TRAINER

Name: Caleb Bayol
Gender: Male
Age: 21 years old
Height: 6'2"
Personality: Caleb is very self-conscious, especially about his birthmark, and will hardly ever be seen without his face paints. He usually looks very proper, with a style that is a blend between Nreolian traditional clothing and Olanite fashion.

Caleb is a very patient and polite young man, and hardly ever loses his temper. He doesn't take kindly to idiots and screw ups, though, but won't really get mad at them, just ignore them as much as he can without being rude.

When battling, he uses a very aggressive style, aiming to finish the battle as quickly as he can by damaging the opponents each turn, more than once if possible. He's not one to use status modifiers, and this is his weak spot. More than once he's been beaten by a hardening Beedrill that he was unable to finish.

Tl;dr: Self-conscious, proper, patient, polite; aggressive in battle.

Brief History: From the start, he was an outcast because of his birthmark. In an attempt to make him feel better with himself, his mother taught him how to use make up when he was very young, and he's always been very fond of facial paints since. When he got his first Pokemon, Janvier, he liked to paint them both up with matching styles.

Born to a Nreolian mother and Olanite father, he always had a foot in both worlds, and never really understood why the two people didn't get along. He never fit in with either because his paints and skin colour were too weird for the Olanites, and his clothes were too weird for the Nreolians. As a result, he doesn't feel at home anywhere, even though he strongly identifies with the Nreolian (they, on the other hand, do not consider him one of them).

He has a sister 3 years younger than him (called Claire), with whom he lost contact when she left the family home to go live her own adventure. They were never really close, because she identified much more strongly with her Olanite blood and tends to deny her Nreolian ancestry. If he had to guess, he'd probably say Claire is in Epicent city or Cita Erbonde.

Misc: Usually wears the same tribal paints as Caleb, dyed into his fur.

Janvier is really nothing more than an overlarge teddy bear. He doesn't mind cuddles and small children pulling fistfulls of his fur out, and doesn't brawl unless Caleb asks him to. Gentle and kind-hearted, it generally upsets him to be seen as scary. He's usually the one to get the team out of trouble whenever Val decides to run off and piss off some large pokemon. In battle, he's like a giant steam roller and has no pity for his opponents; he can't wait to get it over with so he can go back to eating and sleeping and cuddling.

Species: Scyther
Gender: Male
Nature: Naughty
Characteristic: Highly curious
Ability: Steadfast
Moveset: Air slash / Night slash / X-scissor / Toxic

He's the one people should be afraid of (as opposed to Janvier). He enjoys cutting things, running off and breaking things, and picking fights with pokemon larger than him. If someone gets the team in trouble, it's probably Val. In battle, he listens to Cal because it's the only time he's actually allowed to cut and break things and he likes hearing that from the mouth of his trainer.

Species: Gengar
Gender: Male
Nature: Sassy
Characteristic: Very finicky
Ability: Levitate
Moveset: Shadow ball / Confuse Ray / Sludge Wave / Focus Blast
Misc: Émile was Claire's first pokemon, but when she ran away from home, she left most of her pokemon behind. Unfortunately, Émile was one of them. Despite the fact that this devastated him, he still adores her and will listen to no other. Seeing as Caleb tried to incorporate him into his team at first when Claire was gone, Émile holds a grudge against him and thinks he's trying to get him to turn against his beloved trainer. On the other hand, he has a gigantic crush on Janvier (whom he's known since he was a wee Gastly). Émile is sassy, fabulous, annoying, thinks he's superior to everyone and everything, and talks with a slight lisp. He hates to battle.
