Description:

His eyes and hair are both black, indicating that he's probably Asian. He claims, though, that he is of British descent. It's just hard to tell because usually he's all covered up under his poncho. His poncho is checkred and covers most of his body. It is rumored that he doesn't wear anything underneath that poncho but nobody had the nerve to go strip him to make sure.

His ushanka, that fluffy hat, has the logo of his element sewn in. His tracker is on his left foot.

Personality:

Taciturn: He doesn't say anything much. Whenever he does talk, it's either one word phrase. So he gives off either aura of mystery or just annoyance with his one-word sentences. The thing is, he sometimes shifts to talking in Old English and at that time it's near impossible to understand him.

Expressionless: He is incapable of showing off alot of emotions. Whenever a woman flirts with him, a person shouts at him, or thanks him for whatever he usually nods... or maybe don't do anything at all and just walk away.

Considerate: Although he may seem cold-hearted and distant, he's actually quite the softie. He's the guy that will rescue every cat from the street and walk every old lady across the street. He doesn't want anything in return and if he receives a gift from someone, he will probably just give it someone else that might need it more than him.

History:

Ryne was in fact a Japanese who lived in a Sengen shrine at summit of the mountain. He was an abandoned child left in front of the shrine and one of the shrine maiden adopted him. Sengen Shrines like these were common site near Mount Fuji area, dedicated to Princess Konohanasakuya, the Shinto deity associated with Mount Fuji. The elderly maiden named him Kicho at that time, meanig precious. He learned to how to take care of others and the virtue of silence, which later contributes to his intervoert and taciturn personlaity. This Sengen shrine, however, was becoming decrepit. With the harumful radiation, Ryne watched with sadness the deterioration of the beautiful shrine day by day. He was also horrified by the daily death toll of the human race and passed his lonely days by taking care of birds and other wild animals that were still living in the moutnain.

Sadly the shrine maiden died as well from the radiation when Ryne was 13. He became lonlier and he already decided to spend his last days peacefully with his animals in the chaotic world. Then a certain British scholar came to the shrine. He was an elderly man and had come all the way to Japan to visit Mt. Fuji. He didn't have much to live and had come to Mt. Fuji to gain some spiritual peace. He was surprised at first by seeing only a 13 year old boy taking care of the shrine but soon he was charmed by Ryne's hospitaliy. Ryne never turned down anyone and he certainly wasn't going to let this pitiful old man die by his lonesome self. During his time in the shrine, the British scholar told Ryne many things: about the world, his now dead family, and his speciality in studying Old English. Ryne listened with interest and in turn showed his new friend his animal friends and many secret beauties of the mountain.

Thus a year passed. The old man's health became so bad that he couldn't get up from bed. It was then that the old man revelaed his special power: his element, Ununseptium. He was one of the Children of the Elements and told Ryne about the experiemnts he went through after people found out that he had elemental powers and how he was finally freed from them when all the doctors died. He hid his identity and married a normal British woman to start a normal life.

"My dear boy... if it's alright with you, I want to pass this power on to you."

"This power was a curse to me but... I believe you have to power to turn this into a blessing."

Ryne didn't understand much of this but the old man looked so despearate that he agreed to ease his sadness.

After gaining the old man's power, Ryne discovered new things. He became faster and stronger. With his newfound strength, he wanted to changed the world. He sought to protect his shrine and turn his power into a blessing to bring peace to the world once again. He left the shrine, with only a katana in hand.



Weapon:

His sword, or more specifically a katana, is a old heirloom in the shrine. It was called Nagayuki (良長幸), smithed by one of the finest swordsmiths, Tatara Nagayuki (多々良長幸). He only started to use the katana when he gained his powers and for the last 5 years he had been honing his skills as a katana wielder. The main point of his tactic is speed and number; how fast can he move and how many slashes or stroke can he carry in a given time. Although he is self-taught, with his enhanced elemntal strenth, he is a foe to be feared.

Powers

Ryne is able to gain speed of light momentarily and his attack strength increases dramatically. Ununseptium is a short-lived radioactive element so this only lasts about 10 seconds but as it is also a super heavy elemnt, his blade stroke carries great force. After one usage of this power, Ryne needs 1 minute 17 seconds to charge.

Miscellaneous:

-His name means "mysterious" in Old English.
-During the integration, some of the Old Man's knowledge also integrated into Ryne. That's why he talks in Old English sometimes.
