FAQ

- How can I participate?
  --> Join the group and send me the adress via PM or the joining request. Then I will note you down on the traveling list of one of the books.

- How long can we keep the book?
   --> I think the deadline of keeping the book is 2 weeks, that should give you enough time to enjoy the art of the other artists, make your entry and send it to the next. If you finish earlier it is great!

- How many pages can we use?
--> I think up to four pages is reasonable, if you are writing something and need a bit more space it is no problem. But remember: quality, not quantity!!!

- What can I draw/write?
--> The answer is easy: everything. People, objects, fantasy, poems, recipes (with photo?), short stories, photos of you, your favorite place, you can tell us a bit about you, where you live, what you like, you can glue in flower petals and ringlet (yes, that was really en mode in the friendship books from 1600-1900), photos of your artwork if you draw on canvas or do artisan crafts. Also tutorials would be great too. You could attach an envelope and maybe people could add photos of their artwork using your tutorial <-- No, seriously, that would be an awesome idea!
But again: Quality! Remember that (great!!) artists from all over the world will see your entry, so give your very best and more.

- Is Fanart allowed?
--> It depends. Sailor Moon, Pokemon, Naruto etc. not,  but there is nothing to say against fanart to real movies and books and the newer Pixar/Disney movies. If you want to draw fanart I would like it if you would ask me first so I can decide if it is worth it.

- What are Special Edition Travel Books?

Is there a special theme?
--> Special Edition Travel Books are Travel Books with a special theme, movie/book/series, topics the entries have to have. All "normal" World Travel Books don not have a special theme.

- Is there something I am not allowd to do?
--> Well, most of it is logical. Do not destroy the book, lose it, rip/cut pages out of it. You are allowed to cut pages into shapes if you need it for your artwork though. I would also ask you not to do Fanart of animes like "Sailer Moon", "Pokemon" etc. Also no Sonic etc. Stay original.

- I am best with digital art, what should I do?
--> Print out your best artwork and stick it in. Just make sure it really is made by you. ^^

- I am best with photography, what should I do?
--> Print out your favorite one of your photos and glue it in. Easy ^^

- How is it with the shipping?
--> I give my best to create a traveling route that will keep the shipping costs for everybody as small as possible. I try to keep the book in the same country as long as possible by sorting the people by their country, not by the order they enterd the group. That way you could be Nr. 5 and be the 343rd  person who joined. So asking: "Can I get the book last/before (insert name here)?" would lead to high shipping costs and a lot of work. Please understand that.

- How is it with the adresses? Is it safe?
--> It all goes over me, so I always know where the book is and can start asking questions if it takes too long, so we know if the book got lost on the way or if the artist just needs two days longer. And yes, it is safe. You give the adress to me and I give it to the person in front of you the moment (s)he finishes the entry. After that I will imediatly delete your adress from my computer. As you see, it is safer than buying something via internet.

- Am I too late to participate?
--> Not at all. There are so many people interested that I simply will make a new book once the current one is full. No one is left out.

- What happens when the book is full?
--> The book will come back to me and I will make a new one that continues the journey. I will also make a free PDF and try to get it printed so everybody can get his own copy. More about it further down.

- Does it cost something for me? Do I have to pay to participate?
--> No, you don't have to pay for participating. You just have to pay for the shipping costs for the book from your house to the next adress. I try to keep the distances as short as possible so the price is as low as possible. Many participants can even meet personally with the next person and pass it on like that.

- Will there be a printed book?
--> I don't know that yet for sure, but many have asked me for it. So yes, probably. What it will give for sure is a FREE PDF for downloading with the whole book, scanned in good quality.

- Do I earn money with the book? Do you earn money with the book? Do I get the book for free?
--> No to all of them. I can not pay you for participating. And I will not earn money with it either, not even when it gets printed. When you buy the book you pay exactly how much it costs to print and ship it. No money is made for anybody, that is the way why everybody has to pay if he/she wants to get the book. Sorry about that, I wish it would be different.
