It was finally over. Rin and Yukio had managed to destroy the Gehenna gate. Yukio's demon powers had awoken. Even if Satan would probably just come back and do the same thing all over again, the half demon finally felt at peace. He was still training to become an exorcist, of course. There had to be someone to protect to ones who didn't and couldn't know of the creatures that hid in the shadows of humanity. He was in the dorm building today, and the next day was the exorcist exam. Needless to say, he was nervous.
He sat at his desk, staring at the sigil and magic book that Yukio had slammed in front of the esquire and then stomped off. He had been staring at it for hours now, pretty much none of it made sense to him. He sighed and closed the book, deciding to do some of his regular homework. He just wanted to read some of Yukio's manga or something, but now wasn't the time to be goofing off. Becoming an exorcist meant the world to him. Kuro padded up to, jumping up onto his lap. "How is it going, Rin?" the cat demon asked.
Rin sighed. He wasn't doing well at all. He had caught a cold, and was especially stressed out. He had even thrown up the previous night, and still had a fever. "Okay, well, not really." he replied, petting his familiar who purred in response.
Kuro jumped up onto the desk, sitting on the thick book. He smiled, as much as a cat could.  "I'm sure you'll get better, your Rin after all." the demon cat mewed.
The half demon smiled sweetly.  He pulled out his notebook out of his book bag, grabbing a mechanical pencil and started doing his homework.  That cheered him up a bit, and now he was more determined to get stuff done.  He worked on homework for a good amount of time, and then he heard Yukio enter the room.  "Nii-san, how is your fever?  Do you think your well enough to cook dinner?" the taller of the two asked worriedly and walked over to Rin.
Rin almost growled when Yukio put a hand on his forehead.  But it was nice and cool, it felt nice.  The younger brother was about to pull away, but the half demon held Yukio's hand against his forehead.  "Thanks for worrying about me.  But I'm fine, really.  I promise I won't sneeze on the food." he finally replied.
Yukio smiled although there was still worry in his eyes.  Rin finally let him go, and he sat down at his own desk.  He wasn't exactly sure what to do, as most of the people in the cram school would become exorcists as they all were very strong by now.  He wouldn't be teaching until the next batch of students came in, so it wasn't like he could set up a lesson plan to pass the time.  There hadn't even been many missions lately.  He sighed.  The rest of the night went exactly the same way, Rin fixed dinner and they ate in silence.  Then Rin went to bed early, and Yukio stayed up for a while.
The next day, Rin woke up and could barely even speak.  His throat was terrible, and what made even worse was that he was late for the exam.  Yukio must have let him sleep in because of his pity for the half demon.  He slowly got up, and made himself some tea even if it hurt just to sip it.  He gulped all of it down, tightly shutting his eyes as he felt pain surge through him.  He put on his uniform, and left.
It made him happy to see his friends, although he couldn't exactly talk to them at the moment.  Bon walked over to him.  Rin would ask him what he wanted but he still couldn't talk without hurting himself in doing so.  "Are you okay?" Bon asked, although he didn't sound caring at all.
Rin weakly nodded and attempted to smile, even though he knew he wasn't.  Bon of course didn't look like he was convinced, but nodded.  "You better be, after all your dream is to become an exorcist and defeat Satan." he said and walked off.
The half demon looked to where Bon had sat down, next to Shima and Konekomaru.  It was just briefly, but Konekomaru looked at him and their eyes met.  But the follower of Bon blushed and quickly looked away.  If Rin hadn't felt so bad, he would have laughed at the shy esquire just to see Konekomaru blush even more.  But he didn't feel better, and it wouldn't be worth it anyways.
The teacher walked into the room.  He put the book he was holding on the teacher's desk.  "As you should know, today is the exorcist exam.  Only the best will become exorcists, so be prepared.  It will be on actual mission, and whether or not you become an exorcist will be judged on how well you perform.  Whether you work with your fellow esquires will also effect your grades.  All of you together, come to Mephisto's office when your ready." the teacher said and walked out.
Rin groaned, he didn't want to see that darned clown of all people right now.  He didn't like people seeing him so weak, especially not Mephisto.  Before he knew it, Shiemi had somehow wandered over to him.  "Rin, you don't look so well.  How about I get some Umoru-san for you?" Shiemi asked, worried.
The half demon was about to say he was fine, but thought it over.  He could use something to make him better.  He finally nodded.  The blonde called Nii, and got whatever Omuru-san was.  "Sorry I can't make any tea, just chew on it." she apologized and handed it to him.
She walked back to her desk.  Of course, he immediately started chewing on the root.  It was bitter tasting, but anything was better than feeling like this and failing the exorcist exam.
After about fifteen minutes, he did feel somewhat better and could actually speak although his voice was hoarse and it still hurt.  The other esquires were all ready, and he was ready as he'd ever be with a cold like this.  The 'Kyoto trio', or at least that's what he called them, walked up to him.  "You ready?  The rest of the class is." Bon asked him.
Rin nodded and grinned like the usual idiot he was.  So, the esquires all got up and headed to the principal's office.  When they entered, they saw Mephisto with his feet up on his desk grinning like a maniac as usual.  "Are you ready?  If you aren't well too bad.  Eins, Zwei, Drei, Cuckoo Clock!" he said and the weird clock-like demon appeared.
As it had before, the bird thing appeared.  It stretched out to grab all of them, and then they all blanked out.
Yup, a fanfic of Ao No Exorcist.
Can you guess what ship it will be?
It's pretty obvious.
If you haven't realized, your probably a stick in mud.
