Chapter 1-The beginning
You stood there staring at the tombstone of your deceased mother.
Tears ran down your cheeks as all her memories come back to you at once.
You were alone now, nobody was here with you anymore.
Your father was all the way in central and you wonder if he even realized you were gone.
Would he even care?
You just met him anyway, after your mother died she told you to go to him and she gave you a letter for him explaining who you were.
You remember all the things she had told you about your father; he was apparently in central and he was a high ranked state alchemist.
The flame alchemist to be exact.
His name was Roy Mustang, also known as the flame Alchemist.
Your mother told you how she and him dated at one time, she met him one night while she was working as the "lady of the night" as she would say.
How she loved him so, yet when she got pregnant with you she never got a chance to tell him because of the Ishvalin war and Roy had to leave.
Afterwards, the two lost contact with each other and moved on.
On her death bed, your mother begged you to go to him and give him the letter, and so you did.
You left your hometown Resimboll and headed for central. You took the train and arrived shortly, and somehow managed to find state troopers who escorted you directly to where your so called father was.
When you finally met him, you handed the letter over and tried to explain everything to him to your best ability.
He was in shock for a while and then denial but after reading the letter knew that you were truly his daughter.
You lived with him for a while but nothing ever felt at home to you.
He was always arguing with someone about the military and never had any time for you.
You barely saw him during the day and one day you couldn't take it anymore.
The military was so deep in your life.
You were only eight, you shouldn't be going through such hardships.
So you ran away, back to the only place you knew.
Resimboll.
You managed to swipe some money from Mustang for the train and you headed home, leaving central far behind you.
When you finally get back to your home, your real home but stopped dead in your tracks as you look at what had become of your home.
Nothing but rubble was left, it had been completely destroyed and all your memories inside it were destroyed along with it.
Not knowing where to go, you went to your mother like how you would always do when you were upset; into your mother's warm arms, but there was no longer warmth of a mother to comfort you.
Only a cold stone was left in her place, which led you to be here now.
Staring at this cold stone that was all that was left of your mothers memory.
The only thing to prove that she ever even existed.
You fell on the ground and press your back against her tombstone.
You cry into your knees that were covered by your dress.
For a while there was silence, nothing but the sound of loneliness was there to comfort you.
You played with the grass beneath you with your fingertips, but hear the sound of children approaching.
You look up and see two boys with golden blonde hair, one with brown eyes one with golden eyes, playing, their mother following behind them a ways from you.
How you envied them, their laughter, their joy. You watch as they start to pass by, but they stop and stare at you.
The two boys stared at your (e/c) eyes that were full of tears and your puffy pink nose and flushed cheeks.
You break the gaze and continue to rub your fingers in the grass and dirt.
"Hey brother look at that girl over there. Have you ever seen her around?"Al asks.
"Nope but she seems pretty sad."Edward says.
"Maybe we should go over and ask her what's wrong."Al suggests.
"Or we can let her be and just forget about it."Edward says, bluntly.
"But it's late and getting dark."
"Then if she gets cold or something she'll go home, Al." But Alphonse simply shakes his head and runs over to where you were. You look up and see his big brown eyes focused directly on you.
"Hi."he says kneeling down to you.
"Hi.."you mumble.
"Are you okay?" Al asks. You don't answer and continue to play with the grass beneath your fingertips. "Oh,well it'll be okay."
You put your hands up to your face getting it dirty and start to cry again.
"Hey,don't cry!" he yelps ,trying to comfort you.
Edward runs over with their mom and kneel beside you.
Mrs.Elric pulls out a tissue and hands it to you.
You wipe your face and look at them.
"It's getting late, you should head home to your family."she tells you.
"I don't have one."you reply quietly.
"What? You don't have one?"Edward .
"Then where do you sleep? Eat? Everything?"Al asks as well.
"Where ever I find.".
"Then you'll come with us."the young boy suggested.
Ed nodded.
"Yeah, it's suppose to rain tonight and you can't stay out here in the rain!"
"Right mom??" the boys chimed in unison, looking up at their mother.
Their mother frowned at you,
"They're right.You can't stay out here."she tells you.
"But, you don't even know me though. Why would you take me in?"you ask.
Al and Ed looked at each other.
"Your name."Al stated.
"What?"
"What is your name?" Al asks again. "I'm Alphonse and this is my brother Edward."
You blink a few times before answering,
"I'm _____."you say softly.
"Well then _____, you are coming back with us!" The older brother gleams.
You shake your head.
"No, thanks for your concern but I don't want to bother anybody else with my existence."
"But-"
You stand slowly but for an unknown reason, suddenly feel dizzy as well as light-headed find yourself collapsing.
Edward and Alphonse's yells were the last thing you remember hearing before silence.
"She's going down!"
When you wake again, you were lying in a bed with a cloth on your forehead.
Sitting up, you look around the room and get up to walk to the door.
You open it slowly and peek out.
The sound of Edward and Alphonse could be heard from down the hall and you slowly follow their voices.
Peeking around the corner and see said boys along with Mrs.Elric in the kitchen.
You stood there staring for a moment before you were spotted by Al.
He gleamed.
"_____, you're awake!"
You hide behind the wall shyly.
Giggling, the boy trots over towards you and peeks his face around the corner as well.
"C'mon, dinner is ready!"
He pulls you into the kitchen and sets you down at the table next to him.
Mrs. Elric sets the food on the able on you all eat.
You eat like you haven't eaten in days, and the young boys just laugh at you.
You grab your glass of milk and turn towards Al.
"Bet I can drink all mine before you can!"you challenge him with a daring smirk.
He smirked back, accepting your challenge.
"You're on!!"
The two of you gulp your milk down and you nearly choke.
The two of you slam your glasses down on the table at the same moment.
"I win!"you cheer.
"No way! I won that one!"Al teased.
"It was a tie."Ed grumbled.
"Why didn't you do the challenge too?"you ask him.
He pushes his glass away.
"I hate milk!"he spat.
"You should drink it, it's good for you." Mrs.Elric scolds.
"I hate that stuff, it's like drinking vomit."he growled, crossing his arms.
You stand up and put your plate away, before turning back to them and bowing your head.
"Thank you for this but I have to go now."you tell them.
"What?"Al and Ed say in unison. "You can't leave."
"I have to, it's not my place to stay here."you reply.
They grab your arms tightly, pulling on you.
"_____, please stay."
"No, Al I have to go." You tell him but he gives you the puppy dog face and you blush a little. "Please stop looking at me like that."
"I will if you stay, pleeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaasssssssssseeeeeeeee." Al pleads. Mrs.Elric stands up.
"Al, that's enough._____, I'm sorry but you have to stay with us for tonight at least. It's pouring outside." You look out the window and see the rain pouring from the sky.
You let out a breath.
"Fine. Thank you." One night turned into days and days into weeks and weeks turned into months. You stayed with Elrics and lived a happy life, the one you wanted, the life you once had.
It finally returned right?

It was a cold night in Resembool. The air was icy and dense and it sent shivers up your spine. You hated the cold, since it felt like tiny daggers were poking you when it touched your delicate skin, and it made you extremely lazy; since who would want to move when they're comfy und

You would have given up and gotten out of bed an hour ago if you knew Sebastian wouldn't be there to send you right back to your room. The sun would be up in about an hour, sleeping now was pointless. With a heavy sigh, you rolled over and pulled the blankets up past your nose. Just as you thought you may finally have found sleep, your door creaked open, causing you to sit up straight in your bed. “Who's there?”

Your coffee cup sat abandoned and dirty on the night stand. Black dregs of grounds smeared the insides, leaving some trace of the caffeine you had guzzled down. Your bed looked odd for two in the morning, seeing as if was untouched and uninhabited.
Edward snored on in it's twin across the room, his metal arm glinting in the moonlight that streamed in the open window.
"I'm not tired." You yawned, feeling yourself lean towards the cold comfort of his metal. "Quit telling me to go to bed."
"You need some sleep." Al insisted with a faint smile in his voice. "I'll be fine by myself. I'm used to it."
