Aura: The Respark

I, the sheltered child who started to tragically fall from your grace

Into the void of this sudden loneliness
Realizing I followed every single one of your steps
But yet, I failed to hold onto those uplifting moments

Now I feel as if maybe I had forced you to make every one of those promises
That   which   you   still   kept

So I don't want to sound dishonest, but out of us, you are the strongest
You   make   sure   to   protect

To you, everyone, and everything is dearest
None   left   to   neglect

But with all of that, you take on those heavy burdens
And   try   your   best

Calling out your name into the nothingness
Forgetting about the peace you bestowed upon me
I guess it's just too hard to be away from your embrace

I, the wayward child who has regretfully fallen astray
-
You, the selfless protector who has done everything

Lending your gentle hands wherever it's needed
Without limiting the extent of your kindness
It's as if the hope you carry is boundless

So rare for someone to know nothing of greed
It's   never   for   your   own   benefit

It's hard to find someone who truly believes
Giving   up   on   no-one   just   yet

Forever passing on the luxury of relief
Such   importance   of   every   single   friend

You just absorb all of the consuming grief
Yet   you   have   nothing   to   resent

Looking out for those who are in need
Sometimes one desires a comforting shoulder to weep
But you consider all only human, for there is no such thing as weak

You, the kindhearted protector who asks for nothing
-
I, the lost child who is longing to reunite

Looking for the light that I used to know
For I can no longer stand here alone
And this may be far as I can go

I know you would never let me fall on purpose
Get   rid   of   this   stinging   doubt

You're looking for me, I'm certain
The   love   I   cannot   go   without

Though I don't want to be another problem
Maybe   it's   best   to   give   up   now

A hero like yourself is not always perfect
Mistakes   should   be   allowed   to   the   devout

You need to know I still want you in my life
Because I still need your shoulder to cry on sometimes
I'm not ready to be away from you yet, so I'm going to brighten up the night

I, the shimmering-eyed child who will respark the lost light
I know you'd help me find the way
Yearning for the moments where I take your hand again
I believed in you the entire time
Desiring to once again see your light

This poem is just amazing. Was this poem inspired by someone you knew, or did the idea come to you? I'm just curious. You did an incredible job, and the picture fits so well. Keep up the excellent work!
