Hello, and welcome to ToWriteTogether! We are dedicated to bringing the writing community together -- from the beginner to the veteran. The sharing of feedback and friendly critiques are strongly encouraged between all members of the group, whether you are just beginning to write or have been writing for decades. Share your insight wherever you feel comfortable! I, too, will do my best to offer feedback where I can. Together, we can expand our perspective on literature of all kinds. Although we are very flexible about the works and writers welcomed into this community, there are a few general guidelines. We'd be much obliged if you stuck to 'em, in order to make this a more enjoyable community for everyone. They are as follows:

Be Respectful!

:bulletblue: No flaming. To be more specific, critiques of all kinds are encouraged, and it's totally okay not to sugarcoat! Bluntness is okiley-dokiley, but respect is a must. There is a difference between being honestly insightful, and being spiteful or rude. In short, your critique must offer some sort of perspective/advice beyond "lol this sucks". Discouraging someone from writing or putting them down as a person is not allowed, and any such reported comments will get you a warning. Three warnings? You're out.

:bulletblue: Likewise, if you, as a member, feel that you are being insulted, alienated or disrespected by another member, please note the group and explain the problem. We will look into it, and act accordingly. Note that this does not mean that we will defend you from unwelcome critique -- as the sharing of feedback is what this group is all about, and constructive criticism is essential towards improvement.

What Do You Accept?

:bulletblue: Here at ToWriteTogether, we accept all forms of literature! From poetry, to prose, to "prosetry". We accept short stories, chapters, essays, fan fiction, free verse, fixed form poetry, and all else. All genres are allowed, including erotica. There are only a few types of writing that will not be accepted, and they are as follows:
:bulletblack: Role-Play formatting.
Because RP's are not an accepted form of literature, submissions written as such will not be accepted. Scripts are absolutely fine, but keep in mind that a script is more than just dialogue. If you submitted what you consider a script and it was declined, you will be notified and you are welcome to discuss it farther, at which point you may be reconsidered.
:bulletblack: Discriminatory works.
Keep in mind that there is a difference between a character in your story being bigoted, and the piece of work itself being inherently hateful. Characters with discriminatory attitudes are okay, as long as the work itself is not clearly promoting hateful or bigoted ideas. This includes racism, homophobia, transphobia, ablism, sexism, body hate, attacks on religion or lack of, and any thing else that may be deemed hateful or discriminating. Any such submissions will be immediately declined.
:bulletblack: Journal entries!
Do not submit your deviantART journal entries please! We want your literature, not your blog entries. Thank you!
:bulletblack: Non-literary works.
Visual arts and other non-literary works will not be accepted.
:bulletblue: You may submit unlimited amounts of your work at any time, although this may be subject to change. Upon submitting, two of the Admins will review your work to make sure it doesn't fall into any of the categories above before accepting. Then, we'll move on to offering our best feedback!

What's up with the skill level labels on the gallery folders?

:bulletblue: You may have noticed that our gallery folders range from "Beginner" to "Intermediate". Don't fret over where to submit, though! You are welcome to submit wherever you feel comfortable -- and likewise, critique wherever you feel comfortable as well! The gallery folders are only as such to help readers find what they're looking for, whether to offer feedback or simply read and enjoy. Likewise, feedback will be offered to submissions from all folders. Remember, this is your writing community, no matter who you are or what you write!

:bulletblue: The Featured Folder is for our most active members' favorite works! Active members will be asked which of their works they would prefer be Featured in the spotlight. Submissions to this folder are not open. Thanks!

Contribute!!!

:bulletblue: Be active! We want your works, but we also want your perspective on the works of others! Remember, we're here to write together.

New Admins are, for the moment, no longer needed. If all goes well, we will soon have three lovely Co-Founders to help boost our new community!

I'd like to know what the limit is for submitting deviations? :D
