Description
A psd file of the Cadance Portrait image.
Instead of spending hours trying to write up and compose a tutorial/work-flow guide it's easier to just make this available. :lazy:
(The original file size is 3556 x 2000 px)
Here you can see the layers that i used to paint this picture.
Notes:
I usually use several layers to lay down the initial colors, that makes it easier to paint certain areas (like the hair behind or in front of the head) - in this file they are already reduced to one layer though (except for the crown)
The shading us usually made on two layers - one for the hard shading and one for the soft shading - these are already merged into a single one here - but i have not used much of the soft shading in this picture anyway.
The file includes a preview of the brushes that were used, too:
Brush #1 - used for most of the details and the shading
Brush #2 - used for subtly shaded areas (usually hard to see) - you can see it well on Gilda's neck in this image: [link]
Brush #3 - used for the thin bright lines
Brush #4 - used for laying down opaque areas of color - usually at the beginning of the painting process
If you need a program the can open psd files, you can try FireAlpaca [link] (It's free)
