Personality: Generally a calm, restrained person, Alex tries to be as much of a pacifist as possible, and will break up fights if he sees one. If he's pressured, however, he won't give in. The lad's a boy genius and master strategist. Can be usually found either working on his custom plane or playing his flute, which he is quite good at. Doesn't smoke, but is a moderate drinker. Speaks in a soft Irish brogue, but becomes thicker if he's stressed, angry, or excited. Best way to relieve stress is flying. Hates the ocean for unspecified reasons. Is also slightly superstitious.
After the battle of Sinnoh, he has changed slightly. He is still very calm, but is not as cheerful as he once was. He also can get emotional rather quick.

Background:
Alex grew up in small Mauville City with his mother and father. From very young, he showed much potential, and was soon found to be very good at chess. His parents, taking advantage of this, whisked him off to every available chess match they could find. Even at six years old, he was incredible and amassed a small fortune in prize money. Nonetheless, he had a good, privileged childhood.

When he was ten, an airshow came to town. Alex's parents took him, and he was enthralled by the winged machines performing loops and tricks through the air. His future became clear. At age 13, he disassembled and reassembled his father's car engine, much to his dad's shock. At 16, he received a pilot's license and put a moderate dent in his prize earnings to purchase his own biplane, a relic from the Great War named the Raccoon . At 18, he became a licensed airplane mechanic and pilot for a small airmail company. After three years, he was chief pilot and was looking on moving towards Mossdeep Aerospace. Life was looking good.

Then the war came.

Alex wanted nothing to do with the war, and as his colleagues and neighbors joined, he chose to stay out. Besides, he had coincidentally sprained his ankle in a rough landing earlier, thus making him unsuitable for flight. But as wartime restrictions hit hard, and Mossdeep's facility closed, Alex found himself out of a job and starting to get in a pinch. He began to wonder if he had made the right decision.

The Battle for Unova changed all that.

When the news hit Alex, he was shocked of the chaos that had occurred during the battle. Hearing of air squadrons scattered like flies and hopelessly seperated made him concerned of the war's future, and what it meant for him and Hoenn. He realized he could do something. As a master strategist and expert pilot, he could easily help with reconnaissance and battle strategy. Leaving his parents, town, and country behind, Alex embarked in the Raccoon for Johto, and the Air Force. Impressed by his resoluteness, he was accepted and got to work on his modified Spitfire, the Raccoon II . With cameras and high-altitude gear, he is ready to help save the lives of Johto airmen.

WAR UPDATE:
Alex has crashed twice in the war. The first was during Ecruteak, when he learned of the Rogues. The second almost killed him. Crashing into Mt. Coronet in Sinnoh, he was saved from the brink of death by a Lucario that lived nearby. During this process, the two formed a superstrong bond between each other. This bond enables them to share pain, emotions, thoughts- and has also granted Alex the ability to feel and manipulate aura- if only a limited amount. His life has been turned upside down due to this, and only time can tell how bad the damage is.

Tabby has only one thing in mind: win. She will never give up, and always wants to fight. She was "recruited" when she was caught off guard by officials, and has been resenting humans since. She tends to do what she wants and steer clear of Alex. Not that it matters. At 30,000 feet, the only place she will be is in her Pokeball.

After Sinnoh, Alex decided to train up Tabatha in case he ever needed defense. She quickly evolved- but kept her resentment to her trainer at bay. She still holds grudges, but will not state why she does not all out attack him.

Clyde actually came over with Alex. When he was 15, the little guy ventured right into Alex's backyard. Having not many real friends, Alex got used to the creature and fed it berries from his mother's garden. Eventually his mother found out, but she realized this beast wouldn't harm her son, and allowed Alex to keep him. Clyde is the namesake for Alex's biplane and Spitfire. Spends most of his time in Alex's tent, as he does not have a Pokeball and wouldn't last at high altitudes. Clyde is a rather lazy creature, and although he explores every now and then, he prefers to nap and eat.

Conchobar was a wild Lucario living in a cave on Sinnoh's Mt. Coronet. He had a peaceful life, which was interrupted during a snowstorm with a violent crash. Investigating, he found the remains of some machine buried in the snow. He realized that the machine held a creature, and he quickly freed it. Finding that the unconscious human's aura was fading rapidly, he decided to help the man- it was unjust to let an innocent creature perish in such a way.

While trying to heal Alex, however, Conchobar accidentally caused a massive bond to form between the two, as their auras intertwined. The human recovered, but both were significantly changed.

Conchobar followed the human in his trek down the mountain, both out of worry, and also guilt for any damage that he had caused. When he helped Alex to a military patrol, he was promptly captured.

Conchobar is now Alex's copilot, and sits behind him in a new plane. He is interested in all of the new aura sources around him, and the change in the environment. He had gotten a taste of the human world through Alex, and he has decided to explore it a little further.
