Their New Beginning chapter 1

  It had been a week since Walter Reed and Molly escaped Rapture, no longer bonded by force, they were together by choice. Tenenbaum had helped them start their new lives together on the surface. Tenenbaum had taken Walter to a plastic surgeon to reconstruct his face the way it was in the picture he had shown her back in Rapture. The surgery was a success, but for the damage done to his vocal cords there was no solution. His vocal cords were permanently damaged during the Big Daddy process. For Walter to be able to communicate, he had to learn sign language. The pair had moved to a small village called,"Mary's Point" on the east coast. They lived in a small house near the ocean. Walter had gotten a job at a metal shop in Mary's Point and Molly was enrolled at the Mary's Point High School with her new name, Molly Reed. Everything  was going fine until Molly began to have nightmares. Molly may have told Walter she only remembered him saving her as Zeta once, but her subconscious held every moment when she was a Little Sister. Walter would wake up in the middle of the night hearing Molly crying and whimpering. To calm her down Walter would sit next to her on her bed and stroke her hair and moan like when he was a Big Daddy. He would also play a lullaby on his harmonica to help her back to sleep. And in the morning Molly would wake up and she would be perfectly fine.

    Early Tuesday morning Walter woke up, showered, put on his work clothes and went to the kitchen and made coffee. When the coffee was percolating he sat down and read the morning paper. When he finished reading he poured himself a cup full. He heard Molly walking down the hallway tiredly. She made her way to the small table and rested her head on the table, her hair covering her face. Walter patted her head and she looked up at him to see his smile. It saying to her "Good Morning." "What's for breakfast?" Molly said resting her head back on the table. Walter stood up from the table, got a bowl and spoon and layed them in front of her. He then went to the cupboard and took a box of cereal out and a carton of milk from the refridgarator. He set them also in front of her. She lifted her head, seeing everything in front of her. She poured her cereal and milk into the bowl. She dug in her spoon and took a bite. She made a face and asked,"Do we have any sugar?" Walter looked in the cupboards and didn't find any. He shook his and moaned. Walter signed to Molly to finish her cereal and get dressed for school. She said "Alright" and finished her bowl and put it in the sink and went to her room to get ready for school.
