Waking Nightmares:
It begins in the same way, every single night
Fire spreading from an altar in the darkness—
As all living beings are slowly consumed,
The coruscating flames appear wet with blood…
The scene then changes to a flooded hallway
Live wires dangling just above the water,
Like venomous serpents slithering in the darkness—
A single pounce would end my life…
Eventually the hallway ends with a door,
One that reminds me of forgotten yore—
And my thoughts shall be in rhyme at this point
As though lips and tongue are eternally joint…
What maddened schemes have they in mind?
It is not a question, I may ask at this time.
Quickly I am brought before a bone-wrought throne
Kneeling as my flesh is carved 'Atone'…
My thoughts return to me and they are normal now
I somehow retain awareness of where I am.
I see before me, a creature rising;
From the shadows it grins and bares its fangs—
'I am the end, which you so desperately seek,
And the more I am called; the more I shall unleash.
Chaos shall spread and all shall be consumed!
You will be the catalyst that frees me, my wretched egg of birth'
I try to deny his words, but my hands are quickly shackled as I am brought against the wall
My feet seem to sink into the ground and my mouth then melts away, leaving me trapped and mute.
I stare with eyes that convey no meaning, not to a single creature in that room
For in my company, all that remains — is the withering ash of our hopeless doom…
-
Woah doctor, you ain't lookin' so good. You been sleepin' alright?
Maybe you oughta take the night off and rest, you look like hell…

Suicidal
Blood flows from our wrists,
Making our hands turn into fists.
We only feel the pain and sorrow,
Have we given up hope for a better tomorrow?
The rope is hanging from the ceiling,
Helping us end that miserable feeling.
The pills are scattered across the floor,
Maybe we need to swallow just one more?
Others might refuse to see the cruelty of life,
While others try to end it by the knife.
Trying to get out of this cruel dream,
Sometimes all we can do is scream.
There are others like you out there,
You might not yet know where.
But they try to overcome it,
That's something not all will admit.
Every one of us needs a helping hand,
Literature
We Are Already Ghosts
Heart rate monitors show
Minimal signs of life
But no more and no less
Than of a parasite
Feeding from a life-force
That's greater than itself
We are the lost children
In need of some help
X-ray images show
The absence of a heart
Incapable of love
We are ready to depart
All these forgotten girls
And all these forgotten boys
Together we will feel
The emptiness, the void
As MRI scans show
We have beautiful minds
Just no memory recall
Of any happy times
It's too little, too late
These words are verbose
We've long since departed
We are already ghosts

The Little Girl Blinked
The little girl blinked and he was gone
Unsure if he was ever really there
But she knew that something had inspired her
To do things she wouldn’t normally dare
A teardrop too many he once told her
Had brought him from the shadows of her mind
As those around her began to wander
Across her imagination's fine line
But now he seemed to have walked away
As she found the life she had long sought
He slowly drifted back to the shadows
From her notebook and her beautiful thoughts
And the fools around her carried the spades
Burying him with her imagination
With an epitaph etched on a tombstone
‘Here lies my potential for creation’

Alright so, along with the release of the third episode here is the second poem in the Liquefaction series. Compared to the first one...Doctor Cecil doesn't seem to be doing so good. I wonder what'll happen next. Please enjoy my reading and sorry for the screwup at the end, I choked on it, but had to press on
Don't forget to send notes about what you want me to talk about during the episode. I love to get fan suggestions about topics and if you want me to discuss something then SEND A NOTE :3.
Other than that, keep tuning in, keep faving and commenting and pretty soon we're gonna rule the world. Thank you everyone for always supporting me at Word of Chen. Now let's show the world what the REAL deal is all about. *Totally posing in an epic portrait with everyone behind* Hellz yeah :3

When I first started out I couldn't avoid just bein' cold
My life revolved the things that I was always told—
I never knew the warmth of standing up to take a bow
It was not a joy that I would ever-ever be allowed
Through all the days I feared that everything would disappear
You held me up and held me close like I was something dear
I never knew I had a part of me that you would like
I guess that's what you feel when you can't even see the light…

FEAR FEAR:
Frantically he scrambles away from the dark
Eager to be free of his waking nightmare
Acting only upon the instinct within him;
Reminded constantly that he is prey
For some time he hides in the pervasive shadows—
Earnestly praying that he will not be discovered
A single sound is all it takes to jar him;
Running from a creature that he can barely see
From head to toe it is certainly monstrous
Enshrouded in an aura of absolute repugnance
As the acid drips from its cruel jaws,
Rapidly dissolving the ground below
Fearful, he cowers, beneath boxes and cardboard,
Escaping away into a tiny corner of his mind

Just stay quiet
It'll all be over soon...
Creaking springs and quiet eyes
Cold without emotion
The smell of fear is mixed with sweat
Breath like a churning ocean
The waves and tide will push and pull
as water fills the cave
The heart longs to stop itself
when there is nothing left to save

Happy birthday to you...

The muscular form above her contracting in the dark
She remembers now that her limbs are pinned
but she would not move them anyway...

Sorry I'm A Man Sorry I'm A Man:
He stands there naked
A blank-faced label
No features
No face
He is not an individual
He is exactly what you make him to be
The product of your misguided hate
The product of your personal prejudice
Caught blind and shackled
Voice stripped and throat cut
On knees and hands
He crawls beneath a slanderous hail
"Let they who are without sin, be the first to cast a stone"
Then you must all be innocent, unblackened and pure
Instead what I see
Is not angel wings and a white halo
Instead what I see
Is your silent profanity
Twisted obscene mask of humanity
Beneath the righteous sword of a figure of justice

THE COLD AIR in Baron Rorke's study did little to calm his nerves. He was expecting visitors this night and they were not the best of company. A shiver of dread ran down his spine and he spent most of the twilight hours staring out of a large window which stood behind his writing desk. It was amazing, he felt, how quickly a man could become attached to a life of luxury; only to be made painfully aware of how easy it was to lose it. War was always a frightening thing, even more so when one had the knowledge and sense to realise that it was no longer an exercise of glory, but a si

Well ahoy there Cap'n Thanks for the invite to do yet another critique on yet another beautiful piece!
Lets start off with the best part about this poem- your imagery. It's vivid to the point of me wanting to submerge myself into the story and become one of the characters. This is a big factor on why your readers eat up your poems like they havn't eaten in days. I especially love the vision you have in your second to last stanza.. genious.
The smoothness between ideas and speakers is yet agian done exteremly tastefully. Your diction especially helps with your transitions. Speaking of diction... you have an uncany way of picking unique words to put in the precise places where they should be placed. It's not too "fatty," but just right.
Well done again sir. I look forward to the next installment. Happy sailing; till you write again
May the odds be ever in your favor.
