Heroes of Cray: Chapter 4

Winds~ leaned over on the oak tree and let the breeze calm her, the boy a bit shorter than Winds~ sat down next to her and begin looking through her deck; a card of a colourful dragon surrounded by bolts of lightning.

Winds~: Light, something wrong?

Light: I was just looking at your deck again, maybe it will give me some ideas, teacher.

Light rested his head on his elbow, his yellow polo jacket zipped up fully and his jeans made him look even more innocent, he places the cards back into the deck box and handed it to her.

Light: You said that you can hear them right? How come I don't sense anything?

Winds~ patted his head and smiled, she looked young and friendly but Light could tell that she had a hint of seriousness.

Winds~: It's not that you can't hear them, I don't think they know you well enough for you to notice their voices, I had used them for almost my whole life, so its normal for me to be close to them.

Light: I hope it's not a bother but could you tell me what they think of me?

Winds~ closed her eyes and stayed silent, Light could hear the wind sweep through her hair, her onyx colour scarf swayed, she then opened them.

Winds~: They said your great company, always trying your best to learn from me and said that someday you might be a good card fighter like me.

Winds~ then grinned brightly.

Winds~: But they think that with me and my deck, we are an unbeatable pair.


Misaki watched over the counter, her lavender hair suddenly dropped down over her face, she brushed it off and jerked back to see Kamui in front of her.

Kamui: Yo! I was wondering if you saw big bro around today.

Misaki: He was here last 2 hours ago, he left for home.

Kamui sat down near her and tapped his fingers on the counter; he groaned and started to shake his head.

Misaki: If you got fleas then get out.

Kamui: No it's not that, it's just... that girl, it was as if she knew how the game will end....

Misaki turned her chair over so she was facing Kamui; she patted down her uniform which was black with red stripes.

Misaki: I think you got it wrong, she didn't know how the game will end, she just knew how to control the game... you just blindly attacked her and she read you easily enough.

Suddenly a visitor appeared in the shop, a boy with short dark hair scanned the room for players.

Light: I was wondering if you were happy to fight me.

Kamui leaped out of his seat and ran towards the boy.

Kamui: well you sir have your first challenger right here!

Light was a bit confused but he accepted, they both got their field prepared.

Both: Stand up! Vanguard!

Battle 2: Light ( Gold Paladin ) vs. Kamui ( Nova Grappler )

Light: Black Dragon Whelp, Vortimer!

Kamui: Beast Deity, White Tiger!

Light: I will start, draw
Hand 6

Light:  I Ride, Scout of Darkness, Vortimer! And I activate its skill!

Light places his hand down and started to draw 7 cards, he then shown Kamui a Spectral Duke Dragon card.

Light: I place this to my hand

Light grabs his hand and places a cute smile on his face

Light: I Call Speeder Hound and end my turn

Kamui mind: Why call a shield as a booster so early?

Kamui: Draw! I Ride! Beast Deity Scarlet Bird! And I move White Tiger behind it

Kamui: Boosted by Tiger, Scarlet Bird attacks!

Light: I guard with Flame of Victory! ( 18,000 )

Kamui: What? Why so early? Hmmph Drive Check

Drive Check:  Shining Lady ( Critical Trigger )

Kamui mind: what a waste....

Light: Draw! I Ride, Black Dragon Knight, Vortimer!

Kamui stares at Lights field but shakes his head

Kamui mind: Big bro uses different cards than his, I have to be careful

Light: Skill! I retire one of my Units... Speeder Hound

Kamui eyebrow raises, Light retires his Unit and places his hand on his deck

Light: in return, I can superior call 2 cards from the top of my deck, pretty cool huh?

Light: Stand and Draw, and now I Ride! Spectral Duke Dragon!

Light looks down at his Vanguard and sighs.

Light mind: How come I can't experience the image I see when my teacher is around.... it looks so normal, maybe I should bump up the fun.

Light: Skill! I retire Punisher and superior call 2 units from the top of the deck, same skill as before.

Superior call: Gareth ( 8,000 ) Beaumeans ( 10,000 )

Light: I call Tron!

Kamui: No guard....

Kamui: Yes! All to my Vanguard!

Light: Boosted by Gareth, Beaumeans attacks!

Light: Stand and Draw, here comes the fun part, I call Disciple of Pain! And use its skill!

Damage: 4

Kamui: You damaged yourself? Are you crazy?

Light looked up at Kamui, and tilted his head to the side confused.

Light: my teacher told me that there's many cards with interesting effects, some people don't understand them, she taught me about this and that people don't understand its benefits.

Light: I call Ezel and come to Battle phase

Light: Boosted by Pain, Ezel attacks!

Kamui: Shining Lady guards!

Light: Boosted by Gareth, Ezel attacks!

Kamui: King and Tortoise intercepts!

Light: lastly Boosted by Tron, Duke attacks!

Kamui: I don't guard

Twin Drive: Victory of Flame ( Critical Trigger ) Greeting Drummer( Stand Trigger )

Light: I give all my power, critical to my Vanguard and stand Tron, wow; you came at the best time!

Damage check: Twin Blader ( 6000 ) Tough Boy ( 8000 )

Light: Now I can Limit Break thanks to Pain

Limit Break: counterblast 2 retire 3 of your own Units to stand VG Duke, he loses Twin Drive

Kamui: No way....

Light: Boosted by Tron, Duke attacks once more ( 21,000 + 6000 = 28,000 )

Kamui looks down at his hand; he drops his hand revealing only 15,000 shield and a G3

Kamui: No Guard....

Drive Check: Duke Dragon

Damage Check: Azure Dragon

Light: Good Game

Kamui: Yeah, Nice Fight

Kamui Damage 6 Light 3 ( due to Pains skill )

Light looked over to Kamui, he felt sorry for the over kill, and realised that Kamui wasn't used to seeing those kind of card skills. Light patted him on the back

Light: The world keeps changing, keep yourself updated as much as you can, hone your skills and you can overcome anything! I too use an Azure Dragon deck, but I like my Gold Paladins too. Many skills are dangerous so I try to avoid them.

As Light walked out of the shop, Aichi came running in and comforted Kamui

Kamui: its ok big bro, the kid's right... maybe I need to explore more about the game itself.

Aichi: You're not the only one; we all need to train more, maybe not what we thought...

Flashback

Winds~: I hope after that match, you have learnt something and your misplays; I wish you

luck in Hong Kong's Circuit.

Flashback ended

Aichi: I feel Winds~ has something different in her game play... it's like she has her own rhythm and tricks and.... she was having fun...


A man older looking than Winds appeared behind the tree, he shook her rapidly

???: Time to get up Winds~ it's time for you to end your shift

Winds~ mumbled in her sleep and opened her eyes to see the man; she yawned, stretched and then rested her back against the tree. Winds stood up straight and saluted to the man, even though he was slightly shorter than her. The man saluted back.

Winds~: Man... And I was starting to like it here on Earth; the winds are so gentle and nice that it rocked me to sleep. Is it already over?

Winds~ looked at her gadget on her wrist, it said: 6:00pm

Winds~: I guess I slept in. Sorry Rolf

Rolfagia: No worries, so anything unusual you found out?

Winds~ pointed over to the south, Card Capital is lit up so nicely in the night, and she could see Aichi and Kamui having fun inside as shadows. She smiled.

Winds~: Keep an eye on that kid for me. If you get bored feel free to go there and have a card fight over there but remember...

The wind blew past them, her large black trench coat swayed with the wind as well as her scarf and hair, her black trousers didn't budge and her face was calm and emotionless feeling the wind on her face.

Winds~: Don't lose track of the boy, Aichi.
