EDIT: Fixed some typos. c:

DUN DUN DUNNNN~

...It's 5am, I need to go to bed. OTL Please excuse me if your comment went unanswered or goes unanswered - I'll try my best and get to them all soon. c:

Oh! Before you continue, please take a moment to read my COMMENTARY ON SARA IN BURNING BRIDGES. I mean absolutely no disrespect and I want to treat the ‘Wife of Gary Oak’ with as much objectivity as I can.

And if you’re still wondering who Rachel Collins is by now, surprise! It’s Punzie. Rapunzel IS a nickname or, more specifically, it’s a name Punzie chose for herself after reading a lot of fairytales.

Also, obligatory Tangled joke is obligatory. I don’t think I could escape it, not when I have a character named Rapunzel.

I kind of regret spending the last three months doing nothing but a filler page, but at the same time I really wanted this page, at least for the character relationships it builds. That and I wanted to show Moira and Donny dealing with the logistics of being saddled with a little girl and the different ways the both of them deal with it. The next page will be delayed because I’m leaving the country to study in University. c: It involves Sabrina and what happens at Silph and was originally going to be part of this page, but I think this page already became too long for its own good.

This page is HUGE. It literally took up four different files (not counting the panels with backgrounds which I did separately) that I worked on at different points in time and had to stitch together because the maximum file length in SAI is 10000px (this is nearly 16000). In a way, it was a huge challenge that I loved, but it’s way too exhausting to ever attempt again.

You might notice Shadow’s made a habit on calling Gary out for his bullshit. :V He may be Gary’s closest friend, but he’s also Gary’s biggest critic.

Moira spent her childhood interning at Professor Oak’s lab, most of the time as extra credit, but sometimes because she just liked learning. Shadow was her co-worker, while Gary had to obligatorily visit the lab – which set them up to become her social circle as a kid. A very, very small circle. She didn’t really have a social life as a child, and she still doesn’t have one now.

…And Falker’s kind of a daddy’s boy. He’s grown up pressurized under his father’s thumb all his life, and is a pretty quiet, sort-of nervous young man (he gets better later on, though).

:cookie: Also, cookie for you if you recognise the allusion in Serena Joy’s name without Google. c:

Pokemon Centers operate as a form of welfare – providing free healthcare, food and board to Trainers and Pokemon, provided they meet certain criteria (and pay some of the worst taxes you’ve ever seen). They tend to do it since most taking on the League are very young and usually come from poorer families, and return home once they’ve gotten enough money to support their families. Others, however, see the journey as a spiritual one, and are middle-aged retirees or people between jobs looking for spiritual guidance.

Gary, however, became a trainer at 18 after Junior College (high school) instead of going to University.

The trainers in the Center belong to my friends, but I hope to be able to cameo others in the future.

The first panel is :iconzannyhyper:’s Jamie and :iconlilmarisa:’s Oliver. Zanny’s quite famous among the End Run and SixFold scene, and I do like Jamie from her Nuzlocke, A Road’s Journey. Conversely, I think Marissa’s kind of an underappreciated gem – she has her own comic (which isn’t a nuzlocke, but is anime-based) called Type: Trainer, and if you haven’t read that yet, go do so now. C: It’s worth it.

The bottom three were chosen because of their starters (I really wanted to draw the starter trio. xD).

:iconankhesenamen:’s Kair Yu, from the Inheritance series, is an anime-based character (instead of a nuzlocke one) and easily one of my favourite OCs to support and draw. Tegan is a lovely author, and I highly, highly recommend picking up her series.

You should be able to recognise :iconlizardandblankets:'s Pencil and :iconkittengoo:’s Mae. I drew this panel well before the anncouncement that Kitten was nuzlocking a new Heartgold run, Judgement, which I’d also recommend picking up. It’s got a great protagonist and really really good supporting characters! Liz has been incredibly sweet and lovely to talk to, and her run is equal parts beautifully coloured and adorable. Really, these two panels were easily my favourite to do!

Thank you all so, so very much for the giftart! Please help me give these artists some appreciation for their hard work and effort!

(There's a 6-image thumbnail limit, so if you haven't been featured yet, please tell me. I'll try to do another feature in another deviation soon!)

I couldn't help but laugh at the Snuggly Psyduck. If this pub has singing thugs it will be even better.
