Spirit Day: Story
I have a friend who is terrified of coming out about their sexuality, born from the fear that their family would disown them. I could never fathom the torture they endure on a daily basis pretending to be something - someone that they aren't. Day in and day out.
Flowers are symbolic in a way, coming out and blossoming into something truly beautiful.
The tragedy is that because of the social taboo that surrounds one's sexuality, my friend may never know what it is to blossom into the person they're truly meant to be.
For all of those unable to bloom, know that there will always be someone who supports you.
