Honorifics and Conventions in my PMD-E Writing

One of the ways a piece of writing can be identified as one that I wrote is the conventions and honorifics that are used to identify and address characters. Here, I've listed down all the conventions and honorifics that I've ever adapted into my writing over the years that I still actively use today in varying amounts to varying degrees, depending on the type of characters I'm writing about.

:bulletblue: Kids always refer to adults with the honorifics "Mr.", "Mrs." (for married women) or "Miss" (for unmarried women) before their last names, unless explicitly told not to. If last names don't exist (such as in PMD-E land, as far as I can tell), then they'll use first names instead. They'll use "Ms." for women whose marital status is unknown or deliberately kept secret.

Examples of those without last names:

Mr. Rallen
Mrs. Jody
Miss PK
Mr. Shroomsworth

Examples of those with last names:

Mr. Lightbloom
Mrs. Lightbloom

:bulletblue: The world in PMD-Explorers is officially called "Tao World," but when talking about it, I sometimes call it "PMD-E land" due to the fact that when I first joined the group, the world's oddities took a ton of time for my brain to adapt to.

:bulletblue: In place of last names, in PMD-E land, specie names appear to be used instead for people's "full names".

Examples:

Amy the Jigglypuff
Darren the Golurk

:bulletblue: Even though PMD-E land is comprised of nothing but Pokémon, I still have them sometimes referred to as "people", since it sounds more natural. Of course, I never use "humans."

:bulletblue: I use the term "married" to describe couples who choose to stick together for life, regardless of whether they have kids or not. Of course, in PMD-E land, marriages are described as being "super-formal" and "something that rarely happens," and not only that, but "most Pokémon flit between 2 or 3 partners". I still use the word regardless of what the situation is or if they even had an official marriage ceremony or not.

:bulletblue: Husbands almost always address their wives as "Honey", and wives almost always address their husbands as "Darling." (Occasionally, they might accidentally be switched.) The big exception to this rule is Rallen and Jody, as not only do they feel that such terms are too gooey and mushy, but that their real names sound cooler, too.

:bulletblue: Kids, of course, always call their parents "Mom" and "Dad", unless they've explicitly been told otherwise. Variations can exist, such as "Mommy and Daddy", "Mama and Papa", etc.

:bulletblue: Older sisters are referred to as "Sis", and older brothers are referred to as "Bro" or (for really little kids) "Big brother." The reverse (for younger siblings) is never true. There are always exceptions to this rule, of course, but they're quite few. (For example, in real life, I know for a fact that my little brother never calls me "Sis." I'm just borrowing this convention from Japanese.)

:bulletblue: Since Darren always addresses Amy as "Master Amy", anyone higher than her, such as PK, would be addressed as "Overlord."

:bulletblue: Leaders of tribes that live out in the wilderness, living the way nature intended them to, so to speak, are always called "Master" by those that they rule, regardless of gender. The examples in quotes are those who aren't actually masters yet, but who are aiming to be masters and insist on people referring to them as such.

Examples:

Master Boscoe
Master Jody
Master Kirima
"Master Kale"
"Master Chard"

:bulletblue: Prosphora the Ho-oh is called "Father Prosphora" by kids and those who aren't familiar with him, since he is the land's Pope and all.

:bulletblue: Merlot the Lugia is called "Lady Merlot" by her servants and those who have gotten to know her, while those who don't know her very well and are afraid of her call her "Mistress Merlot."

:bulletblue: Nearly everyone calls Sorbet the Kyurem "Sorbet", but Amy and Darren are one of the very few who insist on calling him "Kyurem" instead.

:bulletblue: Commanders in the army of Planet Paion are obviously called "Commander," even though in real life, there is no such rank. It's my way of making things easier to understand since it's really the only major rank of importance in the planet's army.

Examples:

Commander O-Bem
Commander O-Beema

:bulletblue: The all-powerful leader (or leaders, if he or she is married and has agreed to share joint leadership) of the entirety of Planet Paion is always referred to as "High Commander".

Examples:

High Commander Blune
High Commander Psyme

:bulletblue: Rallen is sometimes referred to as "Boss-Man" in place of his real name by those he used to know who were often bugged by his habit of ending his sentences with "like a boss". "Boss-Man" is also sometimes used to refer to tribal leaders, or if a tribal member doesn't know the leader's name.

:bulletblue: Individual characters might sometimes either assign titles to themselves or be assigned titles by those who know them.

Examples:

Evil Empress Paion
Quana, the High-Strung Messenger
Koton, the Gentle Giant
Taiko, the Electromagnetic Berserker

:bulletblue: So far, there's only one character of mine who goes by a pen name when writing books. On book covers, she writes her name as "Heather the Chikorita", while in real life, she prefers to be called "Chikorita".

I'll add more to this list as I think of or come across them.
I figured it was about time I made one of these, with all new people that have started watching me. I thought about putting this under my personal info on the front page, but this is a lot to write, so I figured that a link to this deviation would be all that's necessary.

Some of the names here may be be minor, minor spoilers for characters I'll be introducing in the future.

Hopefully, this guide illuminates a bit more of the interesting quirks that are in my storytelling style! At least in my works for PMD-Explorers.

Thank you for making this! This may improve my writing quite a bit.
