formative works! ive been getting a better feel for the other characters.

er basically the synopsis is something like:
-old temple has had a demon sealed in it for at least a thousand years
-each 'generation' has at least 3 people guarding the place
-this new young attendant is frightened as a rabbit when he first serves the demon
(-they dont tell attendants why they seem to need replacing more often than priests or guardians)
-as time goes by the kid grows oddly sympathetic toward the demon
-the demon, old as balls and wiser than any of them, has a little fun playing with the kid's mind, not really maliciously because he's still tightly sealed, he just teaches the kid to question things and use logic rather than blind belief
-the priest grows concerned about the attendant's subsiding fear of the demon
(-the demon and the priest are at odds for reasons besides the fact that one is holy and the other unholy; they sort of fight over the attendant)
-the demon courts the kid a little bit while the kid suffers confusing emotions that show up most often in his dreams, while the priest struggles with his own less-than-pure affections for the kid
-ultimately the attendant is probably compromised and becomes a sacrifice, or ends up helping to free the demon and fuck things up for everyone
