As if the people of Prontera didn't have enough going on in their daily lives, full of adventures, broken promises -and weapons and equipment-, budding romance and brutal heartache, hidden agendas and blissful dreams, a shining cockroach emerged, scurrying about the city. Due to the greater crises in other towns, more adventurers left to quell those threats, leaving the often ignored Golden Thief Bug around to run amok. This particular bug was different, however, for it was practically three times its normal size. Oddly enough, it appeared in the Prontera Pub right after a sneeze from a sobbing and laughably drunk Kafra wearing a blinder. Not bothering to ask questions, the people worked at keeping innocents away from its scuttling wrath, thankful that it still wasn't aggressive, merely looting all sorts of items with its posse of Male Thief Bug minions, who were also triple their size. Those that tried to face off against it were in for a very rude awakening, unfortunately. With great size came great power, and the Golden Thief Bug was certainly stronger than the adventurers that underestimated it. Demolishing the exit, the Giant Golden Cockroach began to explore the city for shiny objects to take away, trampling over many innocent bystanders and merchants without remorse.

Royal Guard Ayra Kazunari was one of the main defenders, assisting with getting people to their homes and slaying stray Male Thief Bugs that attacked people for trying to recover their stolen items. She lent a hand as much as she could, sparing the lives of vending adventurers with little to nil battle experience and joining battles to stop clusters of the green roaches, wasting the hordes in one to two swings of her Crescent Scythe. Ayra's issue with people had to be put on hold, and she had little problem casting her worries aside. Though she avoided interaction, this was a matter of saving lives. There was no time to be selfish, shy or scared now. It was time to prove that she would be worthy to take her rightful place in the Holy War for Odin's Forces. After slaying a Thief Bug that knocked out a child, cleaving its carcass in half in one stroke, Ayra clutched her Rosary, turning it to its side to reveal that it was also a whistle. Blowing into it, she waited a few moments, collecting the child in her arm and looking prepared to jump. The screech of a pink-armored Gryphon made itself heard, flapping its way towards her pink-clad owner. "Aura! Here!" Ayra called out, leaping just enough as her Gryphon drew near, quickly saddling on and holding the child in front to rush to the Inn.

Finished with her delivery, Ayra began to ride around to see if more good can be done. It wasn't long before she chanced upon the large Golden Thief Bug, itself, confronting a male Mastersmith standing at the ready. Nearby was a male Priest and a young Alchemist girl, fleeing the scene as the Mastersmith his ground. Unfortunately, his eyes wavered too much, barely able to react when the Golden Roach took a swing at him. The Mastersmith managed to parry the blow, but paid for his lapse of focus, his Doomslayer knocked out of his hands and tumbling over to the side. The Priest and Alchemist girl were safely away, but the Mastersmith found himself unable to move, staring up to the monstrous bug as if his life flashed before his eyes. From a distance, the Gryphon-mounted Royal Guard found herself trying to mentally will the man to move, scolding him for freezing up after displaying such bravery, earlier. She grit her teeth, involuntarily casting Exceed Break as she gripped her scythe, hoping the Mastersmith would get up and run, or at least rush to grab his axe. Unable to watch someone perish, she urged her Gryphon onward.

The Mastersmith crawled back more as the Golden Thief Bug encroached on him, ready to ram into him again until a loud battle shout roared out at it. "Pinpoint Attack !!" cried the pink-clad Royal Guard, lunging from her Gryphon and slashing the face of the roach with great force, making a very visible crack in its gold plating. Reeling back in pain, the Golden Thief Bug tried to retaliate, but had its arms dodged and parried by Ayra's swift movements, holding its last attacking arm in place and looking back to the Mastersmith, rare emotion showing. "What are you doing?! Get up and fight!" she sternly commanded, the Mastersmith finally snapping out of his stupor. The Golden Thief Bug reared back, preparing for some new attack as the Mastersmith rose to retrieve his axe, looking back to see if the Royal Guard was okay. He watched as she quickly dug into her gauntlet, pulling out two vials of what appeared to be Holy Water. Raising them over her head and reciting a short prayer, she poured the contents onto her head and her body, a white shine taking form over her. "Piety!!" The technique was right on time, as the Bug began to breathe fire, blowing a Fireball right at her. Though the Mastersmith worried that her lack of a shield would be detrimental, he was surprised to see her shrug it off so well.

Collecting himself, he stood side by side with her, noticing that she now had an emotionless expression, wondering if she changed that quickly. "I owe ya my life, Royal Guard...sorry about that. I'll fight," he thanked her, now glaring at the Golden Thief Bug, their common foe starting to screech aloud. "Name's Rightheart...or jus' Right. You?" Keeping her eyes on the giant insect, she replied with one, emotionless word, "Ayra." With that, Right slammed his axe into the ground, gathering his power and sharing it with his impromptu 'exterminator' partner. "Power-Thrust!!" Both began to summon up their respective abilities as the Golden Thief Bug, whose screeches summoned Male Thief Bugs to join it, began to charge at them. "Prestige!" "Adrenaline Rush!" "Endure!" "Power Maximize!" Shouts of preparation rang forth between the two warriors as they began their attack, Right taking the initiative to make up for earlier. "Hammerfall!!" he yelled with great fury, smashing his Doomslayer into the ground, stunning the smaller Thief Bugs as the Gold one arrived, forging ahead to it. That gave his Royal Guard ally the opening she needed, Right out of her range and ready to drop the green roaches. With a short wind up, she quickly spun in place, twice, lowering her scythe to cut away at the nefarious insects. "Moonslasher!!" Right had already begun hacking his way along the body of the Golden Thief Bug and Ayra began to supplement his fury with her own, her movements showing elegance as she spun in place once more, seemingly striking from a distance. "Banishing Point!" Rightheart had to let up on his strikes, however, appearing to take damage with every blow. "Damn, I ain't got my cart with me for this..." the Mastersmith lamented, recognizing the ability as the same one shield bearing Crusaders use. "I ain't gonna last too long like this...I may need...Slot's help..." he said with a bit of disgust in his voice at the name as Ayra continued her ranged assault. "Hope we can get some extra help here, soon!"
Ayra assists townspeople and makes a daring save, even showcasing a rare bit of emotion! Can she withstand the might of an abnormally large Golden Thief Bug?
