Why would I be declined from joining?
We decline deviants for various reasons. As a group geared towards creating a positive atmosphere on deviantART, we try really hard to not decline anyone. We do decline anyone in clear violation of deviantART policy and those individuals who harass the admins of this group. As of 8/25/2013, accounts under 1 month of age are not permitted to join due to difficulties that have experienced with these members regarding moved accounts among other factors (although once a new account that wasn't from a moved deviant has turned 1 month old, they may attempt to join). Accounts that are under 1 month from a moved member will be required to mention the name of their previous account during review.

October is AWARENESS MONTH. This month, I think it would be great if we were aware of people needing commissions and people hosting contests! Sometimes it can be really hard to get your name out there. So if you know someone who needs some points or cash and has commissions open, link us to their commission info in the comments with a little explanation of why you think it is great to commission them! And if you know of any great contests going on where people can win cool stuff, link us to the contest with a little explanation of what makes the contest great! We will add it here!

Wonderful Wednesday Feature

Thanks to ALL of you who have been participating in our Wonderful Wednesday events!

I Have HopeI have Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. I have to remember to breathe every time those words come, I don’t want to believe it. I still can’t believe it. I remember the first time my counselor looked at me and told me that my depression and anxiety might be something more. Great, I thought, What could possibly be worse than this?
Firstly, PTSD is not a disorder that only affects our war heroes, though that is what it’s commonly associated with. My own first thoughts were: “isn’t that a disorder for war veterans or someone who witnessed war first-hand?“ The truth is there are many causes for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, for example: witnessing or experiencing incidents, such as mugging, rape, child abuse, drug abuse, illnesses, car accidents, plane crashes, or natural disasters such as hurricanes or earthquakes can all trigger PTSD.
