Description

In the last posting from my Equestria dreamscape I discovered that I had recently developed the talent to make my drawings come to life [link] . Concerned about possible health risks I was told by Twilight not to do it anymore drawings until we understood exactly what was going on especially since it appeared that Paynes Gray was the one who making me do it. However Paynes apparently needed me to get more practice in, so he sent me sleep drawing. The result was a library full of whookits, and an angry librarian.

Twilight's answer after that incident was to lock up all the drawing materials. Paynes Gray solution was that all that I needed was something that would stain. A surface to apply it to, and some applicator to manipulate the staining material.

So once again like some marionette I went sleep walking in the middle of the night. My destination this time was the kitchen. Once there I a lit candle so I could with his guidance start looking for the right materials. This the time objective was to to do something big and Payne's materials this time were a giant jug of blueberry syrup. A mop to apply it with and the floor as a working surface.

Now Twilight had expected that I might try another round of midnight art so she was not to surprised when she awoke to the sounds of someone moving around the library at night. Getting out of bed she went to investigate. Following the light from the candle she found me standing in the kitchen levitating a mop full of blueberry syrup.

She started to call out to me but then noticed something very odd and disturbing. I had set the lit candle down on the counter beside me and it was casting not only my shadow onto the wall behind me but the shadow of another unicorn standing alongside me who was apparently giving me instructions on what to do. Also my eyes were glowing white again. Then from the syrup there arose this thing.

Now they don't have things like this running around all over the place in Ponyville, or even the Everfree Forest. This theory is supported by the scream that Twilight let out when this creature came to life! This got the thing's attention and it immediately started to make a beeline for her while making this horrible screeching noise. However with my eyes still glowing I leaped in front of it and in a voice a couple octaves lower than mine I commanded it."Harm not the innocent!" This seem to really get the creatures attention and it got all meek and timid. I then approached it and in the same voice said. "Where is he?" After repeating this command with increasingly grim undertones Twilight says she saw several images quickly flash across the creatures gigantic eye. Apparently satisfied I then banished the creature which reverted to blueberry syrup. This promptly splashed all over the place including on to some of the books on nearby shelves. The floor, the walls and cabinets and over anyone standing nearby. This now included Spike and Petina who had awoken to the sound of Twilight's scream and had come running. Unfortunately along with the usually sweet smell of blueberries the syrup now had the smell death and decay mixed into it.

Awaking from this latest episode found that I was standing in the kitchen with Twilight and Petina and Spike. We were all covering with rotten blueberry syrup and Twilight was staring at me with an icy expression. After a couple seconds of awkward silence she spoke. "Spike!" She barked. "Write a letter to Princess Celestia and send it immediately. Tell her exactly what has happened here tonight. Tell her we request an audience with her as soon as possible!" Then she approached me and stared me up and down "Get yourself cleaned up. First thing in the morning we're all going to Canterlot!" Oh boy.

Looking back on this now, I can't help but be reminded of H.G. Wells' infamous tripods from War of the Worlds fame.
