Literature Text

You got home and threw yourself on the bed. Why did this always happen to you. Why was it that guys never came to you wanting a REAL relationship? Oh well who gives. You put your headphones in and slowly fell asleep…

Walking by the water, hand in hand. Nothing but you, him and the slowly setting sun. You were happy, happier than you have been in years. It was good.

You woke up and looked at your clock. 4:53am. There was no way you were going to go back to sleep after that dream. The sun was about to rise, deciding that rather than sit in your white walled room, you'd go for a run. You changed out of your pyjamas and onto your running gear. Putting your favourite playlist on, you headed out the door into the slowly brightening streets of (home town).

You ran down to the river, lost in your thoughts when you stopped. There he was, still standing in the same spot you had left him. He hadn't moved, not even a centimetre. 11 hours and he was still there. You walked up to him, sweating and panting. You tapped him gently on the shoulder. He turned around and blushed slightly.

"Oh, 'ello ___, funny seeing you here again and so soon." He smiled and chuckled lightly.

"Arthur, you've been standing there for 11 hours…" He looked at you in disbelief.

"You're lying; I have been here for a few minutes!" He looked to the rising sun. "11 hours… really?"

"Yeah, are you ok?" You rested a hand on his shoulder gently.

"Yeah, I seemed to be lost in thought…" He smiled, rubbing the back of his neck.

"You need some rest, want to come back to mine for some tea?" Why were you offering this!? Just a few hours ago you were angry at him. What was wrong with you?

"If it won't create too much trouble…" He asked, looking at you with sad, green eyes. You simply grabbed his hand, leading him to your house. Neither of you spoke a word until you had reached your destination. You lead him through the door and to the kitchen.

"What type of tea do you prefer, peppermint or Earl Grey?" you looked at him, holding up two boxes of tea bags.

"Earl Grey please.." He said softly.

"Ok, give me a minute. You can have some of those cupcakes if you want. I baked them this morning." You said, pointing at the bright blue cakes on the kitchen bench. Truthfully, you weren't the best cook, but it was polite to offer.

"Thank you." He said, taking one and biting into it. His face lit up. "This is really good ____."

"Thank you. I can't usually cook; everyone says that I shouldn't try. I'm glad someone other than me appreciates them." You smiled, handing him his tea, watching him eagerly eat the cupcake.

"Your cooking rivals even that of my own." He smiled, taking a sip of the tea. "People say my cooking is terrible, but I am rather fond of it." He said, finishing off the tiny blue cake.

"I'll have to try it sometime." Maybe he wasn't that bad… You thought he may possibly not be like the rest of the male race. But there was still doubt in your mind. It would be difficult for you to trust again…

"That sounds lovely." He smiled genuinely at you.

You turned and looked at the clock. 5:59am. You had nothing planned today, so you figured that Arthur could stay as long as he wished. If all he did was be nice, what harm was there?

---

You and Arthur spent the whole day, talking about your lives. You had shared things with him, that even your former best friends hadn't known. There was just something about him, something that warmed your heart. He told you about his friend Francis and how much of a sleaze he was. He told you how he was scared of some guy called Ivan. To be honest he didn't sound that bad.

"There was this one time, I tried to curse my 'friend' Alfred with 'Bubsy's Chair' and Russia sat on it, the whole thing blew up! That chair had been in my family for years and it had bought terrible curses upon many of our enemies, and all it took was Ivan to sit down. It exploded! Thank God for ductape!" He giggled. Making hand gestured for the explosions. You laughed.

"He must be really scary then~" You mocked him playfully, nudging him a little. "I've never cursed anyone before. It sounds like it'd be worth the time though." You said taking a sip of your now luke warm, hot chocolate.

"It's worth it just to see their faces when you start saying the curse incantations." He chuckled.

"Does it really work?" You asked, seeming genuinely interested.

"Of course it does! This one time, I cursed Francis to hate wine. He suffered withdrawal and got pretty sick… So I un-cursed him…" He said, laughing slightly.

The two of you continued to talk, until the familiar rumbling sound began to ring from your stomach.

"Someone's hungry~" The Englishman giggled.

"Would you like something to eat? I'll be happy to cook for you." You smiled, heading to the kitchen.

"I would love for you to cook for me~" He smiled gently, not letting his eyes stray from you. You blushed slightly, attempting to ignore the emerald eyes set on you. You waltzed around the kitchen, collecting ingredients, smiling while doing so. "Oh _____, do you have a CD player?"

"Ah, yes, just over there to the left~" You said, not thinking about why he wanted it, only focusing on mixing the ingredients.

Arthur began to play music on the CD player. He played some Arctic Monkeys music. You looked up at him and smiled.

"I love these guys!" You squealed, attempting not to get to excited.

"As do I~" He smiled, still watching you cook. "____, would you like me to help you love?" Arthur chuckled, noticing you having difficulty with the mixing.

"Oh, yeah. That'd be great." You smiled.

"What are you trying to make?"
"Scones." You smiled before rubbing the back of your neck.

Arthur and you proceded to cook the scones, he showed you the correct way to place the ingredients in the bowl and how long to cook them for. While the two of you were waiting for the scones to finish cooking, you sat on the kitchen bench. Both of your faces were covered in flour.

Arthur reached up and whipped some of the flour off your face. You blushed slightly, before looking away from his gaze. Normally you would have simply hit his hand away, but for some reason you didn't want to…. You wanted him to hold you….

"____, you look beautiful…." Arthur smiled at you.

"A-arthur….."
