug. As he held me, I saw Fu stare down at Shen's corpse and shut his eyes for a moment. Then he broke the hug but didn't release my shoulders. Fu pulled out a kunai and punished a killing blow into the strange creature that should have been Naraku. After he had killed it, Fu turned back to me, his eyebrows perched upward in sorrow.

"Come." He spoke, putting one of his arms around my trembling shoulders. It was then that he began to help me walk out of the room. But once we reached the doorway and I realized what he was doing, I quickly tried to run back over to Shen but was caught by Fu as he tried to hold me back,

"N-NGHHHH! LET ME GO!" I screamed at the old man who simply pushed me out the door and held me against a wall, "NOO! LET GO-LET GOOO! SHEN! SHEN!"

My widened eyes wandered over to Ling and Lan Fan who had appeared back with some of the Emperor's guards. They entered the bedroom and went over to Shen, which only infuriated me even more.

As I continued to kick and scream at Fu, tears poured from my eyes as Fu lowered his head, clenching his teeth as he did so. Ling and Lan Fan simply looked from me and then over to the dead Shen the guards carried out of the room. As they took my love away, I felt my heart break and I found myself now screaming in sync with my past self,

"NO! DON'T TAKE HIM AWAY FROM ME! PLEASE...PLEASE DON'T GO...SHEN~"

At that, the flashback ended...

*End flashback and back to regular story mode*

"AH!" Emeara screamed, shooting up from the ground she had seemed to be laying on.

"Emeara?" The familiar voice of Edward Elric came from beside the girl and she turned her head to see him sitting beside her with a scared look on his face,

"E...Ed...?" She choked out, through her tears.

Ed forced a smile and a man behind Ed handed him a tissue. With it, the alchemist dabbed Emeara's eyes and face. The girl moved to see who it was that had handed Ed said tissue and she immediately recognized as it to be one of the chimera men from earlier.

"What...What happened...?" Eme asked, taking the tissue from Ed and wiping the sweat away.

"You fainted..." Heinkel answered, who seemed to be over by a campfire.

Ed nodded, "Yeah, you had begun to say something and then you just dropped to the ground like that."

"So my new henchmen begged and PLEADED to let you stay with us for the night. It was pathetic. But I accepted and after setting up camp, you woke up soon after." Greed spoke in what seemed almost like an amused tone. Ed shot a glare at the homunculus but ignored his tone and looked back to his friend,

"Are you okay? You were screaming in your sleep."

Emeara swallowed hard as she remembered the flashback/dream. The commoner faked a smile and shrugged as she tried to hold in the anxiety. Ed noticed her poor attempt and frowned annoyingly,

"Cut the crap. What happened that made you scream so loud?"

The smile on her face didn't fall as she answered, "It was nothing. I have to get going..." Emeara rose and quickly darted off into the woods. As she ran, Eme could hear Ed scream her name as well as Greed and the others stand up.

"I have to keep moving...faster...faster..." Eme continued to run as hard as she could but the anxiety from earlier wouldn't go away.

Then at that moment, Eme heard her inner monster speak to her like it had done a few months prier; And what it said caused Emeara to feel as if she broke into a million pieces...

"You can run all you like. But you will never escape the painful memories of the loss of your sister and your boyfriend. No matter how fast you run."

Despite what the voice had said, Eme continued running but soon tripped on a single branch. Within a matter of seconds, she fell to the ground. Panting, Eme looked up and then around to see trees surrounding her. Then she looked up at the wide moon, overlooking her. The girl stared up for a moment before her horrified look turned to a miserable one and she let out scream, louder then the one she had given the day Shen died...

To be continued....
