ZERO--00: Nixon Barnes

Nixon uses a black scythe that has a small blade at the opposite end and tends to emit bits of static, however the static itself has seemingly little effect. It has the ability to change size and length without becoming heavier. Nixon specializes in using it with extreme agility, but due to problems handling it once it becomes too long, very long ranged combat is quite difficult. Despite this, he is able to change the size and length of the blade without experiencing too much trouble.

Nixon was born in a modest home in Zone 4 and lived there for most of his younger childhood. His family was made up of his parents, grandfather, and younger brother. His mother's side had specialized in fishing for several generations whereas his father was from Zone 2. After his grandfather passed away, his family moved to the neighborhood in Zone 2 that his father had grown up in.

Nixon and his younger brother were very close and would walk around the city and various zones when they didn't have school. When Nixon was 13, he and his brother were chasing each other down the street between Zones 2 and 4. Their game started to get out of hand, and they ended up rough housing while crossing the bridge. Nixon tried to prank his brother by pushing and making him trip over his bag, but he ended up pushing him too hard, and his brother not only tripped over the bag, but also rammed into the railing on the side of the bridge. Even though his brother still seemed somewhat disoriented, Nixon kept trying to mess with him, and his brother fell over the railing. He tried to grab onto Nixon's jacket, but his grip simply wasn't any good, and he fell into the river, hit his head, and drowned.

Ever since then, Nixon's relationship with his parents has been rather complicated. He didn't get into trouble for his brother's death since it was simply an accident, but he still has nightmares about it. His mother still blames him deep down for his brother's death and has become quite distant since. His father always tried to cheer the two of them up, but he ended up always just making the situation awkward. As soon as Nixon started highschool, he moved into a small dorm building run by the school in Central and has rarely kept in touch with his parents. However, he's made a few friends and despite being secretive towards them, they all genuinely get along (even though they may not always be the best influences. They all get caught up in a bit of crime in Zone 2 every now and then). After getting low to average grades in high school, he immediately went out to get a full time job and moved back to Zone 2 after graduating. He's currently employed at a local bookstore, but he doesn't do his job very well (he gets into arguments with customers and co-workers alike).

Only a few days ago, he woke up and found that his pupils now looked like zeros. He flipped a shit at first and then figured out that he was the only one that could see them. He has seen a rare few of other people in the city who have similar eyes, but he hasn't really made much of an effort to say anything to them.

neither Nixon nor his brother ever learned how to swim despite his family being from the fishing business
his logic works differently than most people which causes him to be very bad at predicting what others may do (but it also has the opposite effect as well). No one is sure if his way of thinking makes him a genius or a moron. (although I vote for the moron side)
the crack-like marks on his zero form match where his brother tried to hold onto his jacket (on level 1-9 design only)
he has a strangely large amount of pink in his home
he fiddles with his phone when he's stressed
he rarely cooks or goes out to eat, so his diet is almost completely instant noodles and cheap store-prepared lunches.
