Artsmith Magazine and Paid Contest!

Colors Poetry Contest!!


When I started the Wordsmiths group here at DA, I had three goals - produce a new siteword-smyths.com/  &#…;, an ezine  artsmyths.wordpress.com/ … a paid poetry contest. I have accomplished the first two. I am pleased to be able to say that our wordpress site is receiving daily submissions from authors outside of DA, as that gives all of you featured there more exposure.

     
I am pleased to announce my third project - a poetry contest with a cash prize awarded to the first three place winners.

The contest will be poetry only and will run from August 1 - October 31, 2012. The theme is "Color". You can choose to write about one color, or many. You can describe a situation, person, object, scene - anything, but describe it in color(s). How it looks...makes you feel.


The prizes will be as listed below: (It would be helpful to have a Paypal account in order to be paid.)

First Place
$75.00
Featured at both Wordsmith sites (permanent page at wordpress)
Artsmith feature and permanent page

Second prize is $50 and the above features.

Third is $25 and above features.

4-5 Honorable Mentions will receive the features.

Anyone who is a member at Wordsmiths can enter and you may submit two pieces. On August 1, this folder will be open:  word-smiths.deviantart.com/gal… submit your poem to it. It does not have to be approved - approval is automatic.

Rules:
1. You must be a member of the group. If you are not, join. Remember - we require new members to have at least three pieces of literature in their gallery.

2. The piece must be brand new, created for this contest. You MUST mention the contest (Colors Contest) by name  and the group sponsoring it in your comments to be considered as an entry.

3. Do NOT put your piece as a response to this post. Do not send it as a link to me or Wordsmiths. You must submit to the folder.

4. Entries will be judged based on originality, use of poetic devices such as meter, imagery, etc. Any genre will be accepted.

The winners will be announced before Christmas.
