HG-OCT Tress Galton Reference

This is pretty sad since with art I am extremely visually challenged. Keep in mind that I am a writer, not a visual artist. Anyway, here is my reupload with some visuals this time.

Token: A small piece of rusted metal from District 12's elevator to the coal mines. This elevator is otherwise known as the "Shaft to Hell". It was stolen by his father several years ago in case Tress would ever be chosen in the Reaping. Tress has never seen it until the day of the reaping, when his mother slipped it into his hand. "It's not much," she had said, giving it a quick kiss, "but it's something." It is not attached to a chain and is therefore very easily lost.

Personality: Tress is bold and funny around his small group of dedicated friends, but is very shy and cautious in front of large amounts of people. However, this reserved behavior is often perceived as simply "cute" or "charming" by strangers. He understands that this can be used to his advantage, so he upkeeps his shyness in hopes that strangers will be more accepting of him. Smart and dedicated, he puts schoolwork and creative endeavors first, choosing academics or crafts ahead of games his friends play. Tress can often times be too trustworthy, forgetting that not everyone is his friend. As a child, Tress played hide-and-go-seek with his sister, and was almost never found due to his advantageous mixture of flexibility and cleverness. Overall, Tress is clever and sly and a likable person.

Physical Description: Tress has a pleasant skin color, not having a deathly pallor but without a deep tan. He is usually of a healthy weight, but sometimes teeter-totters the line between too skinny and healthy. His muscles are non-impressive and do not bulge out, but he is slightly stronger than most of his friends. Tress usually wears a simple brown or white shirt with heavy shorts of cotton. His hair is of medium length and rather messy. His hair color is already "dirty", but he rarely washes it, so his hair looks especially dirty. He has a large scar on his left arm from an incident with a blade sticking up out of the ground when he was three.

Biography: Born in District 12, he has lived in the same small house with his parents for his entire life. He lives in an unnamed area of District 12 on the boundary between the Seam and where the Merchants live. He has never felt community identity. Deep inside, he feels more of a connection to District 7: lumber. Often times, he will venture into the woods close to his house-sometimes illegally- just to relax or draw. Quite the artiste, Tress enjoys painting the best, but is too poor to afford paint. Instead, he has a set of pencils and paper that he uses to draw, mostly drawing nature scenes and birds in the woods. His family has a history of having children early; his grandmother had his mother at age 16 and she had him at age 14. He aspires to have children of his own so they can have a better life than he had.

Strengths: Very clever. He can think of odd solutions to problems that no one else would. He is also flexible, being able to fit or contort into small spaces. Tress is not muscular, but has a surprising amount of strength for his appearance. He can hide himself almost anywhere and become very quiet.

Weaknesses: He has brittle bones and a history of osteoporosis in his family. He can become scarred emotionally very quickly, and seeing someone from the same district die would be unbearable, probably sending him crying. Tress would most likely never initiate violence, instead waiting for someone to strike first. This could be very bad for the only somewhat-strong Tress.

Additional Information: His nickname is taken from his first initial and his middle name. "Talton Ress" was taken from a very old map of a pre-Panem North America his mother found underneath the floorboards in her house. Ress was the mapmaker's name and Talton was the name of a town where District 12 now lies. Talton also rhymes with Galton, the last name of Tress' father.
