Rainbow

In my backyard, there's a rainbow;
There are colours all around.
Its own private orchestra
Provides its unique sound.

Red strawberries and tomatoes
Grow ripe on plants in pots,
And sweetly-scented orange roses
Stand in sunlit spots.

Yellow are the lemons
That hang upon the tree;
Green is every blade of grass
And every leaf I see.

I can't forget the clear blue skies,
Dotted with cloud-gems,
Or balls of indigo flowers that
Emerge from shrubs upon tall stems.

The violet violas seem
To smile and greet me here;
With yellow blush upon their cheeks,
They fill my soul with cheer!

As birds and frogs chirp happily
From all around the place,
I admire their complex harmony;
Contentment on my face.

I'm happy in my rainbow yard,
As I listen to its songs.
There is no place I'd rather be;
It's where my heart belongs!
