Deathstalker the Scorpion

I'm pretty sure I've asked this but is it weird to absolutely love your characters? Because I love this guy, seriously fucking love him. For days I was stuck on his design, apart from the tail, but I finally got it down. I originally wanted him to have no known backstory, but as usual, once I drew him out I couldn't help but just write out his origin. Damn me and my strange love and attachment to my fictional characters. >.<

His name and color scheme is based on the deathstalker scorpion, an actual species, which I thought was just the perfect name for a scorpion assassin. Come on.

Deathstalker the Scorpion, real name unknown, 36, is a Mobian scorpion assassin and mercenary. Born in the Dragon Kingdom, was the runt of his family (his tail being normal size but the rest of his body being much smaller) and his claw arms never developed properly. He was often teased by his siblings and ran away one evening. However when he came back nearly right away, a local crime lord to whom his father owed a lot of money came to collect. When he couldn't, the crime lord killed his entire family.

Over the next few years, Deathstalker trained as an assassin and infiltrated the crime lord's organization as a recruit, slowly making up the ranks until he was promoted to personal bodyguard, at which point he got his revenge. Not knowing what else to do with his life, he took up the name "Deathstalker" and became a gun for hire. His kill of the crime lord earned him a stunning reputation while gaining him many jobs. He is an expert in dual wielding, using two katanas stolen from a Gossamer spider ninja (along with his shoulder piece), cross blades on his forearms guards and a mechanical backpack that unfolds into four spider legs, giving him greater maneuverability and speed.

He views himself as a tool and justifies that he cannot be held responsible for the lives taken while under contract, as they fall under the responsibility of his clients. The only murders he does take credit for are those related to his killing of the crime boss who killed his family. He justifies that, while under contract, he is the murder weapon simply acting upon his client, the murderer's, intentions and wishes, much like a knife or gun.Despite his cold murderous demeanor, Stalker is not without a heart and does have a soft spot for children. In fact, he refuses any work that involves harming kids. This affection towards children likely stems from how his own childhood was taken from him following the murder of his family and his desire to prevent other children from living his trauma and turning out like him.

Most recently, he's been spotted very often at Casino Night Club working as Mammoth Mogul's personal bodyguard.
