Description

EDIT: Changed their descriptions and added a little background.

This is my application for :iconpmd-explorers:. I imagine I'll have some trouble meeting the deadlines in the future, but I'm still pretty excited for it! It seems very interesting.

Since I don't think the applications quite give them enough description, I will elaborate more on their personalities EDIT: AND NOW BACKGROUNDS.

THIS IS KIND OF INCOMPLETE AND NOW OUTDATED, AND IT'S A BIT OF A WORK IN PROGRESS. PLEASE BEAR WITH ME AS I KEEP MAKING CHANGES.

PERSONALITIES
Chi:
Though Torpor is the eldest, Chi is more likely to step up to the plate on guild-related activities, and thus is often mistaken for being the leader. He's just what the trait on his application says; impetuous and silly. But he's still a bit like a kid. He is known to over-exaggerate his emotions (whether he is feeling happy, angry, or sad), and he is rather quick to move and act. He likes to cheer people up and help out, and he tries to get others to lighten up- esepcially his brother. He's usually quite crazy, joking, and cheerful, but he often knows when to get serious. And to put him in his brothers words, he's a little bit annoying. Going against the norm, Chi has always wished to be able to fly on his own. One day, Chi plans to find a way to make this unrealistic dream a reality. (Possible future plot point?)
And also, he IS like a kid... so don't ignore him, or be mean to him. He will probably try to make nice, but spoiled ol' Chi would not like that.

Torpor:
While Chi is like a child, Torpor acts more like a teenager. He's serious, calm and collected, not at all silly, and he gets annoyed a little bit easily. His background makes him see the world more for what it is, unlike Chi. He still has to work hard like he did back then, and voluntarily does most of the chores and work himself. He's protective of his younger brother, no matter how much he may annoy him. Whenever he gets free-time, you can usually see him napping or training- until Chi interrupts him. In combat, he prefers physical attacks over special, due to his high strength. His strategy often involves attacking the enemy from afar and paralyzing them, then going forward for the strike. He's more sturdy and able to take a few hits. His ability is Lightning Rod.

Bio: (YOU CAN PRETTY MUCH IGNORE THIS. This is just in case someone needs it for some reason.)

Several years ago, Torpor lived with his mother and father in a small village next to Steel City. They didn't exactly live the best life, though not the worst either. His hearty raichu father worked in mining the iron ore for the nearby cities buildings and technologies, a low-pay and sometimes dangerous job. Whenever the father got stuck in the mines, Torpor and his raichu mother had to temporarily take responsibility for work. They would visit Steel City when time allowed it, and look for work. It taught him the value for hard work and responsibility, and even with all the jobs, he never felt sad or overworked. Later on, their father struck it big and got a much better mining job, ending their years of poverty. Their living conditions got a little better, and Torpor did not have to work anymore, allowing him just a few years of blissful childhood. Soon, Torpor's parents had another child, the shiny pichu Chi, and he got to get the full childhood experience Torpor never had. He was always a center of attention, and he never had to work. This is what caused their extreme contrast; Torpor had to show responsibility and seriousness as a kid, and Chi was the near opposite. The contrast makes Torpor very easily annoyed by Chi, but he still likes him and wants him to live the experience he wish he had.
As Torpor came of age, he decided he would go to Tao Village to seek better opportunities and become independent. Chi, not wanting to leave his older brother, insisted on coming with him. Though they did not want to let a somewhat-young child be without his parents, Torpor and their parents did not want to deny Chi's wishes (even though Torpor really didn't want his annoying brother to come...), and the family separated in half. When they arrived in Tao, Chi found out about the guilds. Torpor had intended on choosing a better, safer job, but Chi insisted upon it, and Torpor finally accepted with an agreement that Chi would actively participate. Chi came up with the childish and kind of ironic team name himself, and signed them up for the Rescuers- because he believed helping others was his duty. Tsch.
