The Purple Challenge
The Purple Challenge is simple, go one day (October 19th) using only one color during your daily adventure on deviantART: purple. Here are some places you can pimp out the color purple:Your avatar. Use a simple photo editing program to temporarily turn your avatar purple.

Spirit Day 2012I became aware about the Spirit Day when DeviantART honored it last October 2010. I may not know all the reasons behind Spirit Day and that day might be an ordinary day for some people, but from what I see from the experiences we had that time, the deviantart community became united with a spirit of support, love and care to the LGBT community.
1 year later, when danlev made a news article for Spirit Day 2011, he said that the Spirit Day 2010 article is the most loved article of all time on deviantart: from all the comments, faves and interaction, etc. (well that was way back then, im not sure now, but still it made an impact)

Spirit Day 2012In early October 2010, Canadian teenager Brittany McMillan promulgated the observance of a new commemoration called Spirit Day, the first observance of which took place on October 20, 2010, in which people wear the color purple to show support for LGBT young people who are victims of bullying. Since then it has turned into a global event against bullying, promoted by GLAAD.
This year's Spirit Day is on October 19, and this is what you can do to show your support:
Submit artwork that encourages love, acceptance, tolerance, empathy, and purple!
