Description

For :iconshareart:'s My worst nightmare contest.

I sat back and thought long and hard what my worst nightmare would be, the worst possible thing that could happen to me (aside from death- that's too obvious), and the worst thing I could come up with was if my  didn't love me anymore. So thus, this was born.

You requested this piece to be critiqued from FeedbackFrenzy, so here I am .

The concept of the photo is very nice . The message is a personal one, & the title obviously indicates that the message is for, which is lovely . I feel that the title & the words you chose make a good, flowing story . The concept you chose isn't entirely original, but it's still a beautiful thing to shoot & took some creativity on your part, so kudos.!
The paper is simple, yet it holds true to the message . The texture you added by folding & unfolding it was a nice touch, because unlike those photos that have perfect, smooth paper with writing on it, this one has an intensity about it . The audience feels as though we are looking at a piece of paper that has been read countless times & it brings a sadness about it that a perfect piece of paper wouldn't have brought . These words obviously hurt, & we can see that from a detail you chose to add, that most probably wouldn't have thought of . Everything ties in perfectly with the story, which is exactly what an artist wants out of their artwork . You did a wonderful job with that .

As for the negative points I need to critique within the image, I'll be very honest about them . Firstly, the colour of the counter(?) is quite dull & uninteresting . The horrid yellow colour just doesn't bring anything to the image itself because it's not appealing to look at . Perhaps you should have played around with colour, in which I believe monochrome would have been the best option for a photo like this . Black & white could have made this image POP & gotten rid of the yellow, keeping the polka dot detail it has .
The composition isn't bad, with the paper in the middle of the frame, yet I would have preferred if you had shot it at the top right corner or bottom left . This is just my personal preference, however -- something to keep in mind . Things don't always have to be straight in the center to be good, & it being off in a corner could have brought more creativity to the piece . Other then that, you did a good job . The message is the best part, now all you have to do is work on bringing the editing to a point where it enhances your work.!

Happy shooting :]
