Description

Okay enough with ponies of on motorcycles for awhile. Its back to my Equestria dreamscape. I was still still recovering from my arrival in Ponyville as a unicorn stallion, and was still very weak and for the most part bed ridden much of the day. Charity Hooves continued to nurse me back to health and was being courteous enough to only not house me but also Petina who had went looking for me in my subconscious and is now there to as a white unicorn mare. Petina quickly spun a yarn about us being from Manehatten, and that the two us were longtime friends. Which is true, technically. For the most part Petina took to her new pony form with only a minimal amount of confusion or frustration. Heck she figure out how to levitate things all by herself!

Unfortunately I was not having the same luck. Not only could I not levitate anything, but initially I did not even have the skill to pick up things with my hooves. A skill that even little foals have. Charity found this very worrying and Petina found it very funny. Thanks Petina, for being part of my subconscious you can be "SO" understanding at times. To learn to do this one of the drills I had to do over and over again while lying in bed was pick this red ball up off a tray and put into a bowl. Then reverse the process and remove it from the bowl and return it to the tray. Lather rinse repeat. It is hard to describe the sensation of picking something up, but when one desires something it is as if suddenly one's hoof has adhesive on it and you can hold. When one decides to drop something one simply things about it and the object falls. One of my friends upon listening to my description of the process thought it sounded like ponies had hooves like geckos that took advantage of Van deer Waals force [link] . We coined the phrase gecko hooves from that discussions. Another of my watchers on FA thought it sounded like a form of body contact levitation that all ponies can do unlike unicorn distance levitation. This idea might have merit since it wound explain why ponies can carry the most amazing things on their backs and heads without dropping them.

After many hours of this I finally got good enough at it that Charity started playing a of toss and catch with me. She would throw the ball to me and I had to think about catching and grasping the ball as it came into contact with my hoof. Then I had to throw it back at her. This required me to visualize where in the arc of my throw/ toss I wanted to release the ball so it sail over to her where she'd catch it. At least when I botched a throw she usually could just horn levitate it back to herself instead of running around the room looking very where Baron's lousy throw had left the ball. Again. I consider myself very fortunate that Charity is a very patient mare who put up my with initial clumsy attempts.

The other thing about my condition that bothered Charity was my cutie mark, or lack of one in my case. Cutie marks are very important and common ways of identifying a pony. Even in cases where a pony loses theirs due to an injury the area usually will heal quickly and the mark will return. The area of flank even seems to be resistant to scarring and disfiguring. In my case though the cutie mark was not returning, nor was the injured area wanting to heal and allow my hide to grow back. When Charity asked me what my cutie mark I continued to feign amnesia since at this point I did not feel like alarming the ponies by telling them I had not been born as a one originally. So I said I could not remember what it was or how I had got it. When Charity asked Petina for description of my mark the she lied and proceeded to describe a rather bland abstract design that had supposedly once graced my now blank flanks.

So for much of my first couple days in Equestria my view of the world was looking out the window by my bed. It was not an unpleasant view of a garden and with a white picket fence denoting the end of Charity's property but after a while even this gets monotonous and besides I was still very weak and tired easily. So I spent a lot of time napping. Yes, I will take naps in my sleep and even dreams inside of my dreams on occasions. What was interesting about these dreams was that they did not feel like any memories of my own. Instead they felt like someone else's distant memories and recollections. Eventually I came to the conclusion that these phantom memories belonged to the Unicorn stallion who had brought me to Equestria, and it was through these dreams that I learned one piece of information about that stallion. His name. Paynes Gray. To be continued.

Tactile telekinesis? Might be a better term. But I do like your explanation as well!
