So finally here's my application for a wonderful group that I just had to try and join~
To tell the truth I've been trying to find a group like this one for ages so when this one was created I obviously jumped at the chance to be apart of it.
Anyways, I hope you like my character, and wish me luck getting in! -crosses fingers- And come join me by submitting your own character so we can rp. >D

Likes: Stormy/rainy days, childrennot in a creepy pedo way, iced tea, electronics (especially e-readers and microwaves), sarcasm, "pun-ny" jokes, the ocean and socializing.
Dislikes: Spicy foods, being a leader, large open/empty spaces, being ignored, complete darkness, and harsh winters.
Favourite Food: Mint hot chocolate and stir fry

Hobbies: Practicing "optimistic pessimism"(to be described xD), relaxing outdoors, dancing in the rain, baking, writing and playing detective.
Dreams: To become a world-renowned magic-user To use the skills acquired learned at the school in order to help restore the physical condition of his family's shop, and also restore the place back to its former glory.
He's also a writer, so his back-up plan is to write a best-selling novel and hold book signings exclusively in the family shop.
Personality: Roan is a very strange character for the reason that most people would describe him as a "happy-go-lucky pessimist", as it takes a lot to dampen his mood. And though he may seem odd because of his ability to smile in almost any given situation -no matter how dire he'll admit it to be- Roan is proud of this trait as it has helped him through many difficult times.

Roan is something of a social butterfly and will always flock towards people who catch his eye. He is also a persistent, trusting individual; but is extremely loyal to close friends as well. He is used to being dependent, and therefore relies on people, but will sometimes have a change of face and push them away in times of need, determined to find his own independence.

Family: Father, Mother, and two Sisters (one older|one younger)
Childhood: Roan grew up the middle child in a very disorganized, yet loving, household in a small community outside of the big city. The group was very closely knit and often worked collectively to manage the family business -a beat-up, second-hand bookshop. And yet, even with how similarily each child was cared for and raised, the three siblings turned out drastically different. With his older sister a star in both looks and grades and his younger a musical prodigy, Roan seemed very bland in comparison. He forced himself not to care, and ended up embracing this "bland-ness" whole-heartedly; until he found something to make him unique....a growing passion for magic.And baking.

Roan instantly became fascinated by magic from the moment he heard of it and continued to study it -and his dedication continued to grow as did his pride after having finally found something that made him shine in the same way that his sisters do. In order to practice the water and electric magics he was learning Roan would run around doing chores for his parents, or discreetly preform tricks in order to attract customers to the family shop.

As years continued it seemed that the family's differences brought them even closer; and they lived decently. Though, with the family book shop losing more and more customers each year, it was difficult to say for how much longer. As a teenager Roan would travel to town along with his little sister and preform some parlor tricks while she played her violin in order to advertise the shop and earn a few extra pennies. In order to help out the family effort, Roan's older sister had taken leave from home for a few months in order to travel and scout out surrounding areas. When she returned her journey she came baring good news for young Roan, and excitedly told her brother about the Magic Academy she'd discovered.

First in disbelief that a school for magic actually exists and then in awe of the fact of what he could learn Roan packed his bags and said goodbye to his old life and traveled to Poke-Magic Academy where he felt that a new life awaited him.

Past Years at Poke-Magic Academy: For his first few semesters at the Academy Roan seemed to be nothing more than a hopeless cause; successfully holding the title of "worst in class" for a few consecutive terms. After sending home a very truthful letter admitting that he wasn't getting any better and of his inability to concentrate, Roan received some good advice from his sisters who suggested getting a "trigger". He burned a tattoo on each hand (one for water | one for electricity) and the results were almost instant. Now able to keep up with the rest of his class Roan is determined to prove himself to the academy.....and hopefully make a few friends along the way.

Preferred Methods: I'm open for rp-ing through either notes or comments, but slightly prefer notes because I find them easier to keep track of and are more organized.
Preferred Styles: I'm both a lit. and script rp-er; though I have to warn you that I do sometimes have the tendency to ramble.
