Italy x Reader-HetaOni part 1

-Pain can break even the most cheerful of minds
and lead their shattered souls toward perpetual madness-

You shut the oak door behind your group and walked down the short hallway that followed. The house had wooden flooring and plain white walls. There were three other hallways and a flight of stairs leading up.

You surveyed the house and couldn't help but be slightly jealous, it was much nicer than your house.
"It's cleaner than i though." Italy said this but wasn't looking around. He was just standing there staring at the ground. This made you frown, usually he would either be terrified of whatever "monsters" there were or really hyper and running around.

Germany still looked shifty eyed and nervous," H-hey, can ve go now?"
"Vhat's the matter, Vest? You scared?" Prussia looked slightly nervous now that we were in the house as well but he was obviously trying to play it off.

Japan was the only one who looked calm, but that was normal for Japan, he looked around but didn't seem very interested in anything.
"Come on guys it's just a house. It's not gonna bite you," you loved to tease the Germans.

Your country had once been part of theirs so they were like two big brothers to you. A loud cracking noise broke through the silence, startling everyone. Germany jumped and Prussia yelped.

Italy stood there seemingly unfazed and Japan just sighed. You had gasped but quickly regained your composure.
"L-look, ve really should go now."
"Something probably just fell over," you were trying to reassure Germany before he bolted.

Japan, always one to sense the mood, spoke up.
"Oh, don't be sirry. It's not rike there are any ghosts or anything. Where is your common sense?" Japan started to head off in the direction of the noise without hesitation.
"Be careful Japan," Prussia seemed genuinely worried for the other nation, a rare thing for him to think of any one but himself.

"I know. I'll Just go and see what happened. I'll be right back." And with that the man was gone down the right hallway. The rest of you stood in awkward silence as you waited for him to return.

You kept a close eye on Italy, why was he acting so strange? Granted this house seemed to put everyone off, but Italy was completely different.
"Hey Ita are you feeling alright?"
"Ve? Oh si i'm okay just a little nervous."

He smiled but i could tell something was up. I was about to try again when Prussia yelled, "Vhat ze hell is that!?" You spun around following Prussia's finger and came face to stomach with a gray creature.

You slowly glanced up and looked into its soulless black pits. You wanted to scream but your throat had dried up. The thing had come from the left wing, right behind you, and was awfully quiet for its size.

The thing was at least eight feet tall and completely nude. It was an off gray that reminded you of one of England's rotten scones. You heard feet moving behind you and turned slightly to see Germany bolt up the stairs while screaming.

Prussia ran after him yelling at him to wait. Italy looked scared but wasn't running. "Italy we have to go! Run!" He looked at you and nodded. He too ran up the stairs after the Germans. Now it was just you and a gray monster.

You gulped. Your sais¹ were in their holsters at your sides and you gripped their hilts. Now was when you chose fight or flight. The monster had yet to attack you, almost as if it was toying with you, and you decided that with its massive size you could outrun it.

Flight. You figured you might as well follow where the others had gone, it would probably be hard for the thing to get up all those stairs anyway, and you rushed up the steps. You could hear the monster behind you but it wasn't moving very fast.

When you reached the landing you looked to both sides but didn't see anyone. The thing was still to close for comfort and you ran up the next flight of stairs. The thing was farther away now and you ran to the left and opened the door.

There was a white piano in the middle of the room but no good places to hide. Again you ascended the next steps up to the fourth floor. Once again you ran to the left and rushed into the small room. Pulling the door shut you looked around.

The thing was still after you and you needed somewhere to hide. Under one of the two beds? No, too obvious. Then you spotted a large wardrobe right of the door. You thrust open the handle and buried yourself among the coats.

The there was silence. You could no longer hear the steps of the giant monster. The only noise in the room was that of a ticking clock and the hum of the water pipes. It would have been soothing if your nerves weren't fried.

You put your head between your knees to try to get the air back into your lungs, the panting you had been doing would be to loud. You checked the weapons at your sides, both still there, and tried to clam down.

***Time Skip***

The wardrobe was starting to get hot but you couldn't leave. You had a passing thought about Narnia, hey if there were huge aliens why not magical talking animals, but shook away the thought and concentrated on the noises out side.

You didn't know how long you had been in here and when you checked your watch you saw it had stopped. It felt like hours had passed and you wondered where the others could be. You froze. The door to the room had opened.

Footsteps were getting closer to the wardrobe door making your heart speed. The footsteps weren't heavy like the monster's but you were still terrified. You heard the steps cross to the other side of the room and heard a metallic clank.

The ground shook slightly and you yelped in fear. The footsteps made their way over to your hiding place and threw open the doors. Blinding light greeted you and you covered your eyes with a groan.

"Czech!"
"Oh hey Japan."
"What are you doing in here?"
"Oh you know just chillin'. THERE WAS A FREAKING MONSTER!"
"Carm down i know. I found Prussia and Germany but i stirr haven't found Itary."

"Well i'll come with you and then we can all group back together and figure out what to do. They told you what happened right?"
"Yes and the front door is rocked."
"Oh that's fantastic. I guess we'll have to find another way out."

You remembered that the windows of the first floor were blocked so there was not going out any windows. You sighed and crawled out of the cramped closet and stood. You noticed that one of the two white beds had moved and there was a large hole where it had been.

"Wow they must have some pretty nasty termites. Now let's see where it goes." You walked over to the edge of the hole and jumped. You landed back in the room with the piano. Japan landed next to you and looked around.

Nothing in this room stood out and the pair of you headed back into the hallway and traveled to the door right of the staircase. Japan opened the door, sword ready, and you stood behind him, one hand on each sai.

The room was full of books but there weren't any monsters. You headed deeper into the room and while Japan was looking at some of the bookshelves you looked to the right. Behind one of the bookshelves came a happy brown haired boy.

"Italy!" You ran to him and pulled him into a hug that he gratefully returned.
"I was worried about you and the others." Japan walked over to where you and Italy were hugging and a small smile graced his lips.

"Japan! Czech! You're okay!"
"Yes, thank God. Somehow"
"Right after you-a left, a ghost suddenly appeared from the hallway and came after-a us. Germany screamed didn't you heard-a him?"
"No, not at arr."
"Italy i don't think it was a ghost, it looked more like an alien."

"Don't worry the others tord me what happened. But the weird thing is non of our phones wirr work and there is no way to escape at the moment."
"Yep. It looks like we're locked up."
"Well that sucks looks like we need to make our own way out or find a different way."

"Hey Ita you seem pretty calm about the hole thing, your not hurt or anything right?"
"Nope, at first i was scared but when you told me-a too run i snapped out of it and fell calm."
"As did i, what about you Czech?"
"I was to worried about you guys to be scared out of my mind. I was ready to defend you if needed, but when you all got away i figured i should hide too. That thing was massive."

"So what-a happened to Germany and Prussia? Haven't you found them yet?"
"Yes, I've found them. They're on the fourth floor, but i'rr explain the details on the way. They were both worried about you two. We'd better get back to them as soon as possible."
"Well let's go then."
"Ah. Okay! Let's-a go together, then! I found some stuff when exploring, so I'll leave them with you Japan. I also made-a pasta~ You can have that too."

You ignored the fact that Italy somehow made pasta in an abandoned, by humans, mansion as he handed Japan some rice balls and beer. Strange but whatever. The three of you headed back up the stairs and into a room with a bright red chair.

The chair was the first thing you noticed but the second thing you noticed was Prussia and Germany were fighting off the thing. You jumped and grabbed Italy's arm in fear. He looked at you and then back to Germany. Then he did a very Italy like thing, he yelled.

"Aaargh!! Japan! The Thing!! It's the Thing!!" he gripped your arm back and you stood with shocked faces as Prussia swung his sword at the monster.
"Tsk... You came to soon! Japan take Italy and Czech with you and run!!"

Germany looked over to see the new arrivals and looked relieved. "Italy, Czech, you're all right!"
"G-Germany~ Ve... Your face looks weird." You looked at Italy, it was true that Germany had a large cut across one cheek but that wasn't what was concerning at the moment.

"Me und Vest vill take care of this! Just go, quickly!" When no one moved Prussia started to get impatient, "Japan!!!"
"Dear me... i must be osing my hearing in my ord age. I can't hear you at arr." You caught on quickly to what Japan was doing and a small smirk covered your mouth. You nudged Italy and he looked at you in slight confusion. You quietly whispered to him.

"Huh," Prussia was looking at Japan then to Italy, "Hey Italy!!"
"Oh, um.. i suddenly got deaf-a too!"
"Your lips seem to be moving Prussia but i can't hear that obnoxious voice of yours at all."

Japan pulled his large sword out of its sheath with a smile, "Isn't this nostargic? Once again i draw my sword in the of the Axis." You grinned and winked at Japan,
"Yeah what he said," You pulled your twin sais out of their holsters and spun them in each hand.

Japan launched himself at the Thing and stabbed it where its heart should be. The monster just looked in his direction and tried to swat away the small man.
"It is my honourabre duty to fight arong with you. Let's go Itary. You too Czech even though you aren't part of the Axis we could use your herp."

"Anything for my two big bro's and their friends."
"Y-yeah." Italy seemed worried but moved toward the monster a little while taking out his huge white flag. He spun it around in his hands and positioned the pointed end toward the gray beast.

He ran toward it and rammed the end into the thing's stomach. It let out a grunt and pulled the wooden stick out of its flesh.
"My turn," you sang as you jumped from the ground to the monster. You stabbed the monster in the back and uses both weapons to climb up to its head.

The stabbed you made seemed only to infuriate the creature but you continued. Once at its crest you drove the pointed metal into it's skull. I roared and tried to shack you off. You were spun around but managed to hold on.

Italy and Japan were still striking it as were Prussia and Germany. The monster would swipe with its razor claws and they would have to jump back to avoid a critical hit. The thrashing of the monster brought you in front of its eyes, dangling by one hand still attacked to the weapon in its head, you gave a wave with your free hand and it growled at you.

Its face was really in-proportionate; huge eyes, tiny nose, human like lips, and a small chin. There was a clear spot between it's eyes, in the middle of its forehead, and you stabbed your second weapon into it. The monster gave out a huge cry and vanished.

The lack of monster caused you to fall the the ground on your butt, sais still in hands. The others were standing around panting from the fight, Italy spoke first.
"It disappeared..Ve~ It really is-a ghost"

Germany stood back up straight and shot an angry glance towards Italy.
"Are you hurt?" Prussia and Germany both stalked over to where Italy, Japan, and yourself were.

"The hell?! You totally ignored vhat i said!" Prussia was storming around swearing and muttering about us getting hurt.
"I thought the two of us alone could do something about it...I'm sorry. You really helped. Are you okay too?
"Yep. But I'm-a so relieved now! You two ran away really fast so I'd been wondering what-a had happened to-a you."
"But Germany, your hurt we should clean off that cut on your face soon."

You grabbed the end of your shirt and tore off a strip. You took one of the beer bottles from Japan and soaked the fabric in it.
"Now this might hurt a little but it will sterilize the wound." You placed the cloth against Germany's face and he hissed in pain. You continued to clean away the blood until only a angry red line remained.

"I am rearry glad that everyone is arr right. Now, what are we going to do from here?" Prussia had stopped whining and joined the group again, "Yeah. The thing could show up here again, so we should move to a room that is as safe as possible. Besides if the five of us stick together it won't be so scary."

"Good idea Prussia!! Now let's search for a room that looks as safe as possible. And lets not split up, of course."
"Rodger Captain!!" Italy seemed to be back to his happy old self but something about him just seemed off to you. One this that really stood out was that he wasn't smiling like he normally did, when he did it seemed forced.

You decided to let it go for now as everyone headed out of the room. Your group went to many room but none seemed to fit what you were looking for. By now you were all exhausted and just wanted a room. You opened a door on the second floor and walked in.

You locked the door to be safe and sat in one of the blue chairs. You had found a fisrt aid kit in one of the other wounds and you made Germany sit on the table so you could fix up his cut with something better than beer.

Prussia rubbed his face, "Ve can't get to careless, but i think ve're safe here, for now. Ve have the key, und ze door is firmly locked form inside."
"It is onry temporary, but it shourd do for one night, i suppose"
"One night is good enough for me. I'm-a really tired from running around~"
"I agree this room seems safe enough, it even has a fireplace that we can light with those matches we found."

"Ja. Ve ran a lot for one day. It makes me feel like having some beer"
"Well you already had some on your face."
"I'm-a cold though we should light this fire place Ve~"

Germany grabbed the matches and walked over to the fire place while you slouched in a chair. With the fire lit the room started to quickly warm up and the heat and the crackling of the burning wood was making you dreary.

"Ooh! That's nice huh?" You nodded at Prussia's words the heat seemed relaxing.
"Yes. I feer much better now that we have some right, and now that i'm not arone any more."
"Yeah~ But it was really scary at first! Even though Germany was the first to run away, it was Czech that the ghost chased after!"
"Yeah you're right. I remember thinking, 'no not my precious little Czech' when i saw You run after me leaving her alone with that thing."

"Well it was scary but the thing didn't even swing at me, it just followed me when i ran up the stairs. I lost track of it pretty quickly."
"Rather than think about how we acted in the past, we should discuss what to do from now on."
"Good idea Japan. Though i think we should get some sleep pretty soon I'm almost falling out of this chair."
"Everything i checked in the house was-a locked and there was no way out..it's horrible!"

A few tears streamed down Italy's cheek and you walked over and gave him a hug. You wiped away his tears and kissed his cheek.
"Down worry Ita we can look again tomorrow, we'll break down doors if we have to." He gave a smile, another half hearted one and nodded.

"Vell it looks like ve are it's prisoners for the time being zhen. Though having no vay out really bothers me." Germany scratched his chin in though and Japan nodded at his words.
"Indeed i rearry whish i courd go home. I've been waiting for several games that wirr ne released soon"
"Me too i can't eat pasta or pizza lika-a this!"
"So tomorrow ve make a vay out."
"Hai, let's sleep here tonight."

"One of us should keep watch though" Germany had a point.
"Yes then we sharr play janken to decide who stays up."
"Isn't that the same thing as rock paper scissors?"
"Yes it is."

The five of you got into a circle and all hit your palms. In the end Prussia lost and was the one to stand guard for the night. Italy, Germany, Japan, and yourself all retreated to the blankets and lay down.

You lay next to Italy with your back to his chest. You were drifting off when you felt him pull your body into his and wrap an arm around your waist. The warmth of his body was soothing and you soon drifted off into a deep sleep.
