You want a cute little foal? Or you have finaly be able to buy that dream slot to that hunk a stallion? Then this is the right place to need to know everything about breeding, how to do it and it's risks :p

Before we go to baby making

A few things ;p

1. stallions have 10 breeding slots, mares have 5 breeding slots. More slots can be obtained trough the Tari'an system, events, etc ...

2. Be sure your name is listed on the breeding list of the horse. This is listed on the ref image drawn by the owner! (not the import sheet).
If your name is not on that list, we are not sure if you officially have the right to breed that horse. So no name on the list = no breeding (until fixed)

3. Be sure that every horse has the following template in it's ref sheet. This is needed to calculate the inbreeding risk (and to calculate possible mutations :p or bad side effects)

------------------------------------------ SSS: ...
----------------- SS: ...
------------------------------------------ SSD: ...
Sire: ...
------------------------------------------ SDS: ...
----------------- SD: ...
------------------------------------------ SDD: ...
------------------------------------------ DSS: ...
----------------- DS: ...
------------------------------------------ DSD: ...
Dam: ...
------------------------------------------ DSS: ...
----------------- DD: ...
------------------------------------------ DDD: ...

4. Be sure, if you want to use items, that you already bought them! We do not accept buying in a breeding note (to confusing) so buy the item first, then do the breeding!

How to breed a foal?

This is the only official why to send in a breeding.
EVERY breeding must be send to the group, to receive an ID and genotype. You do not generate your own foals.

1. Send the following form to the group with title: BREEDING
Link to stallion's ref:
Link to mare's ref:
Any items using?:
2. Any items are deducted from your bank

3. You shall receive 2 geno's rolled at random. In case of twins, you shall receive a second pair to make a pick.

4. Pick the geno you want. gender is up to you!
To design the foal, please use this lineart only! (and use the right background please)

Inbreeding and it's risks

Yes, this breed does allow inbreeding! Yet, just as in Real Life, this can be very unhealthy ... or maybe deliver you something nice to play with.

We want you to know that inbreeding is mainly gonna result in foal's with health trouble if not to stillborn foals. This makes that it can happen that your mare doesn't deliver a living foal! (and yes, that takes a breeding slot away)

So keep the risks in mind before you try this out and don't complain when your foal is born dead. Risk = Risk!

The inbreeding level
As you already read, we asked you to add that little bloodline template on your horse it's ref. That small template is gonna be used to calculate your foal's inbreeding level.

Inbreeding is calculated by how close the horses are related to each other. I guess it's logical to say that when you breed a father to his daughter, you are gonna have much more change to get a sickly foal then when you breed a great-grandfather to his great-grandchild ...

To keep it somewhat 'fun' we are not gonna reveal any inbreeding levels and it's risk! As each breeding is gonna be different, depending on the length of the lineage, the result can be really random.

Deadly colors?
We want to address that not only inbreeding can cause effects, but also breeding certain colors...

1. LWS = Lethal White Syndrome AKA Lethal White Overo.
This is a deadly decease that is linked to the O (Overo) gene.
A Oo horse isn't gonna have any risk, yet OO born foals always die within the next 24h.
So an OO foal = dead foal

2. Dominant White.
Homozygous dom white (WW) is lethal and shall result in a abortion of the foal. This means the foal is never born (yet it shall take a breeding slot)

3. Chocolate gene + Fruit/Jewel gene
For an unknown reason, the combination of the chocolate gene, combined with the Fruit gene or jewel gene shall result in a stillborn foal.

4. Fruit + Jewel
For an unknown reason, the combination of the Fruit gene with the jewel gene shall result in a stillborn foal.

5. Genebomb mutation gened horse
When a horse has more then 5 different mutation genes, there is a change the foal risks health issues, lower fertility, ... to deceased foals.
(Example: nBf nFwl nBs cvcv nnebs nle (butterfly, fallow, bloodstained, carnival, nebula splash (C), leopard eye (C))

6. Splash gene
When the white of the splash gene covers the ears of the foal, it's possible the foal turns out deaf in those ears (decided by owners)

Inbreeding risks
This is a list of what can all happen to the foal.

- teeth overgrow
- under bite
- over bite
- Hoof overgrow
- split hooves
- oversize ears
- undersized ears
- no ears
- overcurled ears
- non curled ears
- deafness
- mute
- baldness (no hair at all)
- new color mutations

:bulletblack: General health
- deceased foal
- bad longs (age restriction)
- weak heart (age restriction)
- weak bones (age restriction)
- personality disorder
- Photosensitivity (headaches, possible burnwounds, ... cause by bright light)
- color blind
- infertility
- Hermaphrodite (high infertility change)
- Auto immune disease (age restriction)
- epilepsy
- paralyzed
- temperature sensitivity (high and low temperature variations)
- Inner ear trouble (balance trouble)

F.A.Q

Have any question? Feel free to ask :aww:

Q: what is the difference between having a foal born with extra eyes and one who receives extra eyes by a gem effect?
A: The answer is the involved magic. Gems were created to add special things and effects to the horse. This magic prevents health issues.
So extra eyes caused by a gem has no health issue, while extra eyes received due inbreeding does.

Q: Are there special linearts for some of the inbreeding risks?
A: No, that would create a away to huge file for people to work with ^^;
When a 'risk' is given, we expect that the owner also draws this on it's ref! (certainly for physical risks)
Yet all risks are also added into the horse it's LOG!

Is there any idea when breeding might open again?
