Frequently Asked Questions

Overall:

"What is this group about?"
This group is about cats who live in an underground city, dim light is provided for them by glowing crystals found on the walls, floor, and ceilings of the caves that they call home. Their tails also hold different colored markings that help produce light.

"Where can I see if this group is open or not?"
The group status is kept up to date and posted at the top right of our profile.

"Can my character have a mate?"
Yes! Characters in this group are allowed to get married. There are no gender specifics for this so yes two guys or two girls may get married as well. But it must be a fellow active character! You're character Cannot be mates with an NPC.

"What does SFW mean?"
SFW stands for "Safe for Work" which means no private parts or things that would get you in trouble at work or in school.

"How active do you have to be to be considered 'active'? is there like a minimum requirement of at least one role-play and update from the user per month? or more often than that?"
The only things you will be required to do to prove that you are active are the few activity checks that we will have each year! To prove activity in these all you'll need to do is comment stating that you are active and perhaps post a link to youre most recent group activity to show it. We will have these maybe once every three months, depending on how many people we have wanting to join the group, and how active the group is as a whole. We will also have recomended, but not required activities happening every so often. (between two and four times a year)

"Can the cats read? "
yes they can, and it's actually mentioned in the plotline/history for the group.

"What creatures are there other than cats and lizards in the tunnel?"
Check out our Encyclopedia folder in the gallery! And feel free to shoot ideas for new things at the admins! While we wont take everything, we are always open to suggestions!

"What is the plot meme for?"
the plot meme is where you would write down an idea for a role-play plot that you have and what kind of character's you would like to RP with for that specific plot.
for example, a plot could be that your character would like to travel to the new age city and exchange goods with the vendor there. So you write that on the meme, then you would put that (as an example) You are looking to RP this plot with a guard character or the other vendor character.
Then once posted, any other member with a character who falls into those job's would be able to comment if they were interested in RPing that particular plot with you.

You could also narrow the plots to say that you will only RP it with a particular class, gender, or age!

"Can we trade in points for Crysis?"
Nope Crysis will have to be earned by Rp and artworks. (read how to earn them in the Currency journal.

Tails:

"Are there an specific markings to use for the tail marks?"
Nope! Each cats tail design is their own, you get to choose what they look like, though there are some minor specifics to follow which can be found in the Character Guidelines journal.

"What kind of designs am I allowed to use for my characters tail markings?"
Markings can be whatever you want them to be so long as they follow the correct colors for the class your cat is in and they remain on the tail itself!

"What if I want to change my characters tail marking colors?"
You can do this, however it costs Crysis to do so. Prices for both temporary and permanent color change are listed in the Currency Journal.

Additional Characters and Kittens:

"Can my character have kittens?"
Yes characters may have litters of kittens! And you do not have to be married to do so, however both members with characters involved must be ok with it. And you will have to pay with crysis in order to do so. Prices are listed in the Currency Journal.

"What would a mixed class kitten look like?"
They would look like either a traditional kitten or a new age kitten, but there will not be such thing as a mix between the two appearance wise. If you would like your kitten to have tail markings the color of the opposing class however, you can save up crysis and pay to use a color offered to the other class of cats. As far as how many traditional kittens or new age kittens you litter would have, that would be determined by the group's admins, and probably will be based on the number of positions filled in the classes. So if there are fewer Traditional cats than New Age cats, more of your kittens will be Traditional.

Can I have an Anthro and a Feral character?"
You can only start out with one character, but sure! If you save up the crysis to buy a second member slot you can have a character of each class!

"Does my character have to have a mate in order to have kittens?"
Nope! As long as you have the crysis your character could have kits with an NPC or have had a one night stand or anything, however if its a one character thing your character will have to be female to do this.

"If you buy a litter of kittens do you have to make them exist immediately, or can you wait? (perhaps to role play the cat pregnant or something)"
You can wait as long as you wish to make them exist, once the slot is purchased, it is up to you when they come in!

"Do kittens count as characters? or would you have to buy character slots to roleplay the kittens?"
They do count as characters, however you don't have to buy character slots for them! Since the kittens are paid for by the 'parents' their character slots have already been paid for.

</b>"If the parents are in different Class's, where would the kittens be born? Where would they live until they are old enough to be apprentices?"</b>
They would live with their mother for until they are old enough to eat solids, after that they would live in their respective class. So if the kitten is New Age it would live with whichever parent is also New Age, if it is Traditional, it will stay with the Traditional Class Parent.

Characters:

"Can I change my character from an New-Age to a Traditional or vise-versa? What about changing the gender of my character?"
No and No, if your character starts out as a New-Age, it must stay an New-Age, same with Traditionals. As for gender, you may not change your characters gender either, you remain what ever gender your character starts out as.

"Can I change my characters job?"
Yes you may! However it also costs Crysis; price is found in the Currency Journal.

Traditional VS New Age:

"What are the age differences between New-Age and Traditional. Do New-Age only live up to 17 years and die or is their an age group. Same for the Traditionals themselves."
Both classes of cats have the same life spans, and there's no set age to kill off a character in a group. However if your character is very old in cat years you better make sure that they are acted out in that correct age. A suggested maximum age would be 20. You also are not expected to age your cat constantly as the group goes on, you may age them as you like.

"How big are New age cats compared to Traditional cats?"
They both have the same average size, the only differences between the two are that New Age cats stand on two legs and have hand like paws.

"Could a New Age cat and a Traditional cat be mates?"
Yes but it is very very rare and somewhat discouraged, they would not be able to get married in the group due to tensions. But it is totally possible and you can still have kittens there would just be a few additional rules (see FAQ section about kittens)

"Do the certain types of cats have to live in a certain city"
New-Age cats must live in the New City, and Traditional Class Cats must live in the Old Ruins

Careers and Jobs:

"Will there ever be a role where a traditional cat lives among the new age cats and vice versa as an ambassador?"
we don't have an ambassador position at the moment, we have far to many positions to fill as it is, but perhaps if the need for one comes up in the distant future and the group is full it might be considered (we did discuss having messenger positions since there are no phone-lines in the tunnels.

"How do vendors get their wares? do the hunters deliver all the stuff they get straight to the vendors to sell, then have the vendors pay them for the work? "
The hunter's would be dropping it off at the vendor's store (since hunters don't really have their own shop to go to.)

"What about the blacksmiths? do they get their supplies the same way?"
For blacksmiths they would technically be working with the vendor's because in order to make their goods they would have to get supplies from the vendor, and then in return the vendor would be the one to sell whatever it is the black smith makes through their market.

"Would the blacksmiths sell their own stuff, or would they sell it to the vendors to market?"
Any other goods would me made by the vendor his/her self, (things like cloths and such) though buttons and anything that requires smelting or welding would be made by the blacksmith, so items would be made together.

"Do Vendors/Blacksmiths/Hunters earn crysis through their work?"
No, the only way you can earn crysis is through activity in the group, all information on how many you get for each activity is in the Currency journal.

I seem to come up with a lot of questions :'D

So considering the simplicity of their technology and the lights from crystals, lava, and tails, do they use any fire?
Like maybe candles, torches, fireplaces, etc. Maybe like certain dark places where there is no lava or crystals to help. (even though tail markings still glow, haha)
and maybe it would be used for heat sources, especially in the New Age city??? o3o idk. I'm just really curious.

..But then I realize wood and such would probably be more rare than on the surface, so um... I really don't know xD
