Hiya Darlings,

So here is the promised feature of our group members who have received a DD so far this year! I’d like to say congratulations to everyone! For those who haven’t received one yet, don’t give up hope! Everyone submits some fantastic stock and I absolutely love seeing the daily submissions.  I’d also like to take a moment and welcome all of our new members!

Before we get to the feature I want to take a moment and talk about Pre-Cut Stocks. Like any stock, they should adhere to our group and :devart: rules. This means:

:bulletgreen: They must  be your own work, or have written permission from the photographer to create them from.

:bulletred: You absolutely, under no circumstances, ever take photos from GOOGLE IMAGE or other online retail, blogs, photography, or other websites to create pre-cut stock.  The same includes stock websites like sxc.hu. This also applies to ALL pre-made backgrounds or Photoshop/GIMP brushes! I do check tineye.com on questionable stock resources on a daily basis, FYI.

If you have unknowingly done this, now is the time to remove those stocks with no questions asked.  I adore you all, but if it becomes a consistent problem the pre-cuts will be removed from the group gallery and you will be ejected from the group. I don’t want to do it. I hate being the big bad meanie, but I will if I have to. This group will adhere to  :devart: guidelines and standards regarding stock. Just because an object isn’t a celebrity doesn’t mean the image isn’t copyrighted!  If you are new to the stock world, please refer to our “Learning Resources for Stock Artists” folder found here:  the-stock-directory.deviantart…

You may think that the creation and sharing of stock and resources is a no brainer.  Clearly however its not, and there are a growing number of deviants who for some reason or another seem to not be able to grasp the basic principles.
As the last article we will be launching for Stock & Resources Project Educate week, we are going to attempt to lay it out for you in clear and easy to understand terms.
What YOU own

Its a regular question, and something that the other Community Volunteers get asked about as well. So during Project Educate Stock & Resources week I'm going to try and lay out some of the reasons behind our choices.
Stock & Resources Daily Deviations, and how they are judged by the Community.
Dan has already touched on this touchy subject in his "Potential" Article here - The Potential of Stock
There is something fundamentally different about stock & resources DD's compared to all the other DD's from all the other galleries.
Stock & Resources are NOT finished artworks to be viewed as an end product.
We can't stress this enough!!!
The Stock Artist/Provider/Creator has not submitted this work becasue they think its absolutely perfect and they want to show it off, they subm

Skype is my life-saver - buy a webcam - your PC will have an in-built microphone - hook the cam up and you're away :-)
