Description

Ah! My favorite Guardian, right here! :squee:

I had a lot of fun figuring out the lighting and shadows in this one. The sun isn't quite peeking up yet, but I thought this was the perfect background for him.

Whenever I've seen the sun rising, there has always been this very peaceful, tranquil moment before it actually happens, and I thought it fit perfectly with his character. I just want to give him a big hug! I love him so much!

Every time I see these dragons I become more and more curious about the actual story. There's something deep and thoughtful about this dragon. Something probably very heavy or at least very present on his mind -see this is how well you draw. You tell a story without words and that is powerful. I have the feeling I would like this guy's story.
I really love the detail you put into the dragons, not just the markings although those are cool, but the fades and shadows of color. This one has a definite light source and I really like his coloring.
(Random fun fact: When I leaned back the screen the details became more refined and defined, and the lighting became epic! People look at it again! Seriously!)
I was going to give you another nudge on the background and some of the lighting, but after I tilted my screen like that - it was an accident that turned awesome. I realized you have artistic vision! (This should be a superpower.) The minor details added so much into it. So I'm just going to say lighting. But I love the original version - non-tilted - you can see the colors and details so much better.
Keep drawing, Fyredragon5! You've got a gift and don't let anyone tell you otherwise! Not even nit-pickers! You're amazing!
I don't know what convinced this dragon to get up at dawn to think - maybe he was up all night. My only concern is the color of the sky. It's beautiful, but a tad ominous. After all: Red in the morning, sailors take warning.
Beautiful. No, Masterful. <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/c/c…" width="20" height="20" alt="" title="Clap"/>
