I'm intrigued with these ideas you come up with and can translate to imagery - it's really quite a tricky thing to do effectively for art, so do keep up with it! (I notice this is a 2012 piece, so it will be interesting to see where you are now with your ideas.
) There's some lovely detail worked in on those horses - I would say that the right front leg on the third horse does look rather awkward, as front-view, and of course horses, can be tricky to get down really well! The middle horse you've done a great job on - great pose and detail worked in with the shades and tones; it keeps things interesting that the horses are all in different poses as well. I think there's a really good composition here, it balances out well with the dark tree on the side, flowing into the greys largely on the lower part and then into the white sky.
