"Wade?" Peter croaked, tightening his hold on his limp boyfriend. Peter tried to hold back his sobs. "Wade?" he repeated, this time a little louder. Still no answer. Peter let out a choking gasp as he finally let it out.

He screamed.

He just let all of his emotions out at once as he clung onto his dead boyfriend's body. "Wade!" Peter wailed through his tears. He buried his face in Wilson's neck, against the ripped Deadpool costume. "Wade, please."

This was too much. This was all too much for Peter. He couldn't handle it. He finally stopped letting out raging shrieks and screams and just held his boyfriend, trying to cling as close to his dead body as possible to reach any form of life left in him. But, of course, he could not.

"You promised me," Peter fretted softly with his eyes squeezed shut and tears still slipping down his cheeks. "You promised me you wouldn't leave, Wade. You told me you'd stay with me forever." He couldn't help the pathetic whimper that escaped his throat, but he didn't care. "What am I going to do?" The tears came harder, now. He lifted his head to the sky, face twisted in agony as his eyes flew open. "What am I supposed to do?!" he screamed. Peter let out a sob, his head falling back onto Wade's shoulder as he weeps to himself.

Through his mourning, he suddenly felt his thigh vibrate. Peter sniffed, not even trying to wipe away at his wet face as he glanced down at his leg, partially confused before remembering his phone. It's probably past six, now. He should've been home an hour ago, so it was probably his dads calling to ask where he was. Peter stared at his leg for a long while. He finally reached down, pulling it out and staring at it. He let out an enraged snarl and lugged it through the air, having it smash against a destroyed building, the Stark phone breaking into tiny pieces. Peter sat there with Wade still leaning against him in his arms. He started to cry again.

His world was a mess. The love of his life was dead. He was hopelessly lost and confused and just plain heartbroken. Peter let out a flurry of choked coughs as his brain tried to order his lungs to breathe air, when his heart didn't feel like beating on. The woeful teen gently pushed back on Wade's shoulders so he could see his boyfriend's face.

Wade was smiling.

It wasn't one of his cocky smirks or mischievous grins or anything like Peter had ever seen. Wade actually looked serene and gentle and just happy. Peter trembled as his lips pressed together and the tears flowed harder. It was getting difficult to see, but Peter still didn't wipe at his eyes. He didn't want to release his hold on Wade's stiff body. He didn't want to call for his dads to help him. He didn't want to get up and carry Wade's body back to the Avenger's Tower or to the merc's apartment, or anywhere.

He just wanted Wade back.

He wanted Wade to sit up and tease him and call him a baby for crying so much. He wanted his boyfriend to roll his eyes and pull him into his arms and cradle him and shush him while saying everything will be okay. He wanted to hear Wade's excited and rushed words as he explained one of his recent jobs and what or who he had encountered. He wanted to feel Wade's warm and reassuring touch again.

Peter was shaking harder, now, as he stared at Wade's bruised and bloodied face. Peter let out another sob as he pulled his deceased boyfriend back into his arms, and ignored the drying blood that rubbed onto his Spiderman suit.

After awhile of just holding Wade, Peter had shut his eyes and tried pretending this was all just a dream, and he would soon be woken up by one of Wade's loud and obnoxious yawns. But instead of that, Peter started to hear a familiar noise in the distance, along with shouting. He didn't care. He didn't want to open his eyes. If he did, the dream would continue, and Wade would still be dead. The teen tried squeezing his eyes closed harder, trying to hurry before they reached him. But he wasn't fast enough.

"Peter! Oh, Peter, we were so worried-"

Captain America's voice trailed off as he, Iron Man, and the rest of the Avengers team stopped in front of the teen. Everything was silent, save for the shhink of Iron Man's faceplate lifting up. Soft footsteps approached him, now, and Peter still refused to open his eyes. Maybe they'd think he was dead, too, if he just didn't move.

"Peter?" Tony asked softly.

Steve tried to stay calm. His son wasn't dead, but it looked like Wade might be. Steve inhaled a shaky breath. "Peter, please say something." Everyone seemed to be holding their breath as he stepped forward, touching his son lightly on the shoulder.

Peter wanted to say nothing, yet everything all at once. He wanted to scream at his pops, telling him everything that had happened and the horrors of Wade's death. He wanted to just cry and stay in that exact spot forever and never move. He wanted to just ignore everyone and everything, and just wake up from this cursed nightmare. But his limbs didn't do anything his brain told them to do. His chin lifted and his eyes opened as he looked his poppa in the eyes. He released his hold on Wade and lifted his arms above him and out to Steve. Peter started to cry again.

Steve didn't say anything, only dropped his shield and helped his child up and off the ground. Peter instantly wrapped his arms around his father, pushing his face into his chest as he let out all of his agony into his cries.

"He's dead! I just watched him die and didn't do a damn thing about it!" he screamed. "I don't know what to do anymore, I just want him back, Poppa, I just want him back and-"

"Peter, shush," Steve hummed, closing his eyes as he lightly kissed the top of Peter's head. "If Wade saw how you were acting right now, he would be disappointed. He wouldn't want you to get so caught up in his death. He'd want you to go on and live with your life." He pulled back so he could smile sadly at his son. "Okay?"

Tony stepped over to his family, wrapping on arm around Steve's waist, and the other on Peter's shoulder. "Everything'll be okay," he promised. "Let's just get back to the mansion, and we can work out Wade's, uh, burial."

Peter stared at them for a moment. They smiled reassuringly at him, trying to convince him that "everything will be okay". The teen just stared at them, dumbstruck. They didn't understand. They were probably happy Wade was dead; they never even really approved of them dating, anyway. They were probably glad he was out of Peter's life! Peter's eyebrows furrowed as he glared at them.

"You don't understand!" he snapped, jerking away and out of their reach. "You just don't get it." The tears came back. "I loved Wade," he tried to say loud and strong, but it came out a whisper. "And all you say to me is, 'he wouldn't want this' or 'he would want that'." He clenched his fists as he screamed at them. "You didn't even know him!" Peter whipped around, collapsing beside his dead boyfriend with his back to everyone. "But I did. And he didn't deserve to die." He let out a whimper as he held Wade to him, burying his face in the merc's shoulder. Tony and Steve stood there, staring at their broken son. Tony turned around and faced those who had come with them to fetch the Spiderman, and waved them off. He noticed a few of them had started crying, but he tried to ignore it as they nodded and started either flying off, or hitching a ride with someone who could fly.

Steve didn't know what to do. Peter was right, though. They didn't understand it. They hadn't realized how much Peter and Wade had actually cared about each other. And both Steve and Tony just never approved of the two's relationship. Wade was a trouble maker; a mercenary, for crying out loud! Of course the fathers never had accepted him. But what were they supposed to do now? How were they going to care for their destroyed child, who could barely carry a broken heart?

Maybe this is one situation the superheroes could not fix.

Quick question. Are you planning on making another fanfiction of before all of this happened? When they first met, started dating, fell in love, finding out each others identities, ect. That would be cute. Love this fanfic btw even if I balled my eyes out
