Chrysalis

This is me sharing. On the left is the Chrysalis of a caterpillar morphing into a Butterfly on the back porch post in my backyard. I freaked out because it looks metallic - literally - and like a piece of jewelry! So I'm watching it. 5 days later (today) it's now much darker - orange and gold and brown. They say about 10-14 days before the butterfly is born, breaks out with wet wings and dries itself before flying. I hope to check it daily and record any visual changes and just MAYBE get lucky enough to photograph it as it exits, dries and just MAYBE flying. How cool would that be in the end? So forgive this image not being artistic so much as scientific and well, just me sharing at yet more beauty discovered in the smallest of places.
