Red Cursed OCT reference sheet

See, this is what you get if you put an OC from an original novel into a tournament: tmi. Any questions or stuff I’ve missed I’ll be happy to answer. Sorry for anything that's not relevant; I tried to cut it down but some of the important stuff needed context.

Name: Red
Age: He’s considered to be 16 (see history)
Appearance: Dark hair and eyes, long sleeve black crew-neck, black trousers, black trainers. He’s about 5’6” (170cm) tall and weighs around 57lbs (45kg) (He’s a bit shorter than average and underweight). Swirly Red tattoo on chest.
Curse: -Red is possessed by an unimaginatively named demon (Aye)
-The demons feed off of Red’s emotions (this is why he hardly ever shows any)
-Apart from this, the demon demands Red intakes a strict diet of meat and sugars. (The opposite diet to that of a dieting vegan)
-The demon will protect the vessel by any means necessary.
-Red can call on the demons in three ways:
1- If he consumes the blood of an enemy, Aye will possess his body completely and kill them as quickly as possible. He regains control once he fights it back, or when the target is dead.
2- If he consumes his own blood, Aye will take over and kill anything and everything until Red wins control again.
3- If Red is in real trouble, he can cast out a demon to do his bidding. Although it’s effective, it leaves Red’s body defenseless. Red has only done this once, and he doesn’t plan to do it again in a hurry.
(If any of these are occurring, his eyes glow red. All of these methods weaken Red’s ability to regain control of himself. If he uses them too often, he could grant the demons permanent control of his body. This is part of why he wants the curse gone.)
Advantages- Red spent nearly 50 years in an alternate dimension, during which he learned as much as he could, got himself to peak physical condition and invented a martial art.
- He has a very logical mind. He likes to map out every possible scenario, and then plans accordingly. After a short amount of study time, he will be able to accurately predict the enemies’ strategy
- He can call on the demons, but this is considered a last resort.
Disadvantages-
-As a child, he hurt the back of his head pretty badly (see history), and never got it fixed up. The fracture is small, but a good hit to the back of his head will cause him a lot of pain.
-He’s smaller and lighter than a lot of his opponents.
-He’s not very strong or particularly fast- he relies mostly on his ability to dodge and prefers skill to strength
-He won’t make the first move, especially against a woman or someone younger than him.
-He doesn’t understand the concept of trash talk.
Personality/Quirks/Other stuff-
He won’t talk to you unless he trusts you
He can see all demons, and talk to them, but you can’t tell if he’s doing this unless you can see the demons too.
At all times, he carries with him: a bag of sweets, his notebook (containing details of emotions he may be experiencing or seeing on others), a small knife and his phone (It’s a brick phone- could double as a weapon >:3 NOKIA-POW!)
He hides another tiny knife up his sleeve. It’s attached to a long, stretchy cord, so he can flick it out and have it retract in a second. It isn’t enough to kill, but he can use the retrieved blood to summon the demons.
He likes sweets, the colour black and the smell of burning, but hates socialising, the colour Blue and anyone that questions him.


History: Seconds after he was born, Red’s soul was flooded with a legion of demons in need of a home. He grew up reasonably normally until he was about three, when the demons started talking to him. He began to take their advice, finding that most of what they said was beneficial to him. However, this resulted in what others would perceive as strange behaviour: for example, Red only eats sweets and meat, and never talks to people unless they’ve earned his trust. The demons also prevented Red from feeling/ showing most of his emotion, so he would never laugh or cry or even smile (note: sometimes in extreme scenarios he will feel or show emotion, but it’s VERY rare).
At school, Red was very quiet but was quickly identified as gifted. The other kids were afraid of him, as small children can sometimes sense the presence of evil spirits. Eventually, when Red was 11, the stress of having such a weird child caused Red’s mother to snap. She realised Red was possessed and tried to kill him with a paperweight to the back of his head. This was the first time the blood curse was activated. Red couldn’t stop the demons from taking over his body, so was forced to watch his mother’s death from the point of view of the murderer.
After this, Red made a run for his local forest. While there, he met up with Warden, Surge and Warden’s sister, Ursa. Together, they formed the original BLUR. The other three explained to Red that they belonged to a race of superhumans, and told him about a prophecy in their culture that depicted the arrival of six half-breeds who would change the course of history. The first and sixth were to be ‘Blues’, the second and third ‘Reds’ and the other two neutral. (The Reds and Blues are feuding political parties). Warden was identified as the Second, and Red as the Third. This meant he was to be in charge of the Red party.
This was less than ideal for Red, who hates social interaction of any kind, so he and Warden agreed that while Red was to be the brains of the group, Warden would be the mouthpiece. One day, the first found out about the four, so launched an attack on them at night. She put a spell on the three boys, leaving Warden blind, Surge deaf and Red mute. She also Forced Red to drink Ursa’s blood, activating the blood curse once again.
The spell was set to last for ten years. The events of that night haunted Warden, meaning that he will have chronic nightmares up to three times a week. This is especially bad since he’s a telepath- anyone nearby will be sucked into his dreams, unable to escape until he wakes. Surge found a way around his problems; he invented a pair of goggles which converted sound waves and mouth movements into text, which appears on the lens. This didn’t, however, help when it came to music, one of his passions. Red took the spell the worst. He felt guilty for Ursa’s death and hated the fact he’d been powerless in his sleep, so becomes an insomniac.
Not being able to communicate, Red felt useless. He decided to preserve himself in the demon’s realm. So, halfway through the spell’s toll, he locked himself in his bathroom and left with the demons. Demon time is different to human time- what was five years in the real world felt like fifty to Red. He put the time to good use: he studied everything he could, trained himself physically and mentally and even devised his own style of martial arts. When he unlocked the door of the bathroom again, his friends were adults, but he was still just a 16 year old.
On the day he returned, the BLUR were having trials for its tenth and final member. The winner; a fourteen year old girl called Shada. Red and Shada immediately became friends- she had a similar thought process to Red, was powerful enough to look after herself, and didn’t judge him for the demons he hosted. It was the closest Red had ever come to love.
However, Shada was the fifth in the great prophecy, and was under pressure from both sides to swear her loyalty to them. She made a mistake on a dangerous mission and was captured by the Blues, then publicly executed.
Red was enraged at her death, and released two of the demons to destroy those who had killed her. The superhuman race knew Red was dangerous, but after seeing the evil inside of him, many turned their backs on the Reds completely. Once he was over the initial outburst, Red began to question the circumstances of Shada’s death. The clues didn’t match up. Red knew that Shada easily could have faked it, but then he needed to know how and why. He wants to follow the evidence, but the demons stop him every time he tries. He hopes that by removing the curse, he can track Shada down without interference, develop a normal social life and raise support for the Reds against the First’s murderous ways.
