The Tomb of Khaine:
The moans of the shambling horde could be heard
As zombies burst from the depths of the tomb
The Pirates were trapped within the mausoleum;
Caught in the center of a Demon's womb...
It spawned a horror with each contraction
A shuffling parody of tainted life
With flesh that hung in sallow strips;
Carved with the edge of a pus-dripping knife
As more of the beasts spewed forth from the depths
The Captain called for a spark of light
As Haze scattered the explosive dust
A match was thrown to make it ignite
Boom! it exploded with a shock of force
As the Pirates were thrown to the dirty floor
They cleared the space in front of them
But more of the creatures were blocking the door...
"We'll make a run for it, fast as we can.
I refuse to die, by a deadman's hand."
The Captain grinned for he saw the way
A single path to the light of day...
As they dashed for the door; cleaving a path
The Captain scattered some oil from a flask.
With a touch of powder to make it glow
A flame was his way of saying 'hello'...
Or maybe he intended to say 'goodbye'
Perhaps we'll replace the word with 'die'
For a fireball engulfed the entire tomb
As the zombies were sent to their eternal doom...
Now the Book of Khaine was safe and sound
And the tomb was naught but ash on the ground
They had earned their reward and lived through the day
But there was one last thing the Captain needed to say:
"Guys, where's Lyra?"

History Is Never Made By Those Who Behave
We are taught of former glories
The burden of our history
Weighs heavy on infant shoulders
As it does our enemies
But I feel safe and protected
On this the day of the Moon
Unlike the remaining six days
When impending horror consumes
Wind chill woes on the moors this morn
Freedom spoke in a foreign tongue
I did not understand her chants
Percussion did not help her song
The stench of death, the drums of war
In time with the beat my heart gave
History is never written
By the flocks that choose to behave
So raise hell but come together
Unite as we are all the same
Keep the lion's heart within you
Your fiery temper learn to tame

I stumble through my mind,
Weakened by the pain of years.
I always search but cannot find
The source of all my bitter tears.
I see a light, an anchor, a hope;
I limp faster, relieved by the sight.
I found a gentle, downward slope
Like a rescue from a blight.
I lean on you, no longer afraid;
Finally I have found relief.
Tears dry, memories fade,
Like wind carries a wilted leaf.
But in the end, it wasn't true
You held my heart yet let it die.
My anchor became my noose;
My trust was blinded to your lie.
How could I be so ignorant?
You pledged to never leave my side.
There's none to blame but myself

Beyond The Horizon
We ran out of our homes
And our dream quelling streets
Until mud under foot
Had replaced the concrete
From suburb to city
On to the countryside
We were running away
But not trying to hide
The world was still spinning
Faster than we could move
Though our hearts were breaking
Our poets' words would sooth
We left a cloud grey town
And in time reached the sea
Our home for so long
Evolution tells me
To the deepest warm blue
From the coolest pitch black
Shackles fell with each stroke
With our dreams still intact
Surrounded by fishes
Guiding us from the deep
Every league of ascent
Reinforced our belief
That it's the world,

Arrr maties,
Here is the second release of pirate week.
Two things:
1. Lyra survived she was just on the other side buried under the ash. Trust me, we were BLOODY worried about her xD.
2. If you don't know who some of the characters are, check out the Chenbeard OC crew here: [link]
As Pirate Week continues, I'll be bringing ye more tales of adventure and fantasy!
P.S. This is marked as free-verse because the rhyme scheme changes towards the end. Wanted to make it more dramatic and high-speed ;3

Haha, the ending of these tales always hits me unexpected. Loved this! 8'D
I like how it starts out all epic and dark, and then gradually the humor starts peeking through until it's practically a laugh that finishes at the end. XD
