Used mainly for cutting open crates, slicing through ropes/anchor lines and other non-combatant uses.

Personality:
Though quite amicable, his lack of memory has affected his confidence making him seem a touch shy and uncertain in large social senarios. He also might miss the odd social cue.

Loooooves the sea, swimming and diving and becomes noticeably quieter and more cautious the further away he is from a body of water.

After experiencing the brutality of the Kanto Miliitary Police, he's more than happy to follow the Rebels 'No Kill' policy, however he will still brawl like any proper sailor should, only leaving his quarry once they're down -just as long as they won't strike back. To this end, he's rather inexpierienced at using his knife in combat.

Frog is also prone to -not- wearing clothes that'll slow him down in the water, oblvious to the fact that shirts are generally a good thing to wear and that the women of the camp don't need him running around topless all day. Moltres will be an Ice type before he wears a scarf or gloves. HOWEVER. Frog does belive in decency, and he will (begrudingly) wear the jacket and singlet Delancy instructs him to wear around camp. They're usually left with his (generic) boots when Frog's by the water.

In a bar fight, he'd be the first to grab a stool and last to smash a bottle. Glass shards make things too messy in his book.

When a psychic tries to read his mind to reveal his past memories, Kyorgre goes 'Nope' and creates a localised deluge over the offending mon until they're too drenched to focus. (Actually, the Psychic would experience the feeling of being deep underwater, as if they were diving unassisted to the bottom of the Mariana Trench. If forced to stay in the 'sealed' part of Frog's mind, their body will start to behave as if it's drowning. Without swift intervention this can lead to death. (As a Slowking of the Kanto MP unfortunatly found out...))

I should also mention that despite not remembering his past, Frog's memory works normally. His amnesia affects none of his short term memories and his long term memory merely begins with being hauled out of the sea. Think of it like his memory is an encyclopeida and the first few volumes have been sealed shut.

Backstory, the part he remembers:
After being discovered amongst a haul of Remoraid, the fishermen identified his accent as the kind spoken around Slateport and Lillycove so they turned him over to the military police as a possible spy. (And to claim the reward money). However after a most -through- interrogation only confirmed trauma induced amnesia, he was sent to a POW camp until they could decide what to do with him and if he was trustworthy enough to recruit.

Though they never got their chance.

After a few weeks, to prevent the POWs seeing the fleet bound for Unova, it was decided that the camp be moved to Cinnabar. The 'Nameless Spy' as he was known as then, was listed as having boarded the transport ship, but was absent during the first roll call at sea. Also reported missing was an unassigned Pokeball, bound for a new set of recruits on the selfsame destination as well as a standard-issue Diver's knife.

Managing to get to the Seafoam Islands, the 'Nameless Spy' rested before [Swimming the remaining distance] to a beach near Fuchsia. By then, news of his escape had made the press and next to the propaganda posters, was a picture of him under the name 'Frog'.

Now after Frog's escape, each night he'd been trying to open the Pokeball he'd 'borrowed', systematically trying each of the combinations. The third night after he arrived in Fuchsia he finally cracked the code and was able to summon the critter inside: A Mantyke he instantly named Fish. Quite used to appearing in odd places, the Mantyke happily co-operated thinking this was some sort of training. It warmed to Frog quickly, especially considering the amount of swimming and diving they got to do together.

Over the next few months, 'The Frog and the Fish' took to the [wilds of Kanto], managing to evade the authorities wherever they went. Given that there was a war going on and there were other, more dangerous threats eventually the active search parties were called off, leaving the wanted posters and the public to watch out. Of course, the posters were showing Frog when he was first arrested. By this time, Frog was in much need of a shave and haircut and could easily pass as an out-of-luck sailor around the docks. It was through this ruse that Frog and Fish started venturing closer into towns, learning what news they could from overheard conversations and old newspapers. When they eventually reached Vermillion, their investigation had revealed the following:
1) Unova was no longer neutral, having chosen to side with Kanto.
2) The Kanto Admiral had been captured by Johto, which had set all the dockworkers on edge.
3) Almia and the Orange Islands were still neutral countries in the war, and thus ideal places for Frog to move to.

Unfortunatly, Frog was slightly too public in inquring about passage to Almia and woke up one morning surrounded by Kanto MP. Handcuffed, blindfolded and unable to reach the Pokeball that contained Fish, Frog was put on a jeep and taken away. After a while, the jeep stopped unexpectedly and (still blindfolded) he was led into what felt like a forest. There his captor interviewed him, asking about why he was so keen on running away from the war, his reasoning for holding onto the stolen Pokeball and if he knew why he was so good a swimmer.

Eventually his handcuffs were removed and the captor vanished. When he'd removed the blindfold, Frog found himself in a small clearing, with a path leading to a road which would inevitably mean another encounter with the MPs where he'd be killed on sight for his 'crimes'. There was also a small river nearby, and a note tied to Fish's Pokeball reading: 'If you truly wish to stop running and face the nightmare, join us downstream'.

Summoning Fish, the Mantyke took one look at the road, another at the river and promptly dived into the water.

Frog didn't know what lay ahead. He didn't know that the stream would lead him round the world and back again nor did he know that it would start him on the road of remembering his past. He only knew that death awaited him on land and that Death also seemed to be a poorer swimmer than himself.

And he knew that whatever higher power there was had just given him a second chance. -One he wasn't going to waste.

Backstory, the forgotten part:
Born Conrad James Montague, he spent the first five years of his life growing up happily in Hoenn's Fallarbor Town, getting Samantha, a little sister along the way. It wasn't long after her birth that his Dad (James, a renowned Fighter Pilot and Wing Commander in the Royal Hoenn Air Force) decided to move the family to Sootopolis, thinking it's crater walls would better shelter them from the disasters of the Great War. And whilst Samantha, Conrad and their Mum survived untouched, James' squadron was shot down over Mt. Silver. With only two surviving members (one who'd been bedridden on the day and James), the squadron was declared 'disbanded' and James honourbly discharged, given he'd lost the use of his legs in the crash and couldn't stand the thought of a desk job with the RHAF. Seeing what this once reknown man had become, Conrad promised to himself that he'd never be a part of war.

Eventually, the family settled down and Samantha started going to school. In his time in Sootopolis, Conrad had realised a great love of the sea, and spent as much time as he could exploring the underwater caverns beneath Sootopolis. His first treasure was the DeepSeaTooth he wears on his necklace.

When he was old enough to realise that he didn't want to spend his entire life 'pushing paper', he left school and took a job with a salvage crew, learning about being -on- the water, as well as -in- it. However so 'absorbed' was he by the ocean, that he became oblivious to the bullying happening to his sister and found it difficult to interact with his new twin little brothers.

And then the Pokeball was invented.

As soon as he heard news that War was coming, Conrad's fears of suffering the same injuries as his father returned and strengthened. Eventually he couldn't live with the definite thought of having to enlist in the armed forces, being the firstborn son of the family. So he packed what he could one night, took out all the money he'd saved and bought a one-way ticket to the then Neutral Unova. He didn't realise it was eventually going to take a side, nor did he consider the impact this would have on his family.

On the morning of his departure, he got up earlier that usual and stole away, not waking a single person. The family's pet Mightyena did however give him a sad look, as if it knew something bad was about to happen, but it too made no sound. After boarding, and waiting for what seemed like an age for the boat to depart, the boat finally left. As it did so, a figure raced out onto the jetty, obviously distressed and calling out something indecipherable to the seagoing boat. Yet to Conrad, he had no doubt it was his Sister, who now called herself Rosetta for some reason. Like an anchor, her tear ridden sounds struck his heart and instantly he realised what he'd done, and what his sister would now have to go through.

Sadly two hours later, Guerrilla Pirates attacked and sunk the craft, helpless in the open waters. In the chaos whilst clinging to some wreckage, something hit Conrad -hard- on the back of his head and he blacked out, instinct more than anything keeping his muscles wrapped tightly around the floating wreckage until they too failed from exhaustion.

Perhaps it was providence that he was rescued by those Kantonese fishermen oh so many hours later? Perhaps the [god of the seas] had given him a second chance, but at the cost of his memory? Will he ever remember who he was?

Pokémon:

Fish | Mantyke | Naieve | Water Veil | Male
R4: Air Slash | Mud Sport (Egg) | Surf | Aqua Ring
R5: Ice Beam | Mud Sport (Egg) | Surf | Aqua Ring
Native to: The Waters North of Sunnyshore City, Sinnoh

What Fish 'says':
"I'm lucky because my human is the most awesome human in the world!"
"My human plays this game where he says 'Fish' but he really means me. It's a silly game, but he seems to like to play it and what's wrong with play?"
"My human is taking me on this really long, but really fun training exercise. All the other Pokemon will be sooooo jealous when we get back. But I don't want it to end ever!"
"My human is awesome because unlike the other ones I've had, he likes to swim and dive, just as much as me!"
"Since we started playing with the people in green, I keep meeting Pokemon that don't want to play with me. In fact they'd rather hurt me! So I use my Healing Ring when they hurt me and when I'm healed, I use that water to stop them hurting me. Pretty neat huh?"

What Frog says:
"The Pokeball was jus' lying ther' on th deck. It was gunna roll in ta somethin n' make a noise, which'd mean th' guards'd hear me, wha' else could I do!?"
"I figured tha' whatever was inside would need air eventually, so I spent m' rest times trying ta figure out th' combination ta open it."
"When I finally opened it, this cute lit'l swimming kite thing came out. It looked like a water type, so I called it Fish. Funny eh?"
"Before I opened the Pokeball, I thought I'd leave it in one of those recruitment offices they have everywhere. But since I met Fish... well I don' want ta see th' poor guy fall inta some cold soldier's 'ands..."
"I mean, I'm already wanted fer escaping tha' bluedy ship, what's one missin' Pokeball ta add ta m' crimes?"
"'nd hey. Fish at least seems ta always be in 'igh spirits, so it's nice to have 'im around. It's not like he's slowin' me down or anythin'."

Antenna | Rotom-Wash | Quirky | Levitate | N/A
R4: Volt Switch | Signal Beam(DW) | Electro Ball | Hydro Pump
Native to: ??

An explanation of Antenna's form. (+ specs)

What Antenna 'says':
"Me and a few friends, we're all crazy-bzt... but it's cool. I put water in their devices-bzt, they put stuff like grass in mine and-bzt we all have fun! ^_^"
"This new human. He-bzt seems to think I'm called 'Antenna' or something. It's funny-bzt because that isn't my name. It's Andreas. But Antenna's-bzt cool too! :D"
"I tried it with my friends, and I figured I can-bzt use one of my attacks on their Pokeball to make them come out-bzt! Not only that but I can also use it to-bzt swap which device I've got! owo ...though I'm quite fond of this 'Talk-edo'-bzt ^-^"
"The best bit about this new human though-bzt, is that he doesn’t mind it if I splash him-bzt! ouo Of course like everyone else, he doesn’t-bzt like it if I splash then shock him-bzt. D:"
"The Green People say that Signal-bzt Beam is important. I just think it makes pretty-bzt pattens. XD"

What Frog says:
"Afta a whil', they said there'll be trouble, so they gave m' this new green Pokeball."
"I think I like it bett'r than Fish's ball, but it's a bummer they won' let m' change the one Fish is usin'."
"Since Fish's nickname is so funny, I thought I'd call this one Antenna. <snerks> If I wasn't such a good swimmer, I'd be a brilliant comedian."
"Antenna's got this weird power ta take over some machines, but it seems ta prefer the ones ta do with wat'r, 'specaily tha' Torpedo o' his."
"Antenna can be a bit tricky sometimes, but it always seems so excited with tha' grin on its face... if only it wouldna zap me when I'm trying ta' take it fer a swim."
"It took m' a whil' ta realise tha' when they said' 'tenna's nor "Live", tha' they don' mean it's a Ghost. It's coz' it's Torpedo can't explode."
