Constructive criticism welcome.


This is a remake of an old drawing in an effort to improve image quality and update my techniques. There are still some things I need to improve on like armor design and scale. I really screwed up on the train cars in his hands and his new armor could still use some improvement.

It also seems that no matter how dark I draw, it comes out too light in the computer. I mean it is to the point where the pencil would break if I press any harder. This is the part I need the most help with.

origin:

He was an ordinary raccoon that lived near the suburbs of Atlanta, GA. Ultimately his mutation into a giant monster started when a train carrying the corpse of an unknown monster derailed from a prank gone horribly wrong by some kids. Roko just happened to be in that general area and ended up getting covered in its blood while hiding in a nearby ditch. Roko also claims that years of eating nasty human garbage contributed to his mutation as well. Over a few years, his intelligence increased well beyond most humans and eventually grew to about 200ft. He was able to learn the ways of the humans by secretly watching them over that period of time. To seek a more quiet lifestyle, he eventually moved into the Great Smokey Mountains close to Highway 129 aka "The Dragon's Tail" (45 minutes from Knoxville, TN). It was isolated enough for a giant like him but still close enough to humans to "use" their resources such as the Oakridge National Labs with its atomic, giant monster, and materials research departments. He understood that he could only hide in secret for so long and eventually made himself know to certain humans and other monsters by offering his services.

super intelligence:

fast learner- he can quickly learn the patterns of his friends enemies and use that to his advantage. He can also learn languages and technology at a rate impossible for most humans.

engineer- One of his most famous services. He can quickly construct weapons and armor, weather it is in the field or in his own workshop/lair. He even has gone so far as to sell some of his designs to humans.
Many of his weapons and armors are composed of pieces of other giant monsters and recycled military equipment.
examples- a utility knife carved form giant monster bone, a pistol like gun created from a highly modified artillery cannon, armor crafted from the skin of the a giant monster with parts of recycled tank armor added in and all sewn together by industrial grade steel cable.
The AI on his armor stands for "Artifex Industries." Yes he does put this emblem on some of his works because it is not like a 200ft raccoon could keep a good secret identity anyway.

kaiju entrepreneur- He understands how humans do business (both legally and illegally). He will accept checks but often requires payment in raw materials (usually in units of shipping containers). He understands their shady underworlds and knows there is more than one way to get what he wants. For the right payment, he will do just about any job. Most commonly: assassin, body guard, engineer, hunter, transporter, and solider.

diplomacy- He dose not like to get into direct fights. He often tries to negotiate with humans and other monsters for a nonviolent solution. If that dose not work then he will convince, hire, or trick someone else to fight for him.

amazing dexterity- Even at his size he can handle many human sized objects with ease and minimal damage. There have even been a few reports were he retrieved items from deep within large buildings with only so much as a broken window or small hole in the wall, although he will simply smash buildings open if he has to.

self taught mixed martial arts- for when he dose have to fight hand to hand

good marksman- he has trained himself in firearms to the equivalent of a military sniper

respectable speed and agility- not the best but often good enough to keep him out of trouble

weaknesses:

physically he is relatively weak compared many other monsters his size. He often has to rely on his wits and technology to survive and dose everything he can to avoid a direct fight.
Other than his intelligence, he has no major powers. He has no natural ranged attacks, no super strength (by giant monster standards), or super healing abilities. His claws and teeth are painful but not dangerous to most other monsters.

budget and resources- like with many engineering problems, what resources are available greatly influence the quality of the products. Roko can't always get the resources he needs and that means that sometimes his products are not the most reliable.

personality:

knowledge hungry- he is constantly experimenting, studying, and doing whatever it takes to satisfy his hunger to learn about his surroundings and existence in general.

occasionally selfish or flat out treasonous to those around him

his loyalty usually can be bought by the highest bidder

He dose have an understanding of right and wrong. Deep down he has a good heart but often has to do some shady things to make a living. He has made friends and even more enemies in his line of work.

know it all- sometimes he finds it necessary to correct other people for some of the most mundane things.

misc facts:

boarder line germaphobe- he dose not like to get dirty. He often washes his hands and the things he brings home. He sometimes even carries around his own homemade hand-sanitizer.

major motor head- Roko loves well engineered cars. He can name the exact car at a glace and even sometimes by sound alone. He goes so far to collect and sometimes design the best cars around. He even built his own RC robot and controller to place inside human cars so he can drive them on the infamous Dragon's Tail. Ironically, there were several times in his normal raccoon life where he was almost hit by a car.
