BASIC STATS
Secret ID: Consuelo "Missy" Noguerra
Alias: Quetzal
Group / Alliance Affiliation(s): QAL

Nickname(s): "Missy" (it's a long story). She does not respond well at all to "Connie." Addison calls her "Birdie, "Tweetie," "Chickie," "Girlie," "Lady," and variations of.
Age: 16
Gender: Female
Nationality: Earth; American (Mexican ethnicity)
Current Residence: Metropolis suburbs
Height: 5'0" (152 cm)
Weight: 115 lbs (52.4 kg)
Eye Color: Medium brown
Hair Color: Black, reddish-brown in the sun
Hair Type: Long, straight, and silken; usually down with a neat side french braid. She takes very good care of it and heaven help anyone who tries to mess with it
Skin Color: Medium darkness; sandy tones
Physical Description: Missy has a body type reminiscent of a braided rope—small but substantially strong. While bony, she is hard with muscle gained from playing tennis and exercising her family's two dogs.
As a civilian, Missy keeps it simple, often wearing trim and unassuming sportswear like tank tops and shorts. She keeps her nails fairly long and is always changing up the nail polish on them. Her jewelry consists of a stainless steel cross on a necklace chain and a tacky bead bracelet her younger sister made.
As a villain, her costume is as flashy as possible with colors reflecting that of a resplendent quetzal. Her long hair is braided into a high bun and secured with a scrunchie.

Personality
General Personality: Quick to anger, slow to forgiveness. She tends to get tunnel vision when she's emotional, particularly when her family is concerned. She isn't stupid, per se, but she isn't good at lying and tends to bluntly filter out incoming information if it isn't something she needs to know immediately. She is also naturally suspicious of others but is quick to giggles with her dogs and little sister. She generally stays quiet unless there's something important to say.

Good Traits: Dependable, protective, affectionate, focused, makes quick decisions, more observant than she lets on.
Bad Traits: Holds grudges forever, stubborn, sentimental, easily angered, predictable, reckless, uncaring queen of awkward silences.

Quirks: She's not too great with technology and gets by with basic internet and texting skills. She works well with children who are pre-teen but can't stand middle-school-aged kids. She's a fairly religious Christian. She's fluent in Spanish.
Hopes: For her little sister to regain her health; for her family to be happy; that big, arrogant companies are taken down a peg; for strength.
Fears: Her little sister's death or permanent serious illness; her mother coming down with the same illness as her little sister.

Memorable Quote(s):
*"Hi." (and that's all she says unless you bring up a conversation topic)
*"I'm on it."
*"Shut up, you're annoying."
*"Espey, you silly goose. c:" (to her younger sister)

Relationships
Family: Mariana (mother), Ricardo (father), Ramiro (older brother, 20), Esperanza (younger sister, 10), Felipe (dog, wool Labradoodle [link] ), Ernesto (dog, English Setter [link] )
Friends: Addison Qin
Enemies: Archen Accelerate Corporation
Girlfriend(s)/Boyfriend(s): Currently, none. She's had a couple boyfriends before, but excited middle school and freshman year relationships just really aren't meant to last long-term. She's straight.

Battle
Power(s): Quetzal's powers are based in old magic and potion-making. Her basic physical ability isn't too bad, either, from playing tennis since she was a little kid as well as regular jogging with her two dogs.

Augment: Anything Quetzal points and focuses on increases in effect (ex: size, weight, strength, etc.). This is the reason why Quetzal carries around hot peppers and glass marbles—try dealing with a giant explosion of spiciness or a couple huge glass boulders accelerating your way. Enhancing the tines of her garden weasel to terrifying proportions is one of her favorite uses of Augment. She's also beginning to learn how to enhance air currents to "move" objects.
PROS: Versatile and heavy-hitting.
CONS: Effects begin to gradually decrease the moment they are casted; it takes about a half hour for items to return to their normal effect if not renewed. Quetzal's unable to cancel effects early and can only simultaneously cast this on up to 5 items. She can only use this power when she's in physical contact with something she's casted with an Enchantment.

Enchantment: When Quetzal soaks these items in a magical solution (usually in her bathtub at home), various chosen effects remain permanently. Effects do not only include amplification of existing qualities like Augment does.
PROS: Quetzal now has "magic armor" that exponentially increases her strength and durability as well as a "magic weapon" (the garden weasel) with multiple effects (flight, reinforced durability, etc.). Contact with these charmed items allows her to use Augment in the heat of battle without concocting painstaking bathtub solutions.
CONS: Quetzal gets the majority of her ingredients from her grandmother's farm, which is way out in the countryside. Getting the effects she wants is also largely dependent on trial and error due to countless variables (time soaked, ingredients, order of ingredients, solution's temperature, etc.), so it's difficult for her to replicate effects. Casually bringing a garden weasel to commandeer the upstairs bathroom for suspicious hours isn't easy, either.

Athletic: She's played tennis for almost a decade now, so her reactions, strength, and general endurance are good. She's usually the one taking her family's two dogs out for a jog, as well.
PROS: Aside from enhanced strength, Quetzal puts skill and finesse into beating up her enemies.
CONS: Regardless of how she takes care of her fitness, her body itself is a bit small and can be knocked around by larger opponents.

Weapon(s): Garden weasel, hot peppers, glass marbles, her body.
Style: When in battle, Quetzal is anything but subtle. From her costume to her powers to her fighting style, everything is straightforwardly set to devastate the enemy through sheer force.
Strengths: Who cares if her kick is easy to read or her swing is easy to set up a block to when she can overwhelm her targets with pure strength? Effective for drawing fire to protect others.
Weaknesses: Secret spy mission? Have Quetzal as anything but the distraction and the mission will fail. If there are hostages involved she'll hesitate, but usually villains don't have to worry about that kind of thing anyway.

Background:
Missy has a great life: her family owns a house with a big lawn in a nice upper-middle class neighborhood of a Metropolis suburb; they have two adorable dogs; her father commutes to Metropolis to work at a bank and her mother is a nurse at a local hospital; and, with a little effort, Missy's prepping to follow her big brother to college. It's just too bad her little sister is battling what might be cancer at 10 years old, though the doctors aren't even sure if Esperanza's mysterious illness is cancerous.

Just a few months ago, Esperanza had been excitedly getting ready for a school field trip to a Metropolis science museum, and it all would have gone off great if now for an unfortunate series of coinciding events: a school bus breakdown, a 10-year-old girl opting out of a bathroom break, a truck driver drowsy at the wheel, and a chemical company paying strategic amounts of money to "put off" complying with environmental regulations.

Esperanza recovered from her physical wounds well enough and the media clammered for a couple weeks about trucking regulations and lawsuits, but when a persistent fever and itching sores lasted long after, representatives from Archen Accelerate Corporation suddenly paid the Noguerra family a visit. And, well, weren't they partially responsible for Esperanza's condition, anyway, so why shouldn't they fund her hospital bill? The real problem arose when Missy's mother went to a Metropolis medical convention in the summer—heavily sponsored by Archen Accelerate Corporation—and another disaster occurred. Missy had been visiting her grandmother's farm out in the countryside when the news hit that her mother was also in the hospital for what seemed to be the same symptoms as her younger sister.

It took her almost an entire month to figure out some basic ways to effectively combine the "magic plants" she had always scoffed at before, and somewhere along the way she had to suffer through a strained annual company picnic alone with her father as her older brother had left for college at that point, and that was when Addison Qin, whose father worked for the same company Missy's did, wormed into her plans.
