Masking with Dani-Owergoor

Q: What is your overall process for masking and integrating different elements/stocks into your works?

A: Well, stocks have to "align" with each other, mainly position.
I use the mask in almost all my layers. Depends on the type of work and what it will mean to me. The most important works are the ones I use most to take care of all the images, so I don't 'hurt' the original image if I don't like the result.

Q: Did you ever find masking difficult and if so, what did you do to improve and get better?

A: This question is funny because although I know that there are many difficult things to work with, I can't face the masking process as a problem, I see it as a 'natural process in which we must do'. There are two options, make or make, then,  see it as something quite normal. I see no difficulty, because when you have to learn something, it seems to be difficult because you don't know. But what happened to me was different, I "discovered by chance", and this discovery greatly facilitated my life, precisely for this reason, I can't find it difficult to work with masks.

Q: Do you have any tips or tricks for someone who may be struggling with masking? Any specific tutorials that helped you out when you were learning?

A: When I learned I didn't know what I was doing. On my beginning I didn't know using this process. I worked many years without knowing how to use masks. One day I started to tweak more things in PS and found this function. Painting until I figure out what it was for!! Upon discovering it was like to "fall in love"! I could not indicate specific tutorials for this (i really don't know), but surely there are many here in Deviantart!

Q: How would you use masks to blend feet or the bottom of clothing into the ground/grass?

A: I believe that use masks to blend feet in the most basic form possible.
I use a grass brush, so, in the same time I erase the bottom of the feet, they have the effect of grass on top.
In some cases, I use the basic brush, if the model is too far/small so that will not be realized.

Q: Do you use clipping masks in your work and if so, how do you use them?

A: Clipping mask is what I use most, and how I use!
For example, if I have a certain color in environment but wish to model this environment does not follow the same tone, I create clipping mask layer on  this model, painting it with the color I desire she has, or I create a photo filter in clipping mask or a color balance. It's infinite ways we can use the cliping mask. I can show show you an example of my work with clipping mask, here:
