(On a total side note to the actual story) To avoid elaborating, I'll just say that that suicide attempt bit with John... hit close to home, and brought up some memories that I'd have loved to avoid.

*worry evident in her voice* John though, seriously. What the heck man, why do you do this to yourself. What do you think Sherlock would say if he knew what you did. (obviously others know that Sherlock knows, but John doesn't) Do you honestly think he'd want this, you trying to kill yourself? *hugging him carefully* John... please, just... don't ever do that again. Stay strong, and don't give up hope. Everything will work out in the end

And Lestrade, what John did... it's not your fault. Not even slightly your fault. If anything, the fact that you were there for him is probably why he didn't try anything before now.

Hopefully he'll stop being so totally self destructive after this. And thinking that it was Sherlock's ghost that told him he loved him, heaven only knows what that will do to him.  *waves wooden spoon at authors* John better freaking survive this. Sherlock did not go through all this hell just for John to die now.
